Chalet, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6)
By way of introduction I am a working Mom who keeps books for our City School System in my hometown, Tuscaloosa, Alabama. I have also enjoyed living in Georgia and Nevada. In the evenings and on weekends I rent daily & weekly accommodations in Florida, Gatlinburg, Tennessee and guest quarters for special events in Tuscaloosa. I have always wanted a restaurant or hotel so this type of business satisfies the need to work with people and has the extra bonus of meeting guests from all over. My rental business began in 1988, it is hard work but worth it. My goal is to give every guest the best accommodations at the best rate. When my guests are happy, I'm happy!
Why Owner chose Gatlinburg
I purchased 'Mountain Magnolia' because of the PRIVACY & GREAT MOUNTAIN VIEW. It is only 4 miles from downtown Gatlinburg. It is within 3 miles of a grocery stores, video store, 24/7 year round deli, even a new McDonald's just opened. Many great restaurants are within 4 miles. All of these can be reached without getting into the Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge traffic. It is on the Arts & Crafts side of Gatlinburg so no steep, winding roads to travel.
What makes this Cabin unique
This cabin sits on top of a small mountain. The view is great, the air is fresh and only one other cabin is on this road so minimal traffic, NO NOISE. There are cabins below and in the distance, lights and smoke from their chimneys can be seen. HOT TUB ON THE DECK, REAL WOOD BURNING FIREPLACE INSIDE. Did I mention, the Gatlinburg air really smells GOOD!! This cabin was completely redecorated in March '09. It is clean, fresh, not cluttered and very tastefully furnished. It has original art prints throughout creating a very homey feeling & personal touch. The kitchen is huge and completely furnished to cook in or relax in while looking at the view from the large windows. COMPLETE COMFORT !!!

A wonderful time in the mountains!
We loved the location, view, and the hot tub! The decor was homey and felt like a cozy mountain getaway. Beds were comfortable and the game system was a hit. Also loved that downtown/rivers/streams were a few minutes away!
Signed 2 moms and 2 toddlers
It was a very clean cabin. It has a beautiful view from the porch. I would go there again
Enjoyed our stay
My husband and our 2 kids enjoyed our stay in the cabin. The first drive up made me nervous, but quickly got used to it, and the great view is your payoff! Check in and out was very simple. My kids loved the arcade table and we all thought the hot tub was great.
The only suggestion is to bring some baby proofing things if you have a toddler. Or I wish owner would add a child lock to the cabinet under sink where all the cleaning products are. The first day, my one year old got under there in a blink of an eye and spit out some sort of pill that was covered in cleaner. Had to keep a chair in front of there the rest of the time. I brought a baby gate but did not bring child locks or outlet covers.
However, I would stay there again. We all slept great and enjoyed all the amenities. Thanks!
The cabin was as pictured but housekeeping needs to be more thorough. Bed was comfy, shower was hot. Living room futon could use a new cushion. Game table was fabulous. Unable to use jacuzzi as we couldn't lower the temperature from 107. We enjoyed the stay overall and the view was lovely.
Thank you for writing a review! I appreciate the input good and bad. I didn't know about the cushion on the couch. I'm looking at a new couch and hope to have it in soon. I'm sorry you couldn't get the hot tub to heat lowered, it is at 100-102 now the housekeeper must have changed it to the correct temperature after you left. If you stay with us again let me know and we can fix things while you're there so you can have a better stay. Thank you again for writing. Gloria
Good for our small family
The cabin worked well for our family. (We have a toddler and infant.) It's an older property but in a great location. The king bed is very firm and the "couch" is really a futon, but both were fine with us, especially for the price. Our toddler loved the game table! There were lots of other cabins around, but we still saw several turkeys and a black bear!
Thank you for taking the time to write a review! I'm glad you enjoyed the cabin and area. I'm surprised you saw a bear this time of year, they seem to stay longer and longer before going into hibernation but are still enjoyable to see.
Thank you again for writing a review I have plans to replace the hard mattress and am looking for a new couch for the cabin. Please visit Mountain Magnolia again we appreciate your business! Gloria
The property is ok. Needs some repairs, but that is why it is inexpensive. Internet didn't work. Contacted the owner who gave me a passcode for wifi, but it didn't work. Tried to contact the owner again, but got no reply. The main problem is, the place had roaches, especially in the kitchen. This put a damper on the whole experience
