Perched on the edge of the Atlantic ocean, on Bradleys Cove Road in Western Bay, this charming one bedroom cottage is the ultimate getaway for a couple or a single person who are looking for that special place to unwind and enjoy nature at its best. An artists haven, you can set up your easel and paint the dramatic coastline without leaving your large private deck. Wake up in the morning to the sounds of loons and Kittiwakes and take your morning coffee to the private whale watching dock located at the edge of the property. Enjoy the unique chic nautical décor of the cottage with its bright colours and large windows with a panoramic view of the dramatic coastline. The modern kitchen has all new stainless steel appliances and all the utensils, and condiments you will need for cooking and baking. It has a modern bathroom with luxurious towels and linens, shower, sink and toilet. The bedroom features a queen size bed with high quality linens. We also have a small herb garden for your personal use. If your stay will be for a special occasion, and you would like fresh flowers or a special wine, or some other special request, please ask and we will try to accommodate you. Please note that the scenery along this coast is some of the most beautiful you will find anywhere, but there are cliffs and a rough coastline so when you are enjoying the many opportunities for exploration, you need to use caution at all times. Amazing stay at Kiittiwake Cottage

Kittiwake Cottage: Wow, what an amazing trip and stay at the cottage. Nothing but warmth surrounded us as soon as we stepped out of our car rental and into the cottage, fresh flowers and plants, kitchen filled with everything that you need from spices, condiments, butter, bottled water, BBQ sauce, ketchup, mustard, relish, mayonnaise, coffee, sugars, oils, peanut butter, jams, flour and much more. Kitti had a bottle of wine and a welcoming card on the table and called to recommend surrounding areas, offered the use of anything in the cottage and informed there was fresh cod in the freezer. There were cards, puzzles, games, brochures/maps for the surrounding areas, new flip flops and outdoor blankets. The bathroom was fully stocked with toilet paper, towels, hand towels, face clothes, new toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, dental floss, and bathroom freshener. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed for cooking. Washer/dryer combo with detergent, TV with a variety of channels and a working music system. The touches that were put into this cottage have been very well thought out and creative. Outside was just amazing, BBQ, fresh herb garden for your disposal, flower, plants, ample sitting areas, two on the deck facing the ocean and one right on the edge of the property which allowed you to sit in paradise. Everything was very modern and unique. The trip to St. John’s was amazing but going to this cottage gave us the peace and serenity that we so needed.

Don't miss out on this amazing place

There are many nice cottages for stays all throughout Newfoundland, but I feel there are none so nice as this beautiful little cottage at Western Bay. The location is amazing with beauty in all directions. The cottage is beautiful inside and out, and of course spotless and very comfortable. But there are so many things beyond this. The yard of the cottage is beautifully landscaped with flower and gardens, including an herb box so you can have fresh herbs for cooking. Every detail inside is carefully thought out to provide a comfortable and pleasant stay. The kitchen boasts the basics, but also all of the condiments and spices so you can do true flavorful cooking instead of merely heating something up. If you've forgotten anything, there are spares provided. You'll know just how special this place is when you walk in and find the bottle of wine and perhaps a surprize in the fridge. We have stayed many very nice places in Newfoundland, but this is by far the best.

Absolutely an amazing experience!

If you are looking to decompress this is the place to go. Lots to do within a 3 or 4 hr radius and the cottage had everything you need and then some. The hosts have thought of everything. The best Vrbo experience we've had. Thank you Kitty! Jane and Rollie

The owner is a retired medical professional who has a family vacation home in the area and has been spending weekends and summers here for 20 years and found that when you are here your body and soul are in the same place and the peace and tranquility will rejuvenate your senses. When this little cottage became available she thought she would share this great experience with other people.

This little cottage allows visitors to enjoy all that is Newfoundland. The views are breathtaking and one visitor to the whale watching dock amusingly said that the whales were closer than at SeaWorld.
