About Walter Morgan

We are a Christian family, Alice grew up in Horseshoe Bend, when it was Day AR, before it was developed; Walt was raised in Washington State. The beautiful Ozark Mountains have a unique lure that draws one back; Walt had visited with Alice's family and decided it was a special place to retire to.

Walter Morgan purchased this house in 2007

Why Walter Morgan chose Arkansas

We live next door to Waltz Inn and purchased the property because we felt it would have appeal for visitors; it overlooks the east end of the North Golf Course; has a great view from the sun porch where one can catch a view of many forms of wild life. Very relaxing atmosphere. Large driveway for parking boats or a trailer loaded with Motorcycles or friends.

What makes this house unique

We retired to this area about 9 years ago and love the area and it's many recreations, fishing; boating; canoeing; rafting; browsing local Ole Hardy Town; Numerous Festivals.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Waltz Inn is a lovely place to kick back and let the stress of the city float off into the sky. Owners were prepared for our visit even when we arrived a day early everything was ready and during our stay they made sure we were not in need of anything. Large Family room adjoining the dining room and sun porch will certainly be the "hub" of activity. The downstairs den was very spacious with plenty of room for the kids in our group to "camp out". Owners had even provided extra sleeping bags and quilts...We are already planning our next visit.

Nice house and the price is right

  • 5 of 5

I was lucky to find this house with short notice on a busy holiday weekend. Mr. Walter Morgan could not have been any friendlier and accommodating. The house has plenty of room to spread out. My 2 teenage daughters would have liked TV's in the bedrooms, but there's wifi, so they could stream shows on their phones. Very quiet location and would recommend to anyone travelling to the area.

Owner's Response: Anthony and Family, I sure appreciate the great review. This is very important to have these nice things said about our home. As a successful business man as you are, and to take your time to do this for us was very humbling to me. I will be sure to try my best to take care of the TV situation and some other little things around here. I do hope you can come back again some day. May your business prosper and all of you be blessed in the days ahead. Sincerely, Mr Morgan

Lots of room for a bargain price

  • 4 of 5

Walter was at the house when we arrived and welcomed us warmly. He had stocked the refrigerator with soda for us which we thought was very considerate. Everything was well stocked and there was lots of room. We particularly loved the upstairs screened in porch. I am a mosquito magnet and did not get one bite. Walter was able to give us several great restaurant recommendations. The neighborhood was quiet and the bed was comfortable. We were primarily in the area for hiking and it was a great spot.

Dirty, Smelly, and had Roaches

  • 1 of 5

We arrived at the home late in the evening exhausted from our long drive. When we opened the front door we were hit with a terrible smell. The home was very musty smelling. It was so strong all of our belongings now must be cleaned and aired out. The only things that were clean were the middle of room floors and some surfaces. Spider webs and spiders were present in most every corner of the ceiling. The kitchen walls, appliance surfaces, and backsplash had food and grease on them. There was lots of dust and lots of dirt around things. We were forced to keep the kitchen lights on 24hrs a day to keep the roaches at bay. If we forgot, they were on the counter waiting for us. Many provided items didn't work such as bottles of soap and cans of air freshener whose contents would come out. There were two irons. We found the working one on our second try, though the ironing board cover was so badly ripped it was hard to use. The coffee pot didn't work correctly. The microwave didn't heat evenly. Overall, we were very disappointed in our stay.

Owner's Response: In response to my latest review. Of course my wife and I were very disappointed in the review, and it hurt both of us to the heart. We have been doing this vacation home rental for four years now and have had nothing but wonderful reviews. Of course this is their opinion of our home we realize that, we totally see it different. We have always welcomed any suggestions from our guests in order to make their stay, as well as future guests, more comfortable. We will address the complaints first thing tomorrow to determine if the complaints are valid. I make it a policy to call and welcome all my guests to my vacation rental home. The first thing she said was there were roaches by the dish washer. I asked her what I could do as it was the week end, her response was aloof and cold and it was clear she didn't want to talk. We have never seen a roach in our home. The next morning I called again and wanting to help, she said she had to go, that made me sad as I wanted to talk it over with her and her husband. Once again It was clear she didn't want to discuss it. As far as dirty goes, we strive very hard to make sure every thing is clean, we make that top priority We have never had a complaint on this, always so wonderful smelling and clean. As for as spider webs, I haven't seen a spider in the house, I'm there every day making sure all is going well, always something to do to make sure for the next booking all the folks are happy and have a wonderful stay. We are sorry it didn't happen this time! In closing I would like to say that I have tried to be as honest as I can be to present my case. I feel there is always room for improvement. I will strive even harder in the days ahead to Make Waltz Inn the best little Vacation Home I possibly can. Thank You for reading our side of the story. PS Please read farther to see what some of our wonderful guests think of Waltz Inn and its management.
