About ann holladay

We built this home in 1990 and have added on a couple of times in the last 8 years. Our family, three sons and many friends have loved this special spot for weekends and summers for over 20 years now:many wonderful memories have been created catching crabs, boating, biking and long walks along private country roads.simply watching the most spectacular sunsets is reason enough to come!

ann holladay purchased this apartment in 1990

Why ann holladay chose Chesapeake Bay

my husband grew up in Baltimore and spent summers around the chesapeake,so after getting married in 1979,we started visiting this well familiar area and fell in love with this particular spot.We loved the expansive views over Broad Creek with the most amazing sunsets night after night. We have enjoyed many family and individual bike outings, often to Oxford via the Bellevue ferry and lunch, dinner and shopping is a short distance away, with many lovely offerings no matter what direction you go.

What makes this apartment unique

we built our home around the sensational views of expansive water and huge horizons showcasing the most incredible sunsets throughout the year. One can sit and simply look at the glistening water, the expansive starry sky,the ospreys building their nest while listening to the songs of the various birds and other wildlife. It's wonderful to be away but yet so close to excellent restaurants and local tourist attractions ;to have the choice of going out or staying in and grilling and eating in the gazebo and then watching a movie(wonderful assortment provided!)and ending the night under the stars!Did I mention the incredible sunsets??????:)

The Charming Bay House

  • 3 of 5

This property has a lovely, charming exterior and a fabulous view of the Chesapeake Bay. Wildlife abounds. We felt very welcomed as we were met with complementary banana bread which was welcomed Saturday morning. We loved sitting outside enjoying the expansive viiew. Unfortunately the property seems tired and cluttered with others' possessions. It was very clean but lacks strong wifi. We have AT&T phone service which did not work at the property at all, nor did the Direct TV. The experience became isolating since we were already in a remote spot miles from town. We wanted to ride bikes but the tires were flat which made us suspicious of the boats. Future guests should do their research!

Owner's Response: I am very sorry about Morningstar not being all you had expected . I will certainly check out, and hopefully solve, the Internet and tv issue. Unfortunately, the bike tires lose air quickly when the weather changes so I have included a pump in the shed. Sincere apologies, Ann.

Better than we could have imagined!

  • 5 of 5

This guest house is absolutely amazing! Full 2 beds and baths upstairs were comfortable and extremely clean. The bathrooms were even equipped with blow dryers and toiletries. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed - we didn't have to bring anything but food! The best part was the outside property...the most incredible views! The photos do not do this property justice.

I would say the only downside is that you're 10 minutes drive to anything, but realistically once you're there, you won't want to leave anyway!!!

Overall, if you're looking for a rental on the Eastern Shore, I highly recommend this one - it's perfection.

Amazing experience

  • 5 of 5

Ann's house is a cut above the rest. We travel often and prefer to rent houses, and her property is well appointed, immaculately maintained and has all the amenities for a great stay. Lastly, Ann herself is just a wonderful person- warm, caring and very welcoming. We loved being her guests and plan to visit her soon!

Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This well-appointed cottage had everything we needed for a perfect getaway. We (two couples) enjoyed this relaxing country cottage so well that we plan to return next year. Ann, the owner of the house that adjoins the cottage, was a gracious host and provided us with great tips on how to get the most out of our visit. St. Michaels is only a 15 minute country drive away. If a perfect morning view to go with your coffee plus the most spectacular sunsets in the evening are your thing, then you will love this cottage on the water.

Amazing home and location

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a weekend in Ann's guest house. What a wonderful host she was with a beautiful home and fantastic location. Even a rain filled weekend couldn't dampen our spirits while enjoying the beautiful view of the Chesapeake. The accommodations were perfect for our group of 2 couples and we cannot wait to return. The house has everything you would want or need while on vacation. We launched kayaks and fished right from the dock. It's an easy trip into St. Michael's when you need more than a beautiful view and peaceful location.

Ann was super to work with before and during our stay. She is so quick to respond and had all the information we needed in advance. Believe every review written here as they are spot on.

Thank you Ann for a wonderful weekend!!
