As a Croatian-born Canadian, I only got to know the island of Brac and its capital town, Supetar, during a recent vacation. I immediately knew this was a very special place, it was that 'je ne sais quoi' feeling of peace, tranquillity, artistic inspiration, but also with a vibrant entertainment scene. With its proximity to Split and a reliable ferry service, it is in an ideal location to explore the island as well as to use it as a base for mainland exploration. We were in this apartment on July 2017 the whole family (2 adults and 4 kids). Ksenija was very helpful and she had a lot of good advices for us. Apartment is as described. Location for people who like to walk or who plan to ride the car. Last part of way to apartment (150-200 m) is bumped and rocked - for pushchair it's a great challenge. :-) But view from terrace... great! Ksenija thank you for everything. I was very good time with finished too fast...

I agree with you re. the unpaved part of the road, we are working with town authorities to expedite the paving process. In the meantime, we plan to fill in the pot-holes ourselves and I am advising my guests who need a baby-carriage of this challenge. Excellent location and wonderful views.

A well appointed apartment on the top floor with a lovely balcony. Enjoyed having all our meals outside and were grateful there was always shade as it was very hot.

A good location for exploring the island and access to the ferry.

Everything we needed was provided and the owner was always available via email to answer questions. Nearby beach was delightful and excellent restaurants within easy reach.

Fantastic place to stay!

We stayed for 10 nights the apartment is very modern and clean, use of the swimming was ideal for our youngest. Had a great stay, only minor thing about the location of the apartment is the 10 mins walk from the centre itself. We called it " Heartbreak hill" that is the only criticism, you can hire scooters, cars etc. Lots of bars and restaurants, great time at the beach. At the end of the day a great view out to sea from the balcony, nice scene to relax with a beer or wine. Ksenija was very helpful throughout the stay which was ideal.

Our 100 meters of uphill unpaved road was recently filled in a bit, not paved yet but an improvement. Yes, walking back from town centre in the evening sure makes for a well-deserved drink on the balcony followed by restful sleep. Hope to host you again!

Very nice property with very helpful owner...beautiful views

This property perches on the edge of the lovely town of Supetar. It is a steady climb walking out of town but it is very manageable and the views more than make up for it. Watching the sun set with a glass of wine on the balcony is magical.

The pool is small but big enough to have a plunge and cool off after a hot day.

Supetar is a nice town with some great restaurants. Try the Home brew at the Beer Garden. Brac is a lovely island and well worth exploring - though we learnt by experience that it is wise to stick to the main roads.

The property is at the end of an unmade road and is difficult to find the first time. Make sure you have good directions.

Lovely accomodation in Supetar

The two bedroom apartment is modern, well furnished and appointed with everything we needed for our stay. The wine and sweet treat provided by the owner was very thoughtful and much appreciated. The view from the balcony is magnificent and we enjoyed sitting on the lovely balcony. The sandy beach is about a ten minute walk from the apartment and the lovely harbour area offers a nice selection of very reasonable restaurants. We enjoyed our stay in Brac and appreciated the wonderful service provided by the owner.

Nice Apartment Let Down By Owner

We visited this property in July 2016. Having researched its location in Googlemaps we knew it was a 20 minute walk to the harbour area. This needs taking into account if you have smaller children and plan to walk to the beach during the day and then again into town at night for a meal.

The pool was out of use, although arrangement were made to use a nearby pool although we were asked to record our usage. The out of use pool to the rear of the property had not been emptied, was green/stagnant and a breeding ground for mosquitos. As a result we had to have the windows to the master bedroom shut, particularly in the evening. As the master bedroom doesn't have its own air conditioning it was then necessary to have the interior master bedroom door open to get the benefit of the one a/c unit in the living room. So not great for privacy.

The apartment is nicely appointed and nicely accommodates a family of four, with two toilets and showers.

Wifi usage is shared with other apartment users and we did have a disagreement about the amount of data used in the week. The owner alleged, and offered no proof, that we had used 27GB of data over the week. A ridiculous assertion given that we were out pretty much all day and evening. The cost of the alleged usage was deducted from our deposit.

We unfortunately had an issue with the washing machine in that the door wouldn't release, despite following the printed instructions left by the owner. This was deemed to be our fault and we were charged for not only the repair, but also the cost of using an alternate machine for the end of week laundry at change over.

I was looking for a relaxing holiday and I didn't get it due to the owner.

