Why Layne and Yolanda McNee chose Idaho

My property is approximately 2 miles from the pools. We are far enough away from town to enjoy nature and peace and quiet but close enough that its easy to go and enjoy all Lava has to offer. This is a great property for reunions and large get togethers.

What makes this cabin unique

Placed on a 3 acre piece with a creek and nature just out the back door. Enjoy the scenery while barbecuing on the grills or having a hotdog aroung the fire.

always a great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed here a few times and it is always perfect! It's far enough from town to get away from the hustle and bustle but close enough it's not a pain to grab something in town or go to the hot springs. I would highly recommend this property for families, couples, reunions, whatever. The first time i stayed in the Bears Den with my 4 teenagers and it was perfect, the 2nd time we rented the whole property and stayed with 3 families. Plenty of room, clean, well stocked and Yolanda and her family are very accommodating. I would love to live here but i guess for now we will enjoy coming to visit a few times a year. I would recommend bringing paper products so you aren't doing dishes all the time, but other than that they had everything we needed, pots and pans, even an electric griddle and crock pot. Firewood available if you don't want to drag your own up there, horse shoes, 2 fire pits, BBQ grills, plenty of outdoor seating, and we brought a volley ball net up also. They rent tubes for river rafting which was very fun (although we didn't know they rented tubes so we brought our own), but this was fun and if you have older kids, teenagers or adults consider doing the zipline and ropes course. Awesome vacation definitely coming back!

Great, quiet country place for children

  • 5 of 5

The cabin and its amenities were as described and worked well for a gathering of our extended family - great country place for kids. The location was close enough to town to conveniently access the pool, hot springs and river, but far enough away to avoid the associated congestion and noise. The owner, Yolanda, is a good communicator and very responsive should anything arise. We had no issues, have already recommended the cabin to some friends and will likely return ourselves.

Nice relaxing place to stay

  • 5 of 5

It was a perfect place for our family reunion. We rented the whole property and glad that we did. It was close enough to town but yet far enough away that the we felt like no one was around us. Owners were great to work with and even aloud us to arrive early to get things ready for our family to come. We would recommend this property and plan to come again.

We will definitely go again!

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay here!! There was a little misunderstanding at first, the owners were out of town and someone else was supposed to clean it for us, but they forgot. So they quickly came to clean, and it was ready very quickly. Then to make it up, the owners gave us a gift card for dinner for our family. If you're looking for luxury, this isn't for you. But if your looking for quaint and cozy, this is perfect! We had a lot of fun in the field and staying at the cabin!! We'd definitely stay here again! Even our kids are begging to go back!!

Nice cabin with great amenities

  • 4 of 5

We were so pleased with this darling cabin for our first family trip to Lava Hot Springs. We took our 4

Kids including 2 teenagers and two 10 year olds. The house had plenty of room for us. The king-sized bed was so nice for my husband and I, and my twins shared the double bed in the other bedroom. There was also a futon in that room that wasn't used. Our teenagers decided they preferred the couches in the family room so they could watch movies on the tv with DVD player. The kitchen was fully stocked and the washer/dryer was a huge plus for us after days of river rafting and soaking at the pool and hot springs. The only issue we had was some ants and earwigs, but they had even left bug spray under the kitchen cabinet which took care of that. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to make this an annual trip for our family.

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying with us! We try our best to keep the places looking nice. Definitely a work in progress. Thanks for putting up with the extra little tenants also! No matter what we do they find a way in to join the party! Hope you can make it back sometime soon. Yolanda

OK stay

  • 3 of 5

The location of the property was perfect, not too far from Lava for our family reunion. The cabin was good size and I was really glad they had a full kitchen. There were a few things that I would suggest to the owners. The smell of pine sol was so strong when entering the cabin that we had to open the windows and try and air it out. I appreciate the attempt at cleanliness but maybe use something with not as strong of odor. The cabin could have used better towels, although the bathroom was clean and the shower was great. The last thing was the fact that we were finding ticks and earwigs in the cabin constantly which was a little concerning. Other than that the cabin served our purposes for this weekend.

Owner's Response: I was hoping you would leave a review so I could apologize. When we went to clean after you left I realized what I had done. I personally forgot to hang fresh towels. If you look in the pictures I leave six large white towels hanging for my guests. I have never forgot to do this before that I know of and I am very sorry this happened to you. The towels under the sink are the ones we leave for guests to use at the pools or to float the river who may have forgotten theirs this is why they are in bad shape. We have sprayed and bug bombed for the extra insects but we have seen an increase in them this year. Sorry about the cleaner smell also. We will try better to control these issues. We leave two numbers on the table to contact us. If you come again please don't hesitate to call so we can help resolve any issues that may occur so you may have a better experience. Sincerely, Yolanda
