Kristan Evans purchased this house in 2014
This property is perfect for a large group, and is so close to famous Old Town Pasadena and the Rose Bowl.
Huge front porch is always cool and refreshing. La Pintoresca Park is a great little park with a library and plenty to do under the lovely Jeffrey and Deodar Pines, playground for all ages, picnic, BBQ, basketball, skateboard park, and water play in the summer, only 1/2 block away!
We had a great time in your house! Everyone loved all the music pix!
This is what we loved:
Plenty of hot water for showers!
Good space for eating, cooking, "gathering" et al.
We would certainly recommend to others!
It was good to meet you. We thank you for all your hard work to create a home for people to create memories in Pasadena.
We came to stay for a week for a softball tournament. I did not receive the contract, thus the information to get the keys to the house until 3 am the morning we were to arrive. I traveled 11 hours via van that day and running around trying to find a kinkos to print, sign and return the contract was very inconvenient. This could have been handled much sooner.
Once we arrived, about 7pm on the 25th, we found the home clean, but very hot. It was 90 degrees in the home. We contacted the property manager, and while she tried to be of assistance, two of our party ended up getting in the attic to get the a/c to work, at least upstairs. The air never did get cool on the main floor the entirety of our stay. We noticed the stove had no stove grates. We could not cook and had to eat out a majority of our meals. There were only 5 towels for a house stated to sleep 15. We bought our own. There was broken furniture we could not sit on. There was no TV as stated in the description. There was a very large ant infestation throughout the entire house. This was solved by us going to Home Depot and applying what they recommended. The "locked gate" was broken and appeared to have not been in working order for some time. It appears the home was recently rennovated and simply not ready to be rented upon our arrival. The location was great and I think it could have been a much better stay. The biggest let down was the lack of communication to a solution when our stay was concluded. It was promised the owner and property manager would work with us in a resolution. They stopped communication completely just over a month ago. I will not stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone.
The house was comfortable, and the location was great - easy access to freeways, in a nice residential area, yet close to shopping and downtown Pasadena. (We were there for the wedding of a family member, so we did not do much sight-seeing. We did, however, walk around Pasadena a few times, and enjoyed it.) We had little children with us, and found several parks and playgrounds within walking distance, as well as grocery store, drug store and Starbucks close by.
The kitchen does not have many pots and pans, but there was enough for simple family meal prep. Otherwise, it had everything we needed - dishwasher, coffee maker, dishes, etc. Also, the beds were comfortable, and there were plenty of towels in the bathrooms.
The property manager was very nice, and handled our questions and concerns quickly. The first few days we were there, the first floor furnace did not work, but the property manager brought space heaters to help until the repairman could come.
I would recommend this house for your family or group.
The property was in excellent condition, with ample off street parking and with the 6 clean, comfortable bedrooms it is very convenient for a large group on a outing.
The large kitchen, dining area and living areas allowed for our entire group of 9 to get together. The location is in a nice neighbor hood, minutes from the Pasadena business area.
The house was excellent for our needs of sleeping arrangements and a nice gathering place to visit. The only issue was the cleaning policy before we left as it took several hours to get laundry done, we ended up using both the house washer and dryer and the laundromat around the corner. Streets were nice for walking and stores nearby. Parking was nice to have off street. It was very hot and they provided fans after we asked for them.
This is a pleasant property. There is ample room and good facilities. Rock posters make the ambiance fun and the location is convenient. Good kitchen and large bedrooms. Only two bathrooms but six of us functioned well and did not wait to use facilities. Cleaning policy is uncomfortable. There is a cleaning fee but your are expected to clean before you leave and launder the linens. I have not experienced this in other VRBO properties. With this exception, I really enjoyed this property.
Our family of 12 stayed over the New Year at Raymond Retreat to watch our Audrey march with her Colorado band in the Rose Parade. The house was perfect! It was adult comfortable and kid friendly. All the necessities were provided -- they even honored our last minute request for a grill. The living space on the first floor was ideal for gathering -- all together or in small clusters. The kitchen was well equipped -- and big enough for everyone to put in their 2 cents about how best to cook! The bedrooms, all named after a famous musical group, had new mattresses -- firm but comfortable. Our young boys had the "Beatles Room" -- they're too young to know how famous they are, but we have a picture they'll appreciate when they get older. Owners were gracious hosts and made us feel very welcome in their home. They provided lots of information on where to shop, the best food, and how to get around town (it was particularly tricky the day of the Parade). We would recommend the house without hesitation! We did a lot of walking, but we'd probably recommend having access to a car.
