We came together as a family of five for Thanksgiving at the home. It is lovely! The home is well maintained and attractively decorated. Lots of extras - linens, towels, well-equipped kitchen etc. The screened-in porch was delightful - there were times when we could sit out on it comfortably and we did.
Thank you for a great experience!
Everything was perfect! Would absolutely stay here again in the future.
This cottage was lovely! The only complaint I had was that the house was not ready at 4. We had to drive around for an hour and a half. After our 13 hour trip that was a bit frustrating. Light switches were confusing and the wifi was attached to the bedroom light switch (we learned that the hard way). Also sliding door in master bedroom did not open so we had to walk around to enjoy the deck. Just tiny nuisances - overall our trip was wonderful!! Owner was quick to respond to our emails and texts and was very helpful. Nice location to beach and pool. Very nice and quiet neighborhood. Would definitely return to this house!
This place is perfect. The rooms aren't huge, but it was so quaint & homey! My 6 year old loved the bike paths all over the island, & my husband & I enjoyed mornings jogs along them. The place is so shady & comfortable. Most beach locales are hot & sandy with a lot of pavement, but this place is so lush & green. The wildlife is everywhere! We saw alligators (daily from our porch), dolphins, a snake, 40+ deer, giant sea turtles almost every night (out laying eggs), horseshoe crabs, raccoons, mullets jumping across the lagoon, lizards, tons of various birds, & tons of squirrels. It was so fun!! My 5 kids, ranging in ages from 6-19, absolutely loved it! My husband & I are already looking to return next year! Trust me, if you love the mountains & the beach, you will love this place! Also, there is a Harris Teeter grocery store a few miles away on the bike path (in Fresh Fields). We rode bikes there several times, & the prices were very reasonable. There's also several restaurants & shops within a few miles. You could easily park your vehicle & only get around with bikes for the entire week. The beach is less than a 2 minute bike ride away & the pool 1/2 that. Everything is super close & convenient. Perfect location.
We had a wonderful stay at this cottage in June, 2016. Cottage was clean, kitchen very nicely equipped and updated, and brand new washer and dryers to use. Our gate passes were ready when we checked in, and cottage was easy to find. Great location in Kiawah, and a 5 minute bike ride to the beach, or 10 minutes to walk. Would recommend getting a bike with a trailer or a large wagon. The owners do have a beach cart, but we travelled with kids to had a lot more stuff than the cart could handle, so we brought our own wagon. Screened in-porch was fabulous for sitting out on evenings. There is a neighborhood pool a short walking distance, on the way to the beach. Only drawback, since you aren't renting though Kiawah Island Resort, you don't have access to the larger pools, splash parks and water slides on West Beach and Night Herron Park. VBRO was great, and probably cheaper than renting through Kiawah directly. Would definitely recommend bikes, as there is a breakfast restaurant and ice cream shop right down the road. FreshFields also has some great activities for kids and cute shops, which is a quick car ride off the resort. Would highly recommend this cottage! Wonderful vacation and very comfortable stay!
I stayed here with my husband and 4 young sons. It was amazing. Plenty of space and they LOVED seeing the gators in the pond everyday from our screened in porch. The house is a short bike ride (3 minutes), walk (under 10 minutes) to a gorgeous beach and has loads of bike trails all around. We loved it so much we are returning next summer and already booked it. This is a real gem!!
