Tesuque is arguably the most sought-after part of Santa Fe. Just north of town, it's quiet, yet close to everything. Tesuque is one of the greener parts of Santa Fe with cottonwoods lining the Tesuque River. It's an amazing place to experience the nature of the high-desert.
Guests have total privacy at this property. Our friend and property manager, Mark will meet guests at the property to let them in and show them around. Mark is also an Australian trained butler who can provide extra service (additional fees), including:
• Arranging airport pickup / drop off
• Valet duties - unpack / pack suitcases, pressing clothes
• Event planning
• Private cooking
• Cocktail party service
• Restaurant Reservations
• Event reservations
I'm photographer who does landscapes and portraits and my husband is a a writer best known for a series of novels called 'Tales of the City'. We live in San Francisco, but use this house as our mountain retreat.
Christopher Turner purchased this house in 2012
We fell in love with Tesuque the first time we came to Santa Fe. We found this place and not only did we love the house, but the land was more magical than anything we had looked at in Santa Fe. There are two arroyos on the property as well as cliffs up behind the house that are called the Tesuque Table. The view up in the mountains is amazing, and sunsets are stunning. The pool is our favorite feature of the house... especially in the summer. On almost any summer afternoon when we're in Santa Fe you'll find us enjoying the pool.
The large open living space is great for entertaining. The pool is a huge joy. The casita (guest house) makes a very private getaway if more than one couple is staying on the ranch.
This home provided a wonderful place to base our trip to Santa Fe and the surrounding area. Just north of town at the end of a private road, we enjoyed privacy but easy access to Santa Fe and Taos. The pool and outside deck are fantastic; water kept at 85 degrees which was perfect on 70 - 75 degree days in September. Large glass doors give wide open access to the house and comfortable outdoor furniture. The living room was also very comfortable for our group of 7 people. The kitchen is well-stocked and has nice appliances. It is adjacent to a dining area with a large table for 8. Three bedrooms in the main house were all clean and comfortable as was the separate casita which is a short walk away. Many beds bother my back but I had great sleep all week in the king bed in the casita. There is also a separate outdoor seating area in a garden below the main house where we watched hummingbirds in the morning and sunsets in the evening. The property manager, Mark, met us when we arrived and gave a great tour of the house and area. He lives nearby and is available if any needs arise. One of our party left a necklace in a bedroom and Mark called us at the airport to let us know before she even realized it was missing. He shipped it back home to her.
In summary, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property and our first-time visit to Santa Fe. We were with our adult children and their companions ranging in age from 25 - 31. We all decided to spend our last afternoon of our 1-week trip relaxing at the poolside because we liked it so much. We felt the rental was worth every penny!
Family vacation to Santa Fe. House is beautiful and location is in a quiet area. Nice and secluded. Kitchen has everything you need. Beds and linens were very comfortable.
When first arrived, met by the manager (Mark). Very nice gentleman. Able to contact him with any questions and responds right away.
Very close proximity to tons of restaurants and downtown, lots of activities nearby. Lots of hiking in the area!
Would recommend a stay here. Very nice home, we've stayed several places over the years and this is one that will go toward top of our the list.
Eight of us -- four adults and four teens -- just stayed at this Tesuque home near Santa Fe and had an incredible time. The house is charming. Great pool, nice kitchen, pleasant common spaces, the second house (la casita) makes for some additional privacy. There is a lovely ridge right out the door that you can walk along for several miles if you like wandering without getting into a car, as I do. Tesuque, with a great little restaurant, is right down the road and Santa Fe only 10 minutes away. Mark, who runs the place, was incredibly helpful and nice to deal with, and never intrusive in any way. Lots of great stuff to do, from the Bandolier ruins to the psychedelic Meow Wolf (perhaps our favorite) to the 10,000 Waves Spa (a Mark tip) to endless galleries and hikes. We'd recently been to Sedona, which is more fantastic physically, but the overall experience of Santa Fe is richer. We stayed for a week and wish it had been two. If you'd like to stay near but not in Santa Fe, I can't imagine a better place.
I can not say enough good things about this lovely property. We had our annual "sisters" weekend here and all 7 of us fit comfortably. The home is so beautifully decorated with such wonderful details, each day we would find something new to oooh and ahhh about. The landscaping was also beautiful, what a wonderful location! Mark, the house manager, was so helpful both prior and during the trip. It felt like meeting an old friend when you arrive and he is there to greet you and show you around the property. We loved the location of being outside Santa Fe as it really gave us the opportunity to visit places we might not have seen had we stayed in town. And it is a short and easy drive to get into Santa Fe. I highly recommend this property!
We arrived on a late afternoon and were met by Mark. He showed us around the house and answered every question. He is a wealth of knowledge! The house itself is beautiful. It was very clean. It was a very comfortable house to be in for our week. The setting was beautiful, the sunsets were beautiful! We didn't get to use the pool, it was cold, and it wasn't up and running, but that was ok. We were a good 15 minutes away from downtown Santa Fe. But we were in a good location to travel around to various sightseeing places. I want to add too, look at the stars at night, they are absolutely amazing from that property!!
Our extended family from Portland OR, Pittsburgh PA and New York NY gathered at Rancho Rosado to celebrate several milestones. The property manager Mark was so helpful to us before our trip in helping to guide us about restaurants (Geronimo, Tesuque Village Market), bakeries (Chocolate Maven in SF - a must!) and things to do. He couldn't have been any nicer and felt like an old friend from the moment he greeted us at the house.
The house is beautifully decorated and comfortable and was a welcome place for relaxation after our day trips to Bandelier, Los Alamos, Taos and the Santa Fe area. It was nice to see so many wonderful books at the house, especially those written by one of the owners. I could curl up next to the fireplace for a week and just read and never leave the house - which we may do soon as we'd love to rent again!
We were fortunate enough to be staying at Rancho Rosado over a weekend when the Santa Fe Opera was having an open house at their facilities - a truly amazing place and yet another reason we'd love to return.
Thank you again for allowing us to rent your wonderful home in Tesuque. And a HUGE thank you to Mark who is absolutely an amazing person. You are so fortunate to have him as a friend and to represent your home.
