Still not sure

  • 2 of 5

I will list what we liked and did not like about this property and also the owner who handled it.

Negatives: House was NOT all the way clean when arrived, One of the two couches in loft up against the window appeared to have some sort of VOMIT on the back cushions, House is still under construction with wood shims being found everywhere and missing paint spots. Kitchen chairs have rips in them. Bar undone. They DO NOT provide linens for bedding, towels or a washer or dryer for us to use. WIFI was terrible constantly going out. They do NOT SUPPLY enough garbage cans for 18 peoples trash. We had a full truck going home so we were charged 150.00 for the trash that was left behind IN BAGS (owner claims we left her property a dump with cans everywhere which is so far from the truth. I inspected that property myself even broomed the driveway and patio.

Owner charged us for supposedly breaking a couch (400.00)!!! Our party all left Sunday so it was me and my family of 3 left in that cabin and we were sleeping and watching tv all of sunday while it rained. There was NO couch broken.

Needless to say we got NO refund back. Also the kitchen circuit breaker kept popping. There are no markers to know how much of her property is hers in the back of the house, so she complained that we were on her neighbors property ( we had a intimate wedding ceremony). Not sure how we were supposed to know this. Also because there were not enough garbage cans we had to leave a few things in the fridge, owner was all upset about this as well.

For the price of rental, extra garbage cans SHOULD BE PROVIDED. Also it doesn't appear she actually keeps the deposit to repair suposable broken items as there were obviously no repairs to what I had seen wrong.

I know for a fact I left her cabin clean as I even cleaned counter tops down when I knew a cleaning crew was coming in. I am a bit of a clean freak myself. Owner also said we lost pieces to a pack n play??? Pack n play was used for 2 nights with a baby in it, so not sure what she is talking about.

Positives: Large home, plenty of space, Beautiful out door area but would not rent here again

Very poor experience. The home was under construction and filthy.

  • 1 of 5

Condition of home:

Filthy bathrooms and deck.

Under construction-unattached mirror, unattached countertop, unpainted walls.

No hot water for showers.

No gas for cooking.

Our only negative VRBO/Home Away experience ever.

Had to purchase all of our sheets and towels after our arrival--owner has since updated site to say that linens are not provided.

Owner's Response: Thank you for reading my response to this review. This tenant did not read the tenant contract or listing which state "linens not provided". Additionally, check in time is at 4pm, the tenant entered the property at noon, 4 hours early, even though I directly told her not to. If available, I do allow early checkin. Unfortunately, I had guests check out earlier that day. This group arrived at the same time as the cleaning crew. My cleaning cannot effectively clean when there are 18 people occupying the property. I know that they did there best, cleaned bathrooms and mopped floors. The tenants also turned off the main gas supply to the property- it's located behind the gas grill, effectively shutting off the boiler. It took 2 hours for my emergency plumber to arrive and fix the problem. Regarding her comments regarding "construction" I have had dozens of guests and no complaints. A property of this size has a lot of upkeep and we have been updating. I believe her comment was related to a bar counter that had a temporary counter, I can send photos of this upon request. Finally, this tenant demanded refund for payment after stay was completed. I felt she was using the review system to extort payment which I don't go allow with. PLEASE SEE MY MANY OTHER REVIEWS, these are only a small number of reviews compared to many happy and repeat guests.

Gorgeous!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at 'the cabin.' The cabin itself was gorgeous and the forest and setting was beautiful. There was plenty of space (beds, floor space and privacy.) The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and created an easy environment for food preparation. Overall we were very pleased and enjoyed our stay immensely.

This was the perfect place to host my son wedding . The mountain air was crisp the light snow falling we could not ask for a more perfect setting.

Is was nice to have some family and guest have a room in a beautiful house where we could all enjoy the weekend.

Beautiful Forest Lakes property

  • 5 of 5

We rented this location for a family getaway which included family members of all ages. All were delighted with the accommodations, location, beauty of the property, and surrounding area. It is wonderful, peaceful place. The 2 level porch is great to relax and enjoy the forest breeze while the kids can play on the lower level with the provided activity toys. The loft pool table provided some great generational competition and the multi-floor construction allowed quiet time for little ones. Nearby are multiple lakes for fishing and there are a couple of geocach sites to be found nearby. The 2 nearby little stores carry most necessities and Heber is only 10-15 minutes away for the rest.

All in all a wonderful place to stay and we look forward to using it again.

Incredible Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We booked the cabin for a family gathering out of the heat, and we got that, and so much more. We had a group of 18, that included those with ages ranging from 4 months to 78 years old. Everyone had a fantastic time. There was more than enough room for everyone, in every possible way...the beds, the bathrooms, quiet spaces, play areas...the kids loved the loft and pool table, and the adults enjoyed the enormous patio. We were able to have great family meals with the spacious kitchen and the extraordinary stove and refrigerator. The area was perfect for a peaceful time, and also allowed enough room for the kids to run around and ride bikes. Our stay of 4 nights was not enough...as no one wanted to leave the beautiful cabin. We will definitely go again!
