THE COTTAGE AWAITS YOU ON THE EASTERN SHORE OF CLEARWATER LAKE
RELAX and enjoy watching the water from your cottage that sits 30 feet from the shore of the lake.
Go for an early morning walk.
Lay in the hammock and read a good book.
Kids can swing all day long on the rope swing that goes out over the lake.
Take in the breathtaking sunsets as you sit on the spacious deck.
Sit around the fire on the beach as evening falls. Listen to the eternal sound of the Loons making their nightly call. Roast marsh-mellows before a comfortable nights rest.
EXPLORE the over 3200 acres of the lake that also has access to three other lakes. Bring your own boat (2 landings on the lake or land it right on site), or rent "Old Yeller" a 1977 Leisure Pontoon. Great for Fishing, Swimming or just Cruising. (In the pictures)
Ride around on the WaterWheeler Electric Paddle Boat (Seats 3). That's right it's a paddle boat with a built in trolling motor, so you can paddle all you want or drop the motor down and cruise. INCLUDED! (Exercise can be overrated when all you want is a good tan.)
Then there are the 2 Kayaks that will give your arms a workout, but are a blast to cruise around the lake.
DINE in the Waterfront restaurant, ON THE LAKE, or The Hitching Post Sports Bar & Grill just down the road. Many others located in Annandale (6 miles) or Clearwater (9 miles).
FISH off the dock for pan fish & bass, or boat out 100 yards to the best fishing Minnesota Lakes have to offer: Walleye, Large Mouth Bass, Northern Pike, Crappie. This is an awesome lake to fish! Especially, if you like to catch fish, because you will!
And There is NO SLOT LIMIT for Walleyes on the lake! (State regulations limit to 6 Walleyes with only one over 20 inches per fishing license.)
GOLF at one of several courses just minutes away.

Both Randy and I grew up in the western suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota. We have two wonderful daughters and their spouses and 3 terrific grandchildren.
Carol Maanum purchased this cottage in 1979
This property has been in our family since the 70's. When mom was with us, it was known as 'Norma's Cottage'. At The Cottage, her spirit was filled with joy and happiness. It was her wish that The Cottage would continue to be a place of joy and happiness for generations to come.
Since we began to share our treasure, many priceless memories have been made.
We would love to share The Cottage with you, so that your families precious memories include your time at The Cottage on Clearwater Lake.
To lay in the hammock, gazing up at the cottonwoods, their leaves shaking to the rhythm of the breeze. Our last dinner, frying pan fish given to us by the neighbor.
As we drove home on 55 we'll remember our paddle boat trip. The comfort of the Cottage, the sound of the loons and of the acorns landing on the deck.
Even in the rain, The Cottage never lost it's charm, the big window holding dear the variegated sky.
I've read that heaven is a little closer in a place by the water, and in this place we felt serene.
Thank you very much, Randy & Carol, for opening your doors for us and sharing your wonderful Cottage. We had so much fun exploring & taking everything in. What a great Labor Day Weekend! We hope others enjoy it as much as we did.
