About Doug and Stephanie

Our family loves the outdoors, hiking, biking, skiing, musicals and riding ATV's. Our dad hopes to teach us to fly fish someday. This cabin is his mid-life crisis or his dream come true.

Doug and Stephanie purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Doug and Stephanie chose Duck Creek Village

This is what happens when your friends invite you to their cabin. We fell in love with this awesome place and we think you would love the proximity to so many wonderful sites. Southern Utah is one of the most unique places on earth. Plus our friends were able to purchase another cabin nearby. It is nice and cool during the summer and gets plenty of snow during the winter yet it is accessible year round. A place our family can unplug from the world and experience family time together.

What makes this cabin unique

This is a luxury custom cabin on 1.5 acres of land. The master has a king size bed and jetted tub in the bathroom. The guest rooms each have two queen beds. It is one of the few cabins on the mountain that has air conditioning. The large free standing gas fireplace is the centerpiece of the cabin. The loft houses two bedrooms and also has a large area for TV and play area. A comfortable wrap around porch covers 3/4 of the cabin with an outside grill. The driveway is easy to navigate.

Loved Paradise Lodge!

  • 5 of 5

We headed to Paradise Lodge from Texas in search of a white Christmas and we were not disappointed! The cabin is fabulous, exactly like the description and pictures, and had just about everything we could have asked for. I think the only thing we didn't find were pie plates, but we were able to make due and get our holiday pies made anyway. Doug and Stephanie were always on top of all communications with us, including when we had to interrupt their Christmas Eve because the neighborhood lost power. They quickly responded, contacted the power company, and let us know where we could find all extra items we might need for a cold, dark night. Luckily, power came on quickly, but I was impressed with their quick responses even on a family night. The cabin was convenient for skiing, Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon. Shopping in Cedar City was convenient too. I would recommend this cabin and location to anyone wanting to visit this area. We loved everything about it and made lasting memories with our family. We could not have asked for a better home away from home for the holidays.

Owner's Response: Welcome from Texas! So glad to share our cabin with your family and you were introduced to a White Mountain Experience with 3-4 feet of snow in one storm. The pie plates are a great idea and we will add those to the kitchen. Be sure to look for them under the stove in the drawer.

Paradise in Duck Creek!!

  • 5 of 5

Duck Creek is heaven on earth! Truly, the beautiful and peaceful surroundings in this area are unbeatable. We had never been to Bryce Canyon and with a short 45 minute drive from the cabin, we were looking at an incredible piece of God's handiwork! Spectacular! We loved Paradise Lodge from the moment we arrived. The cabin is tastefully and comfortably decorated and furnished with everything we needed for a full weekend retreat. We loved sitting by the fireplace, playing games and just relaxing in the warm, cozy cabin. Beds and pillows were soft, which is a huge plus! Great showers and amenities. We would highly recommend this property to anyone needing a fabulous getaway! Perfect for a large family getaway, girl's weekend retreat, or couples escape. We enjoyed visiting in the winter with all the snow and will definitely return and bring ATVs to explore the beautiful forested areas and trails in the summer or fall. Any time of year would be great! Thank you Doug & Stephanie for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful and peaceful cabin. Everything was PERFECT!!!!

Owner's Response: Winter visits are spectacular. Sometimes our guests want to add warmth to their visit so we have extra blankets, comforters and space heaters in the closets. The insta hot water pot has water warmed and ready to go in 30 seconds for tea and hot cocoas. Thanks for visiting and please come again.

Thanksgiving stay

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time to Duck Creek area and we found it to be a wonderful area to see many sites in southern Utah and to be surrounded by green forests that give you a feel of a winter wonderland. The lodge is large and has a special welcoming spirit about it. It is well taken care of and offers a homey environment. It was a great family vacation and we would recommend it as a fun place to visit.

This place was amazing!

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful cabin is nestled among a ton of gorgeous pine trees! We loved it! It was so peaceful and quiet there. The cabin itself was so comfortable and had everything that we could have needed, our family really enjoyed being there together for the weekend. We took our RZR down and explored many trails. This time of year all the colors were changing and the views were breathtaking! We just wish we could have stayed longer! It was the perfect getaway from our busy lives. We will definitely go back!

Owner's Response: The ATV and Razor trails are endless-if this is the kind of thing you like to do find the Dixie National Trail maps, pack a picnic and go for the day. Some highlights are driving to Stawberry point. You can also get to this area by car. Hike out to the point and look for the 1940s survey marker on the rock.

Beautiful Home and Great Location

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at the Paradise Lodge. The location is great to use as a home base for visiting the State and National Parks in the area or just relaxing in the beautiful home. There is plenty of room for family or friends, and the kitchen is well equipped to cook up some great meals. Everything was just perfect. If you love to ATV the surrounding area is ideal.

Stephanie and Doug responded quickly to any questions we had.

We hope to be back!

Thank you

Paul & Cathy

Awesome cabin, awesome vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Looking for a place to rest your head in beautiful Southern Utah, this is the place! First of all location, location, location. Being centrally located between two great national parks is a plus. We were here the end of August and early September, the parks had temperatures approaching 100 degrees. It was wonderful to retreat back into our mountain paradise after a long day of hiking.

Locally, Duck Creek Village and Dixie National Forest had so much to offer. We had a full day of UTVing. Saw the wonderful sights of Cascade Falls, the Ice Cave, Strawberry Point and Mammouth Caves. What fun! Also, nearby Cedar City is a gem. We saw "The Cocoanuts" one of the eight plays going on all summer.

The cabin is first class, very comfortable, tasteful and well equipped. All high-end appliances. The washer/dryer was such a plus!

We would highly recommend this!

Owner's Response: We noticed what excellent care you took of our cabin and are grateful you loved it as much as we do. We would love you to return! Also, glad you were able to catch the Coconuts in Cedar City. We saw that this summer and it was a highlight for our family! The Cedar City plays run till the end of October and start again in June. You took excellent advantage of all the wonderful things that Duck Creek Village, Cedar and the Parks have to offer. So glad you saw the ice caves.
