About Vacasa, CA - Northern California Coast Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental managementthings like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Beautiful property

  • 5 of 5

LoVeD this property. The artwork and decor was neat. Felt very cozy. The huge window in the living room was picture perfect.

Was not impressed with the Vacasa service. Would not rent through this company again.

Peace and quiet

  • 4 of 5

This mountain cabin was a beautiful surprise. The place is well stocked with DVDs, televisions, books and games. It has a great wood burning stove with plenty of firewood. We never used any of them. The ocean view from the living room, the spa, the cottontail rabbits, and many birds were enough. All of us enjoy reading and this is the place to do it.

The two bedroom are really 2 private suites. The lower bedroom opens to the spa, while the other bedroom is on the main living area. This is an ideal cabin for two couples.

House is great - Customer service leaves room for improvement

  • 5 of 5

The house is wonderful, the area is great. The way the doors are setup makes it easy to lock yourself out. I was locked out and called for help. over 90 minutes later someone returned my call asking me to check for a 2nd lock box (which did not exist).

A little too isolated and rustic for us city folk

  • 3 of 5

We spent 3 nights here and enjoyed the beauty of the area. The sunsets, the cliffs and the ocean views along HWY 1, as well as views from the cabin, were spectacular. But the cabin itself was just a bit disappointing. The kitchen and full bath lacked in the quality, space and features I expected. Yes I know this is a cabin, but I was still surprised by the teeny tiny shower and the lack of garbage disposal and dishwasher and the low water pressure. Also wasn't thrilled with the location of the second bedroom being outside and downstairs...maybe if we had a couple of teenage boys with us. I guess we are not used to cabin life...a little too isolated and rustic for us. Everyone's different!

Forest Ranch, CA

An honest review

  • 4 of 5

If you are a big or tall person, or if you have mobility issues, move on to the next house. This is a charming, SMALL, older cabin in the woods with a stunning view of the ocean out of the picture window in the living room. The kitchen is small, truly one person only. At 5'2" I found it to be perfectly sized for me. The bathroom was tiny...I found it difficult to turn around in the shower. The upstairs bedroom is narrow because at some time, a closet was added to the room giving you a foot of clearance on either side of the queen sized bed. The bed was extremely comfortable...good mattress, great pillows. The downstairs bedroom, which is actually detached from the main house is much larger, with a king sized bed and 1/2 bath. There are two reasons we didn't use that room. One, being detached from the rest of the house, it was somewhat inconvenient and it had a strange, musty, old basement smell to it. We tried leaving the window and door open, but the smell remained the same. There are large, flat screen TV's in both the living and upstairs bedrooms, with a bundle of wires hanging down the wall...not attractive, and really, in a cabin that is so relaxing, so far removed from the rest of the world, so perfect for just experiencing peace and quiet, the TV's aren't really needed. Being an old mountain cabin, electrical outlets were scarce, and you couldn't really leave the windows open as there were no screens. The wood burner was easy to light and warmed up the home beautifully. There was plenty of wood and fire starters. The hot tub was wonderful, and it was great to sit out back and watch the sun set while soaking our aches away. The house and decks could use some up keep and up dating. The beach below the house was a quick drive, but rather like a maze to navigate due to all of the logs and drift wood. So why stay here? There is a feeling of peace here that is hard to explain. We truly felt all of our stress just melt away. We enjoyed all of the art work, looking at the many books, and especially going through the three scrap books that are there. There had to be over 100 CD's, and once we figured out how to work the CD player, we filled the home with music. Our favorite was "Safe at Anchor" by Kate Wolf. It was as if she had sat in the living room when she wrote the songs. This is a great place, you just have to be fully aware that it is exactly what the description says it is...an old mountain cabin in the woods.
