We are the Kramer family. The ladies of this family had the opportunity of spending most of their lives in this little town. It has long been a dream to own a piece of it and we look forward to sharing those dreams with you.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kramer purchased this house in 2011
Featuring seven gables, missing siding and .3 acres of overgrown grape vines, fruit trees and gardens, the property had long been an eye sore to the community. The potential had to be seen from any prospective buyer, but to an individual yearning for a piece of home it was perfect.
Resting on a large corner lot with big old trees, well established fruits and and a large covered port this home was worth reclaiming.
In 2013 the remodel and upgrades began and the home is now ready to share.
Wrap around porches, sidewalks and shade trees make this a unique Kanab experience. Temperatures reach over 100 degrees in the summer, be prepared with this lay out.
Another wonderful feature of this home is its spa like atmosphere that hails in comparison to most local honeymoon suites. This home is a prime option for a small event or honeymoon getaway.
Each area of the home and property displays a unique feature and close attention to comfort and functionality.
"Thank you for the wonderful stay! The house was warm and welcoming; we would definitely reccomend this place for people looking to stay in this area."
I rented this house for a visit to Kanab in September. My mom lives in Kanab but has a very small place, so we needed a house that would be close by and room enough for myself, sisters, niece and her dog. I chose this house after speaking to the owner and learning about the renovations, location, etc., and that they were dog friendly. In addition to the house being very nice, it has a wonderful porch with a swing, rockers, and a nice view. I spent a lot of time out there visiting with my mom, it was great. Coming from the heat of Texas, it was nice to be outside and enjoy cooler weather. The huge backyard has a BBQ grill, table, and firepit. The kitchen has a large table to accommodate us for dinner and board games. The downstairs bedroom is very large with a separate dressing area and big bathroom (with a shower and huge jacuzzi tub). Upstairs are2 bedrooms, a small sitting area and a very nice bathroom. The house is bright and cheery. We felt so at home, now when my mom drives by and sees a car in the driveway she tells me that "someone is at our house"! I would recommend this house to anyone, the price was fabulous and you can't beat the location. The stairs in the house are fairly steep and narrow without a handrail, so if someone has a disability with a hard time of getting up and down stairs, make sure they can have the downstairs bedroom. We visited Best Friends, the north rim of the Grand Canyon and went zip-lining (there's a place off the hwy just a few miles out of town, highly recommend that one). We didn't go to Bryce or Zions this year, but have been there before. All parks are with 1-2 hours of Kanab. I am fairly certain that we'll rent the house next year when we come for another visit, in fact I need to look at my calendar and get my reservation in!
This house in Kanab is such a gem! I was there for over a month for a business trip and I loved every minute. The place is very big with a large fenced in backyard with really cool grape vines draped round it. The house is updated and so cozy inside and out, the jacuzzi tub helps that too:) Grace the host is a wonderful person who goes out of her way to assure everything is going perfectly. I would rate this place and host a 11 out of 10. When I go back to Kanab and I will be staying here again!!!
My family and I had a great stay at The Kanab House over the holidays. The accommodations were modern, roomy, and held a certain touch of home that fit perfectly with our family get together. The Kanab House is walking distance from Main Street, and centrally located to serve as a base camp for day trips to Zion, Bryce Canyon, Escalante, the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, etc., and was relaxing to return to at the end of the day.
We definitely plan to stay at the Kanab House for our future visits.
Best accommodations in town!
One qualm I have with this listing. One star rating -- I aimed a hassel-free vacation house, this was not that. Below is the email that the owner and I exchanged over hairs I found in the beds upon arrival, plus my open response to I am writing now. This exchange ended at two emails, I did not see the point to continue then, as I started my holiday and owners' and customers' approaches on things were at odds. Yet, after the trip, I strongly feel I should share my experience with my fellow travellers. Be warned -- you guys decide.
A) I do not work at CSI, so I don't carry proper signages to neither label nor bag all hairs on the beds like a crime scene specialist, nor our iPhone, regrettably, is armed with special technology for photoing hairs on bed sheet clearly and vividly, as that occasion is indeed rare worldwide. Moreover, some hairs are wavy, not because my hands were shaky, just because they were the way they look. To that, I am astonished that you saw three hairs from the photos that were sent you, not four, not five, nor six. B) I just originally wished to signal there were hairs on three beds, not three hairs on beds. The bed sheets were not cleaned before the check-in. C) In short, we found hairs, quite a number of them, at 11:30p.m. on the day of check-in before we went to bed. We were not hair polices, never taking an active effort to search for any. But the sheer number of them alerted us. To the point that we stripped all the beds, put them in the washer, then the dryer, and make the beds again, before sleeping in them. Customers' mood could not have been any merrier. E) We are not material scientists, never keen on discovering materials of your sheets or pillow cases. Thanks for telling us what they were. Glad to have spent 2hr with microfiber. F) At the end of the day, sleeping on strangers' hairs is not normal.
The host writes: "Good morning.
I saw your pictures and can see three hairs stuck to the sheets. That can happen with microfiber sheets sometimes when removed from the dryer.
I can tell that the sheets are fresh as there are no wrinkles.
I apologize that a few hairs were stuck to the sheets but I can assure you the sheets are fresh clean and changed.
If you have any further concerns please call me. Thank you."
I originally write: "Good morning. Attached some photos. Sheets were not changed before our check-in."
This charming little blue-green house was just perfect for our vacation stop in Kanab. There was excellent internet connection allowing everyone to sign in.. access our Netflix as well!! The beds were comfy, the bathrooms well set up with ample towels, the kitchen & laundry facilities offered everything we needed. The yard was lovely and we truly enjoyed relaxing on the front porch. Thanks so much!!
This beautiful house blew us away and exceeded our expectations. The house was clean, very comfortable, convenient, spacious and lacked nothing. Kanab, UT which is a great central location if visiting area attractions is a great little town. We fell in love with the town and ate at some wonderful restaurants including but not limited to Sego and Juniper Ridge. Highly recommended and can’t wait to come back again.
