Overview

Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday apartment in Alaska - Range View Chateau

1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps up to 4

This secluded oasis is just 15min from the shopping center of Fairbanks, but you'll feel like you are in the middle of the Alaskan Wilderness. The view literally stretches hundereds of miles in multiple directions. From your bedroom you will be able to see the distant Neighboring city of North Pole, and beyond that, the entire Alaskan Range dominates the landscape.

This 1,000 sq/ft unit has a private entrance, private Washer & Dryer within the unit, Jetted Tub, and an open spacious layout. I can not over emphasize the view. You will wake up every morning, with all of Interior Alaska stretched before you.

Whether you want to pick our wild blueberries in the summer, see the many moose that wander through our yard, or observe the legendary Northern Lights that will dance over your head, you won't find a better place to explore Alaska from.

Home from home!

Really enjoyable stay. For a similar price to a hotel room we had lots more space and facilities. Well equipped kitchen allowed us to eat in rather than having to go out every night. Views (when the clouds cleared) were fantastic. Would definitely recommend.

Million dollar view!

  • 5 of 5

We spent 2 days here in June 2016 and loved it. The view is unbelievable. We couldn't believe when we woke up the last morning and saw the Alaskan range. The unit is an upstairs apartment with everything you will need. Bedding was comfortable, and it was such a convenience to have a washer and dryer. It is about a 15 minute drive from Fairbanks, but we didn't find this to be an issue. Would absolutely recommend staying here!

Great Views

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Hannah's apartment from May 17th till the 23rd. The apartment was just what we expected, Clean, well stocked with towels, utensils to cook and the views from the living and bedrooms were to die for. Hannah gives you your privacy, but is there for any of the needs you might have. The 20 hours of daylight were no problem, as she has room darkening shades to solve the problem. You have your own parking space. What I loved also was the Laundry room. Right off the kitchen, full size washer and dryer. Very convenient. The kitchen is well stocked with nice pots and pans and all the utensils you need to make simple meals. I would highly recommend the apartment for a couple or a family of 4, as there is a sofa bed in the living room and plenty of room for two children to sleep there at night. Bathroom is large and plenty of room for storage. The bedroom has two closets with more then enough room for your clothes. Mattress and pillows were great, we slept like babies every night. Thank you Hannah for a great stay in Fairbanks.

Beautiful and quiet

  • 4 of 5

We spent the Memorial Day Weekend in Fairbanks and wanted to stay in a clean place that was quiet. This was exactly that. It is quite large so for two

people it was very roomy. The bed was very comfortable. The view was beautiful and it is not hard to find. The inside stairs are steep and narrow so that was the only thing that was a downside. There are handrails that help. Hannah came out to meet us when we arrived. She is very friendly. We enjoyed our stay.

Great view of the northern lights

  • 5 of 5

First trip to Fairbanks, so I wanted to be a tourist, but the main reason was to see the lights without a trip to Norway, Iceland or the like. The rooms are set up with the bedroom and the living area having a 3 window wide view looking toward the Alaskan Range; roughly from the northeast to the south. What that translates to is laying in bed at 2AM and watching the lights while snuggled in the blankets. Coming from Key West FL, you can imagine how much I appreciated this! We arrived 2/11/2016 and left 2/16/2016 and saw the lights all but one night when it was overcast. What a treat!

House is close to restaurants and shopping, nice kitchen area for preparing your own meals and an extension cord to plug in the engine heater for your car. Driveway is steep, but my all wheel drive Kia Sportage never slipped going up or down. No wifi or TV, but we had a good 3G and 4G signal so were never really out of touch. While I would have liked some news channel on the TV (for my wife), or wifi, the jetted tub was a pleasant surprise that I wouldn't have had in a standard hotel room. All rooms were clean and the photos on the site accurately showed what you get. When we arrived we found previous guest left behind coffee filters and a few coffee choices, bathroom supplies like shampoo, body wash, lotions and such. If your arriving late in the day, or very early in the morning like we did, you can probably get by without shopping for essentials before visiting the house.

I've already recommended to my friends and I would suggest others plan a visit to the Chena Hot Springs about an hour away and North Pole AK about 30 minutes away. At the Santa house in North Pole you can buy post cards and stamps and the staff will either mail them right away (stamped from North Pole), or hold them for holiday delivery; what a treat for children and grandkids.

Bottom line, if I go back to Fairbanks, I would check to see if Hannah had an opening that would fit my travel plans.

Owner's Response: Hello Guy, Thank you so much for the great review! So glad you had a comfortable stay and were able to see the Aurora! Im so sorry you missed it, we actually do have Direct TV (with over 100 channels)in the apartment! I will put a TV guide and channel list by the remote, for future guests, and make sure it's mentioned in the welcome letter. Thank you very much for recommending us to friends, and we would love to have you come stay again! All the best! ~~Hannah

Great option for Fairbanks stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful experience. It is a mother-in-law apartment in the renters' home that has all you need for a weekend stay. The hosts checked on us when we arrived, made sure we had enough linens and towels. It is otherwise private, in a neighborhood about 15min out of town, with a great view. We had a couple in the bedroom and I stayed on the futon which was fairly comfortable once made up. It could have easily slept someone else on the hide-a-bed. Very spacious, clean and comfortable. Good communication with owners. We were looking for Northern Lights, but missed them on that trip. Still enjoyed the going to the hot springs though!
