You will love our beautifully remodeled 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath home with the Pacific Ocean and beautiful palm trees right outside your back door. Enjoy spectacular ocean and Maui mountain views from nearly everywhere in the house, and a beautiful sandy beach just a quick walk from your lanai. It is walking distance to downtown Lahaina, or use one of the 4 bikes we make available to our guests.

Sit outside and enjoy the view and ocean breezes from either the downstairs lanai,the beautiful upstairs deck off the master bedroom or from your own hammock. The views are spectacular.

There is a king bed in the master bedroom facing the ocean, a queen bed in the second bedroom on the mountain side, and a third bedroom with views of the ocean and mountains with a king bed and a twin bed. (The king can be converted to two twin beds, for a total of three twin beds in the upstairs bedroom.) There is also a queen sleeper sofa in the living room on the first floor.

The beautiful butcher block table in the large gourmet kitchen makes a perfect and inviting gathering place for friends and family. You will find all the comforts of home here.

If you have never been to Puamana, you will want to return year after year as we did. Puamana is a beautiful, gated oceanfront community on 30 acres of lovingly maintained tropical grounds. There are three swimming pools (including one right on the ocean), tennis and badminton courts, a restored plantation home/club house, and large grassy open spaces overlooking the ocean, with hammocks for lounging in the sun. And Puamana is a well-known surf spot that residents can access right from the property!

Great shopping, souvenir collecting and outdoor activities are all nearby. Being so close to downtown Lahaina and so many great beaches and activities is of particular interest to many of our guests.

Maui weather is generally nice all year round, and Lahaina is known as the 'sunniest' part of the island. And because Puamana is on the west shore, the sunsets are spectacular!

About Jacqueline Marcus

My husband and I grew up in the Midwest, but we have always loved water, especially the ocean. Ever since our honeymoon in Maui, we found ourselves drawn back to this beautiful island as often as possible.

Why Jacqueline Marcus chose Maui

With three boys in tow, we explored the island and stayed at many different resorts and townhomes through the years -- in Kihea, Kahana, Kaanapali, Wailea and Kapalua, but we knew we found our home when we chanced upon the breathtakingly beautiful Puamana development in Lahaina. We all fell in love. We found ourselves coming back year after year, so one year we decided to invest in our own Maui Beach Home.

We noticed there were some paddle boards and surfboards in the carport. Are we able to use them? (Jacqueline's response: Unfortunately not, but I was able to give them great places to pick them up.)

Incredible Find!!!!!

We were lucky enough to have found this home when we decided to extend our Maui trip last minute! Our experience was so amazing that I wish we would have stayed here from the start of our Maui stay. The views of the ocean are absolutely stunning!! The home is beautifully appointed, well-maintained, and I found it to be clean and very comfortable.

The access to the owner's bikes were awesome for trips into Lahaina. We loved being able to play with the many beach toys, boogie boards, and chairs at the beach! So Fun!!!

We did experience one glitch with the AC, but it was handled quickly and easily with a phone call. The owners were so cordial and accommodating. They offered a long list of recommendations of attractions/restaurants which were so helpful!!

Overall, we LOVED this place! We are already looking at our calendar for next year, so we can be sure to come back to this great home!

