The Bunkhouse at Juniper Hill is a rustic 600 sq ft. guest cabin in the White Mountains of eastern Arizona near the tiny community of Nutrioso, nine miles north from scenic Alpine, Arizona. Built in 2000, using pine and fir from the local sawmill, you'll find The Bunkhouse comfortable, cozy, and relaxing. Our 22-acre site offers privacy, peacefulness, solitude and plenty of room to wander. We welcome you to The Bunkhouse at Juniper Hill.
The scenery was beautiful, the cabin was beautiful and the hospitality was wonderful. Best anniversary getaway yet, thank you!
The bunkhouse at Juniper, what a great place to have stayed. The location is beautiful, with a view of Escudilla Mtn. The owners, Ken and Karen Struthers built this cabin and have made this quiet and secluded cabin a pleasure to stay, with modern conveniences, yet maintaining that rich log cabin feeling.
One of the best places I have stayed, and will got back again.
Location is beautiful, quiet and secluded and cabin has all the modern conveniences. Area full of hiking, fishing exploring, and birding activities. Pricing was excellent!
If you want a beautiful place to stay for your eastern Arizona vacation, then stay at this cabin. It is a real Western beauty, constructed from native Ponderosa pine milled at the nearby Nutrioso sawmill. The owners, Ken and Karen Struthers, have made it very comfortable and pretty, with all the conveniences needed. The cabin is extremely clean and well-maintained. And they made sure to ask us if there was anything else we needed. Set on their 20 acre property, you can watch the full moon rise over Escudilla Mountain, and have a delightful experience watching the hummingbirds and a variety of perching birds frequent the backyard feeders. Alpine, AZ is nearby and it is is famous for gorgeous scenery at its high altitude. We drove through the Blue River wilderness area, and the Sipe Wildlife viewing area (set on 1,300 acres.) Much of this area is in the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest and there are many beautiful locations to enjoy. And plenty of hiking trails too. In Alpine we enjoyed lunch at the Bear Wallow Cafe. In Springerville, we appreciated Junk and Java, and had a fun and interesting conversation with the owners as we had our coffee - if you are a coffee shop person, they have all the fancy coffees here as well as my favorite, Americano. And we learned some local history from the owners. Our vacation here was great and met all our expectations and more -- my husband and I plan to return. And we are recommending it to our friends.
A quaint welcoming home filled, with lots of love and care! That's the best way to describe The bunkhouse at Juniper Hill. My husband, our three year old and I rented The bunkhouse for a weekend in May. The first thing you notice in the home is the beautiful artifacts and well designed interiors. Ken and Karen have filled the house with their warmth and their unique taste. The bunkhouse has an album, where glimpses of the construction are shared. Karen has added her own special touch into the tiles, paintings and even in the kitchen, with her handmade serve ware set. Ken shared some excellent wood work tips with my husband, and Karen was kind enough to explain how to make a Rhubarb cake recipe. We definitely will be visiting the bunkhouse again, and it is definitely our home away from home, for our White Mountains trips.
The bunkhouse at Juniper Hill is a delightful, comfortable cabin beautifully appointed and tastefully decorated by owners Ken and Karen. It is an excellent base to explore this wonderful area. My husband and I were making a return visit after a number of years and it was as welcoming on the second visit as on the first. Once we'd decided to include the White Mountains on our holiday itinerary there was no doubt where we would stay. Hummingbirds were busy at the feeders all day long and many other birds turned up to take the seeds that were on offer. It made a really relaxed, enjoyable stay at the end of a busy holiday. Thanks Ken and Karen for making our stay so enjoyable.
