The Garden City Guest House is nestled in the quiet Rose Park residential neighborhood just blocks from many services, including City parks, free Mountain Line Bus, the University of Montana and Montana College. This spacious, private, and well-maintained guest house is within walking distance of shopping, dining, sports venues, fitness centers, trails, child care, post office and library, churches, fairgrounds, and many more community and commercial centers. It is also a short distance from most Missoula-area outdoor and tourist destinations. If you point to the center of a City of Missoula map, you would likely find you’ve landed on our special guest house—open year-round, perfect for a weekend getaway or a longer stay. The guest house is licensed in compliance with local regulations, insured, and professionally cleaned after each guest.

The guest house is a garden apartment on the lower level of a single family home. The owner and family live on the upper two floors of this newly-remodeled, vintage 1940’s home. We would like you to feel right at home during your stay at the Garden City Guest House and will do whatever we can to ensure your visit is relaxing and memorable. The guest house is thoughtfully furnished and stocked with many family-friendly touches of home, including books, movies, games, puzzles, and more.

The guest house has been furnished to create a healthy, serene, and peaceful environment for your stay. The guest house will only be rented to non-smokers - no exceptions. The 650-square foot guest house can accommodate two people comfortably, and will sleep up to four people in one queen bed and one queen sleeper sofa. The bedroom is comfortably furnished with a queen size bed, bedside tables, shelves, and a five-drawer dresser inside a spacious walk-in closet. You’ll find a 6’ couch in the living room which folds out into a very comfortable queen size memory foam sleeper. All linens are provided. The full bathroom has all new fixtures and furnishings including a tub and spacious tiled shower, an ultra quiet bath fan, and brand new washer/dryer. All flooring is new, including plush carpet in the bedroom.

The kitchen is well-equipped and furnished with all new stainless steel kitchen appliances, including a full-size smooth-top electric cookstove and oven, an 18” “silent” (46 DBA) dishwasher, and a French-door refrigerator with ice maker and water dispenser. You’ll also find a microwave, coffee maker, Keurig and K-cups, juicer, blender, toaster, an easy-to-clean granite composite sink with electric disposal, and many other features to make your dining-in experience easy and convenient.

The guest house is a non-smoking establishment with all the modern amenities such as cable on a 42” flat screen HDTV, DVD player, and free wi-fi internet. This walk-out garden apartment was designed with a distinctive separate entry that feels like home, a 100 square foot private patio with BBQ grill and shaded seating, a large garden area, and free off-street parking well lit for safety and convenience.

You’ll find lots of light in this newly redone guest house, accented by stylish mahogany trimmed windows. The daylight design allows the guest house to stay cool, even on the hottest days. For cooler nights, stay comfortable with an electric fireplace, insulated windows, and cozy furnishings. Wall heaters create the perfect temperature in each room utilizing separately zoned thermostats.

We also want to provide you with every opportunity to live sustainably, even while on vacation, if you should choose. We have provided equipment such as a compost bin, plastic bag dryer, recycle bin, laundry washing ball, and energy efficient appliances. We converted the fenced-in rear yard to a water-wise landscape, and the garden setting is representative of the intermountain west grasslands. We maintain several fruit trees on the property—plum, pear, apple, and cherry—and our guests are free to make use of any fruit in season.

SO MUCH BETTER THAN A HOTEL!

The Garden City Guest House is without doubt the best place I've ever had the good fortune to rent. The owner did a great job designing and finishing the space so that it is functional and spacious, but also attractive and homey. Tons of amenities in the bath and kitchen make the place even better. (Things like good shampoo, Q-tips and tissues, kitchen gadgets and appliances, spices and other pantry staples [a lot more than you would expect!], fresh eggs....but also things you might need but didn't bring, like an umbrella, extra tote bags, etc.)

The owner also did a great job making sure we'd know everything we needed to know to park, get into the house, operate stuff in the house, etc. Communicated well and enough that we knew we could rely on her for advice/meeting our needs, without overdoing it.

On top of all that, the backyard gardens were beautiful and so pleasant to walk through on our way in and out of the property. We definitely found ourselves glad to have at least one day that we could spend mostly "at home" so we could really enjoy the place.

You will not be sorry if you rent this place! I have been to Missoula twice before, and very happily stayed with relatives both times. This time we were in town for a wedding, and other folks were staying with the relatives. It will be a hard choice to make on the next trip, because this place is so great!!

Five Stars Say It All

The standard set by Jennie is the standard all VRBO's should aspire to. Quality everything including appliances, craftmanship, decor and attention to all details. Kitchen cupboards well stocked, games in the living room cabinets, dresser in the closet, slippers and robes if you forgot yours, plenty of seating at the bar, couch or dining table. I love that we composted food scraps in a clean composting pail (we do the same at home) and that there was a separate container for recycling. (Come on, Missoula, recycle glass, too!) It was simply a very comfortable living experience. Jennie has information binders to answer questions about the home and all about Missoula. We spent five nights. Sensor lighting in the parking area and when walking down the steps towards the entrance are a welcome evening safety feature. We walked to a Griz game in about 15 minutes. A grocery store, deli and cafe within five minutes walk. The location is perfect and all for a very reasonable rate. Yes, you may hear footsteps above, it is basement living, but it's almost comforting and with the quality of construction material, noises are muffled. For basement living it's more light in the house than I would have thought, with windows in the bedroom, living area and kitchen. Jennie was there when we arrived as we had texted ahead, however, her arrival procedure requires only a password to let yourself in. My only complaint, the mattress could be a bit more firm. Personal preference, I guess. I recommend staying here, and we would come back!

Great little space!

We had a fun weekend at the house. The check-in and check-out processes were easy and surrounded by ample communication. The place itself was in tip-top shape and had all of the towels, bedding, blankets and conveniences of a true home. In a fun little neighborhood about a $10 Uber ride from downtown. Their are only thing keeping it from being 5 stars: 1) since it is a garden apartment, you can absolutely hear the folks walking around and talking upstairs, which wasn't ideal and 2) the pillows on the bed are pretty lousy and make noise and weren't great for sleep. Other than that we had a great time!

My first reaction was...wow!

I could live here. Delightfully decorated, comfortably furnished and extremely well equipped and maintained for a vacation rental. Missoula seems to have a lot to offer for outdoor enthusiasts. Unfortunately, wildfires in the area led to our decision to shorten our stay.so we didn't get to do as much in the area as we would have liked. We did manage to take a nice evening walk along Rattlesnake Creek Trail and we managed to do a couple nearby hikes the next morning before the smoke rolled back in. We would love to visit again someday and definitely would stay here again.

Cancellation Policy:
Bookings canceled at least 14 days before the start of the stay will receive a 100% refund.
Bookings canceled at least 7 days before the start of the stay will receive a 50% refund.
To avoid forfeiture of your payment, please cancel reservations at least 15 days prior to your check-in date. We definitely do not want you to pay for a stay that you cannot enjoy!
