My husband and I moved back to our home state of Montana after living in the corporate life of big cities. We came home to care for elderly parents and to enjoy our grandchildren. The cabin has been the scene of many happy family times for us. And we are glad to be able to share it with families from all over the country, meeting new folks and seeing the joy that this magical place continues to bring to others.
Cheryl Bass purchased this cabin in 1999
We searched for many years for a place to have respite from care giving and the rigors of daily life. We feel that God 'gifted' us this special place so that we could in turn share it with others; that the peace and tranquility we have enjoyed would also be enjoyed by others who need it.
We walked into this place which 'magically appeared on the road in front of us' on a Sunday we knew that this was IT. The mountains, the horses all around, the sheep, the wild birds, the pond of jumping fish, the porch swing, the PEACE AND QUIET. We know you will feel it too....
Thanks so much for a wonderful time at the cabin! It was so much more than we could ever have hoped for! We had planned to go into Red Lodge to visit shops and go to the Nature Center but you had so much for us here that we didn't have to leave! The kids had tons of fun on the boats, watching for birds, identifying flowers, and making homemade ice cream!! Too many things to list!!! We are already planning our next trip!! Thanks again!
We had a very relaxing time while we were here. Waking up to the exceptional views with mountains, horses and a creek all added to the relaxation. Cheryl went out of her way to make us feel welcome and she made sure every detail was covered so we never had to worry about a thing. Loads of activities identified, games, books and magazines made us feel like we were welcome guests in their home. This is the best property we have stayed at in the Red Lodge area!
The location, while remote, is only 10 miles from Red Lodge, 1/4 mile outside the peaceful secluded village of Luther MT, 10 miles from Roscoe MT and it famous Grizzly Bar, 70 miles from Billings, 40 miles away from Yellowstone Park, via the scenic Beartooth Pass and only 3 miles from the Custer National Forest.
The property offers a trout pond...patio area for suntanning...in-ground fire pit...picnic tables...volleyball net....toy box full of outdoor 'toys' including a croquet set...meadow area with hammock hung between two huge aspens...small boat and a canoe for floating the pond...wide array of fishing poles and tackle.
