Why Stay With Us?
We LOVE Breckenridge and have spent many summers and winters enjoying all the wonderful activities it has to offer. We've been opening our 'mountain hideaways' to guests for several years. Unlike hotels and management companies who often employ seasonal workers that are not as familiar with the town, with us you will receive a virtual packet with suggestions for activities, money saving discounts, restaurants and more....all from experienced owners. Our 11 and 6 year olds have been skiing since they were in diapers so as mom, I'm happy give you plenty of child friendly advice!
Additionally, keep in mind there can be a disparity among different units in terms of quality, upkeep and views. When renting from hotels and management companies you will never know what quality of unit you are receiving even if you put in a special request. You can relax knowing that you will be staying in an upscale condo with beautiful views and a great location in town.
I also have booking access to a 2 bedroom (sleeps 6) in Mountain Thunder Lodge directly across the hall that overlooks the ski run. HomeAway# 4117705. This is a great option for groups traveling together that may need a larger unit and can be booked in conjunction with one another. Let me know if you would like additional information.
We have partnered with a local management company in case of emergencies and they are available 24/7.
Providing you with a great experience and trip is my passion and am always available to answer any questions!

Your owners are Jim, Tanya and our 2 sons, 11 and 6. We've lived abroad in both New Zealand and Latvia and love to travel. Some of the best memories we've had are through these experiences which is why we love to come to Breckenridge. We love the outdoors as does our 11 year old who is probably the only one in his class that knows that the best gondolas and chairlifts are made in Switzerland! We are happy to share our knowledge of the town and answer any questions you may have to make your stay with us the best it can be.
There's a saying in Texas, 'I wasn't born here but I got here as fast as I could.' Well, we feel the same way about Colorado. We would find ourselves coming back to Colorado year after year and Breckenridge always seemed to top our list. It has a little bit of everything one looks for in a mountain destination. Historical charm, great mountains and views, amazing restaurants and shopping, tons of activities for not only adults but kids too. Not to mention easier accessibility from both Denver and Colorado Springs, with less major passes to overcome than with Vail. It was the logical choice for us to choose a place where we could create family memories during the four beautiful seasons Breckenridge has to offer and we are delighted to be able to share our mountain hideaway with you too.

The apartment provides everything you need and more for your stay in Breckenridge. It is well taken care of and everybody at the property is very nice and accommodating. We travelled with a baby and loved that fact that we had a nice big living area where the little want to cruise around. The kitchen was fully equipped and the bathroom nice and new. The common area was nicely set and there is a whirlpool and a grill area. The only thing that needs improving is the community gas grill. It is not working properly and either needs to be fixed or replaced. All in all it is a great place that we plan to come back to!
We had a great experience with both of the condos where we stayed in Breckenridge. The condo at Mountain Thunder Lodge was not available for the full 11 days we were to be there, so the owners offered another place up the mountain at One Ski Hill for the last few days at the same price as MTL. They could not have been more accommodating and easy to work with. Both of the condos were in great condition....comfy beds, nice shower, everything you would need to cook in. We will definitely contact them again for our next trip to Breckenridge!
I was inclined to give this property a three-star rating, however, I'd like to think staying in this unit would be much different during the winter/ski season. We have stayed in Summit county lodging properties for 20+ years, so have seen and experienced many different properties ranging from hotel rooms to condos to entire houses. While this condo was well furnished with the exception of the kitchen, its location within the main building made it a miserable stay during the summer. The windows on the rear overlook the main circular entrance of Mountain Thunder Lodge which means there are cars and people coming, going, talking loudly at all hours. Because we were renting during July and, like most lodging in Summit county, the unit doesn't have AC and therefore you must open your windows at night. The windows were casement (side-opening) with pull up blinds; in order to get any air flow you had to raise the blind which allowed in a great deal of light due to the street lamps surrounding the Lodge entrance.
The kitchen was lacking in our experienced opinion. In one of the drawers was an inventory list dated Aug 2003, but it was clear that a review of missing items had not been done in some time. For example, out of the (6) iced tea glasses, there was only one; another type of glass had 4 of 6. There were only (2) smaller spoons in the flatware drawer so had to use the large-size spoons. Additionally, there were no flat baking sheets such as a cookie sheet, pizza pan, not even the broiler pan which was indicated on the inventory sheet. There were no basic kitchen necessities such as salt and pepper shakers. The coffee maker has to be the least expensive you can purchase as it had no ability to set a timer to brew coffee, nor an auto-shutoff which actually could be a danger were it to be left on accidentally.
I realize this review sounds harsh, but because we depend heavily on the reviews of prior renters we would want to be honestly informed. As stated, if the owners were to stock the kitchen more thoroughly and you were renting during a season where you could keep windows and blinds closed, this is a very nice rental unit and I could make a recommendation.
Once again we enjoyed our stay. Nice comfortable place with nice view of mountains. Convenient to town and the slopes. Owner is very responsive and we look forward to another visit.
This condo is excellent. It is bigger than it appears in the pictures, and lived up to what was advertised. From the underground parking to the ski lockers and proximity to the slopes, we will definitely stay here again. The owner shared great information prior to our trip making our stay easy to plan (car rental (Silvercar is the best!), restaurants, lift tickets, etc.). The location is great as you can ski home at the end of a long day, and either walk to the gondola, or take the free shuttle to one of the other base ski lifts. The unit was clean and did not feel run down. I would certainly recommend this property to friends and family staying at Breck!
We enjoyed our return visit to this condo at Mountain Thunder Lodge. Very nice place, comfortable and everything we expected. Nice view from the deck and all the furnishings are very nice and up to date. The only issue (nothing to do with this particular unit) was there was a large loud CU fraternity up for the weekend at Mountain Thunder. A little surprised that one of the nicest Lodges in Breck would accommodate a group of this nature. Otherwise I highly recommend this and the owner was super responsive when leasing and having questions.
