2 Bedroom, 2 Bath + Tent Cabin, Hot Tub, Pond

A glorious, picturesque mini estate with fishing and boating pond, redwood grove, orchard, and hiking trails, all set in a private sunny meadow. As featured in Sunset magazine, a gourmet, over sized country kitchen, antique mantle on wood burning fireplace and Parisian antiques complete the feeling of elegance and serenity. Step outside to a cozy covered porch with upholstered wicker furniture and large entertaining deck with hot tub and a view that takes your breath away. The house is adjacent to a 80 acre vineyard and features surround sound throughout the house with a high end Denon stereo system for auxiliary input devices. There is a Bose Wave system for CD's.

In counterpoint and worthy of Architectural Digest is the new modern master bedroom with Italian metal windows in wonderful contrast to the first growth redwood floors salvaged from a local Sonoma County Barn. Oversized beams that support the suspended ceiling and asymmetrical skylight creates the feeling that you are sleeping in a Redwood Grove in a W hotel setting. All this faces onto the pond, enormous redwoods and bathed in full sun. Fireplace, bath and separate shower, plus awarding winning designer touches.

In addition to the primary residence, there is a real miner's tent cabin on the property that contains a beautiful queen sized sleigh bed with top shelf linens. Brand new this year, the tent cabin has a space heater and limited power. The tent is located on the other side of the pond. Fall asleep with the sounds of the frogs and seasonal creek.

Hi everyone. Nice to meet you. We are John + Sue. John’s from Pittsburgh PA and helps run a local craft beer and Sue is a local Bay Area native working at an organic food company. We are a fun-loving, travel-obsessed couple who love to hike, kayak and chill in nature.

When we stepped onto the property we had that ‘feeling’ that this place was special. The light, the views, the serenity and calm definitely spoke to us. There is truly a magical quality about Still Light Pond. From the private redwood grove with seasonal creek, to fishing in a corner of the pond, the stillness of the light, hiking trails, watching the birds from herons to egrets, private safari tent , all within a restored farmhouse property. It was love at first sight.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Whether you are looking for a relaxing retreat or discovery weekend of all the area has to offer-- wine tasting for world class pinots, organic/local food, canoeing or kayaking down the Russian River, golfing 20 minutes away at Bodega Bay or cycling the great backroads; the location will amaze you for its close proximity to so many diverse areas. It’s only a few miles from Russian River, 6 mi from the coast, close to Bodega Bay and Tomales Bay. Wine tasting, hiking, cycling and kayaking are our favorite activities, come enjoy them here at Still Light Pond.

Such An Amazing Home!!!

I absolutely loved this house. The architecture and decor were incredible. I got to watch the woodpeckers store their nuts in the tree outside the bedroom window. The property was fun to explore. Plus, Sue and John were very nice and accommodating. Would love to go back!!

Best writing and couples/family retreat ever!

This property is heaven! From the cool vintage decor to the gorgeous woodsy property and pond, I have never stayed anywhere so cozy and peaceful. The kitchen is well stocked, the beds were comfortable, and all we could hear all weekend was the chirping of birds and the croaking of frogs in the pond. Highlights were a row around the pond, a cozy morning in bed with tea overlooking the pond and the woods, and star gazing from the patio at night. Great sound system from inside and the patio as we barbecued steaks. Sweet farmer's market in town and boutique shopping. Don't miss happy hour pizza at Union Station and incredible breakfasts at Howard Station Cafe. Sue made us feel very welcome. Better than we ever could have expected. A perfect getaway!

Unique and Fabulous House & Property!

What a special place this is! Everything about it called my name...from the outdoor seating options for a day of lounging and bbq and friends to celebrate my birthday weekend..to a beautiful, intentionally built home surrounded by nature and open space. The house has a wonderful decor and the grounds invite you to relax, play and enjoy time away..Sue was an exceptional communicator, answering all my questions, prior to booking this trip. The house manager was also very accommodating to any questions I had about the area and made me feel very welcome with a huge happy birthday sign in the kitchen when we arrived.

There are plenty of unique options for sleeping arrangements for guests from a large high ceiling master bedrooms to a more quaint country style second bedroom in the house, to a very glam camping option away from the main house for those looking for an even more nature surrounded experience.

I hope to come back in the future and have no doubt any future tenants will feel the same.

Amazing property!

We had a wonderful and relaxing Father's Day weekend at Still Light Pond. The house was beautiful as well as the grounds. The pictures on the website are great, but still do not do the property justice. Our son spent his time rowing in the boat, playing in the redwood forest, running around with our very happy dogs, roasting marshmallows at the fire pit, and hanging out in the hot tub. The amount of nature that we experienced was fantastic...a fox walking by the pond, deer in the field next door, acorn woodpeckers in the redwood trees, and frogs croaking at night. A perfect weekend away from city life.

Charming and Amazing at the same time

I can't say enough about Still Light Pond! It is the greatest home we have ever rented! We will stay there every time we visit the area. The home is so cute and has everything you would ever Need! The master suite is incredible. The Views from every room you can stare at for days. If you have kids, I'm quite sure there is no better place to stay. My kids LOVED it and can't wait to go back.