Owner's Response: Tony, it was disappointing to read your Review posted 5 months after your stay; especially since both I and my 2 assistants went above and beyond to provide you with excellent service and timely, professional updates on the issues which your family created. We made an extra effort to accommodate your early arrival, greeted you with gifts, remained calm and courteous while dealing with "less than ideal" guests. And in the end, withheld exactly the amount of damage deposit that you incurred while not even charging you for the inappropriate & wasteful A/C usage. In response to your specific concerns: *MOSQUITOES: The apartment is situated up a hill, constant breeze, mosquitoes are rare – my guests spend evenings on the balcony. And, large door to the balcony from the Master Bdrm has a FULL mosquito screen; with breeze cooling the space, no need to keep the bedroom-hallway door open. * WI-FI USAGE: Tony was informed daily of large data usage, incl. Internet Provider's web page screen shots, and how much it will cost for over-usage. He wrote me admitting his two teen girls were typical teen users of social media (Facetime, posting photos etc) and to deduct the over-usage cost from his damage deposit. * Re. WASHING MACHINE: Teen guests spilled juice onto bed-linens and Tony reported doing one wash and after drying, linens needed another wash. Tony then reported a problem with the washer. My assistant went to see it -- linens inside were dry, there was no detergent in the pull-out drawer. She showed Tony who was surprised that a drawer is used for that purpose. The door latch was hanging loose, broken. She took photos so that there could be no misunderstanding -- the door was forced open without pushing in the latch to release it. The repairman confirmed this damage cause. ADDITIONAL INFO: * My assistant was overseeing the washer repairman, noticed it was freezing in the apartment; A/C was set to 18 degrees C., Fan on continuous while guests were in Split all day! Tony was advised to please help conserve energy; he admitted to high A/C use throughout. FACTS OF the DAMAGE DEPOSIT REFUND: * I did not charge Tony for the extreme electrical use, in constantly running the A/C at 18 degrees. Most apartment owners do charge a fee for such wasteful use of energy. * Damage costs included (Washing Machine Repair + Extra Cleaning / Laundry Service due to broken washer + Wi-Fi over-usage per internet provider fee), for a TOTAL of 130 Euro ($180 Cdn) WITHHELD

Good - spacious and clean apartment

Kesenija’s place is really spacious and clean with great facilities and nice high ceilings. It was really clean and tidy and was a great base from which to explore the area.

The apartment has a great view looking north towards Split and the balcony could seat all four of us comfortably for meals around the table. Most of the sun is actually towards the back of the house but the balcony off the bedroom is quite small and unfurnished.

It was great to have a few basics provided and wine and a cake too, which was a lovely touch.

The pool was unavailable for us and by the look of the rear garden, it does not really get used by anyone. An alternate pool was kindly arranged but we opted not to use it as it was less convenient to walk around the properties to access it.

The location was incorrectly displayed on the HomeAway map (probably because the road is still unfinished). In reality, it is adjacent to the main road and whilst that makes it easy to get to and fro, there is a fair bit of road noise from cars and trucks heading to the port.

Getting into town is really easy – just a 20min walk down the hill. Self-catering is always a bit harder without an oven but there are lots of reasonably priced eateries to choose from. Supetar is far nicer than the guide books told us and we really enjoyed our time there.

It was great to have some access to wifi, albeit a 3G connection that is shared with another apartment. I’m not sure how the usage is monitored if it is shared, but it at least enabled us to have some basic connectivity when we needed it.

Ksenija was very quick to respond to my questions and queries. She gave us quite a few tips as to how to make the best of our visit and Maja, who met us and showed us around the apartment, was really friendly and helpful too.

Owner's Response: A few clarifications: - it is a 10 minute walk to the town promenade, not 20 - the main road is not adjacent to the property, but behind an olive grove and then below ground level which ensures a quiet location... also, trucks do not travel during the night... - the back balcony (off the master bedroom) is smaller but gets sun all day, so guests can benefit from having the clothes drying rack there for their beach gear (and also since a washing machine is part of the apartment) - this property is advertised as having a glass cooktop (4 elements) and a build-in microwave oven... it is each guest's choice to book either this apartment vs. my other apartment which has a traditional oven but no microwave (same price)... - each set of guests gets 3 Gb of free high speed wi-fi per week... 3 Gb is not shared with other guests... I provide a regular usage status update so guests know if they are reaching a limit and may choose to order additional data.
