Rustic Lake Home

  • 4 of 5

Our family stayed 3 nights. I have to say we all enjoyed our stay. The covered deck area was wonderful and was where we spent alot of our time when not down at the lake. Having the use of the large kayak was alot of fun for my grandkids. The hot tub was great treat for the grownups. The owner Pam was easy to contact and responded to any questions I may have had. I was very surprised on the view we had from the deck. I literally could watch my family out on the water paddling around in their kayaks. We all had a great weekend. Thanks for sharing your Lake Home with us.

Very Quiet and low key

  • 3 of 5

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Honestly after fees and such it worked out to be pretty pricey per night. We probably would have just stayed in a hotel for that price had we realized the condition of the home was less than stellar. It was fine and clean, it's just that the stairs were very hard to climb up (especially for older people), the decking seemed to be deteriorating and I was nervous to walk in some spots. It seems like the back two bedrooms have rotting floor joists because there is a substantial drop, it felt a little scary. The master bed seemed to be at a slant as well (like it was going down a hill). We did enjoy the lake and how close we were to it. It was also nice to have laundry on site as well as a functioning kitchen. There's a really cute little market about 20 minutes or so that had any essentials we may have forgotten. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Owner's Response: Cassie, Thanks for your review and glad you had a pleasant stay with most of the home and location to the water. That is part of the beauty this home offers being such an easy walk to the water, which is rare at Center Hill Lake. The condition of the home is now "stellar" since remodeling the areas needed. We had to wait for an opening to do the repairs as guests didn't want workers their during their stay which we all understand. The floors were completely replaced and level in the 2 bedrooms. We did this work in between rentals in early September, along with replacing a some boards on the deck.. I'm thinking you didn't use the concrete drive going up to the covered parking area, There are only 4 steps, which is why i personally park in this location rather than the circular drive, since my husband and I are senior citizens and have difficult time with stairs also. The circular drive is wonderful for those bringing a boat and trailer, allowing ease of going to the boat ramp just across the street. i was very happy to hear when we spoke how much you enjoyed using the Jacuzzi/hot tub in the enclosed room in case of inclement weather. Thank you again and looking forward to your stay next summer. Pam and Charlie

Overall we had a great time!

  • 4 of 5

We loved the location and the ease of launching the boat. The full time neighbors nearby were very friendly. The AC unit was fantastic and kept the place nice and cool without running constantly. The unit could be heard from the deck, but was never an issue. Kitchen was well stocked. We brought a few things and never needed them. The driveway is steep as mentioned in other reviews, but we parked the cars and left them in place anyway. (with the exception of the truck with boat). 4X4 is needed to launch the boat anyway, so the driveway was never a problem. There are some uneven floors in the bedrooms and on the deck. We did have to collect some rocks to level one of the small beds and the queen bed. Both would have been impossible to sleep on without falling out. The large deck is where we spent most of our time when not on the lake and it was beyond wonderful!! Nice and quiet and a fantastic view! Overall the place could use some work. It has a tremendous amount of potential. Then again, the price is right and any upgrades could make the place too expensive. We will likely return next year. Thanks for sharing Pam!

We had such a great long weekend, wish we could have stayed longer! We will for sure try to get this place again. Mrs. Pam was very nice and attentive to all my questions. It was clean and we loved the spacious deck area with a view of the lake. We were able to put our boat in right there which awesome. Thanks for sharing this place with us, we look forward to returning👍🏼