Million Dollar View but Dirty with Rodents

When they say this property is right on the beach, it is! Upon our arrival we were amazed at the view, but unfortunately our stay was anxiety ridden at this home. My family & I were counting down the days for this vacation & while the view is absolutely stunning, we arrived to find the bedding dirty in the master upstairs, the bathroom dirty with a moldy shower & shower curtain. On our third day my parents were trying to relax in the master bedroom only to find two mice running across the walls! The mice went through my fathers entire luggage, we caught three of them once we asked the maintenance lady, Paula (she's very nice but clearly cleaning & rodent control are not her specialty) to bring traps over. We killed 7 roaches. The mice were coming through several openings in the master bedroom that could have easily been seen if someone cleaned the place thoroughly. I'm sure we aren't the only visitors to have experienced this & in all honesty, I was very conflicted writing this review as I know the owners only have so much control not living on site, but I just can't understand of all these wonderful reviews that were written, which I relied on for our decision to stay here & we are the first guests to go through this. We had to spend over an hour cleaning & using whatever cleaning supplies were at the home to clean the showers. While I conveyed all of this as things happened during our stay, the owner who responded fairly quickly but never once offered a refund of any sort & I would have certainly done so under the circumstances as a property owner. We were really creeped out with the mice & roaches & looked for a resort to move to but everything was sold out. None of us slept well during our vacation, as you can imagine we were all terrified mice & roaches would be sleeping with us! Our whole purpose for renting his home vs. a resort was because there were 7 of us & we wanted to be able to cook there, but there was now way we were going to cook in a place that had mice & roaches.

While the view was gorgeous & Puamana itself is a beautiful property, located close to town, my family & I would not go back to this place. It is a shame as they simply need to hire a worthy cleaning company, have pest control done regularly & then it's worth the money to stay simply based on location & the view.

Owner's Response: These poor guests experienced a perfect storm, and we have hopefully made it up to them. Maui was hit with a major heat wave just prior to their arrival. The power grid went out in Lahaina for almost 18 hours the day before, and the previous guests had to resort to keeping the doors open to bring in cross ventilation of the ocean breezes to cool the house. Critters such as mice and large bugs are prevalent in Maui, especially during the summer, and some evidently made their way into our home. I spoke with the young lady who wrote the review, and she said they trapped three mice the first day, and didn't see any others the rest of the stay, but they still felt uneasy about this the rest of their stay. Similarly with the Hawaiian beetles. She did tell me that they did have a very nice time in Maui and our home, but were freaked out by the mice. As for the sheets, our cleaning company (which cleans almost all homes in Puamana) assured me that clean sheets were put on all the beds. However, she wanted to please the guests by offering to put another set on, but they had already done so themselves. She did at that time replace the shower curtain. Our cleaner also offered to come in and do a mid-week cleaning for free, but the parents said everything was fine, and that they didn't need anything. Because of the power failure that affected all of West Maui for almost a day, it is quite possible that cleanings of all units were backed up, and that the cleaning of our home (as well as others, I suspect) prior to the arrival of these guests did not meet the highest standards we expect from and experience from our cleaning crew normally. Since then, our home has been thoroughly cleaned, and Terminex was called in to look into any problems, and to provide additional mid-month servicing just in case. I am pleased to say that all of the guests since this "reviewer's" stay have had very pleasant stays, and there have been only reports of guests having a great time. Oh, one guest did ask for a new broom, which was taken care of. We strive for all our guests to have the most positive and memorable experience possible. With the major power failure and cleaning back ups, we fell short this time. All guests deserve a perfect experience. Jacqueline & David Marcus

Amazing location for a family vacation

This was a bucket list trip for me. I wanted to treat my entire family to an amazing vacation full of fun activities while staying in an amazing location. Mission accomplished. When we first walked in and my adult children saw how close we were to the ocean they exclaimed, "No way!" The home is close to all the activities yet far enough away to be extraordinarily peaceful. We spent the mornings and evenings relaxing on the lanai while watching the gorgeous sunrise and sunset over the ocean just 20 feet away. Everything that we needed was there for us. And the home is located at the end of the complex so it's quiet and peaceful. We would definitely stay there again.

Went to Maui for a girls getaway and this was a wonderful place to stay, perfect for the 6 of us. Thoroughly enjoyed the proximity to the ocean as well as to Lahaina. The house was nice and the whole process was very easy. No complaints here!

perfect venue for our daughter's wedding!

Puamana is the best. This house has an incredible view with whales and turtles abound. The amenities were perfect for our family celebration. My favorite part of the day was drinking coffee on the lanai with the fam while watching the sun slowly light up the sky. Amazing. We will be back!
