About Jenny Turner

I am married with 3 children, 2 grown up girls of 22 and 19 and a son of 12. I used to run my own business that focused on supporting organisations to develop excellence in customer service - something I am passionate about. This focus on a positive service experience is at the heart of what I look to achieve for our guests. I know myself how I want to be treated and I look to ensure our guests get a really positive and memorable experience when they choose to holiday in our villa.

Jenny Turner purchased this villa in 2004

Why Jenny Turner chose Taranto

We fell in love initially with the position of this property with its truely stunning views across rolling hills. Compared to the many others we looked at this was the one that stood out from the crowd. We have not been disappointed. The views during both day and night are spectacular - it really offers peace and tranquility and yet is only 5 minutes drive from Alberobello. The other attraction as well as being a trullo that exudes character, was its' unique layout being in 2 wings. We love to holiday with friends but also value a degree of privacy and independence at times which this offers. The icing on the cake is the close proximity to Alberobello, a thriving and totally unique town with a wonderful atmosphere and many good quality restaurants where we love to try the local wines and thoroughly enjoy all the wonderful italian culinary delights.

What makes this villa unique

The Layout - we can offer something a little different for the more discerning guests that want the enjoyment of holidaying with other family or friends but also wish to have some personal space and privacy.

The stunning views afforded to you as you sit by the heated pool relaxing in the peace of the countryside

A pool that is enclosed offering greater peace of mind when travelling with young children

A management team that share my vision of providing a truly memorable experience for our guests and go above and beyond in meeting requests for various leisure pursuits - whether it be pizza making lessons, a private chef or for the more active golf or sailing.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a wonderful time at your villa in Puglia. We stayed there with our whole family (9 persons). The rooms were all very well equipped and the garden and the terrace were beautiful. The best thing for our three little children (3, 3, and 6 years old) was the swimming pool. They spent so much time in the water, swimming or playing with the little plastic boat.

The landscape around your villa is very beautiful. We liked the "Trulli" and the pretty little towns, Alberobello, Martina Franca, Ostuni and most of all Locorotondo. We had our meals either on the terrace or at the restaurants in Alberobello which were very good. Our favorite was the very friendly restaurant "Fidelio".

We were also very pleased with the agent in Puglia, especially as we arrived nearly two hours late (problems with the flight). The supermarket was closed and our grandchildren were too tired to have a meal in a restaurant. So the agent led us to a place where we could order pizzas to take away and he waited with us until the pizzas were ready.

We all are very sure that we will come back to your wonderful place!

Notes:
The fabulous 10 x 5m heated tiled pool is a feature of the property that is set in an enclosed walled landscaped garden in an elevated position with stunning views across the Val D'Itria (Open from end April to end Oct subject to weather). The pool has been enclosed sympathetically to retain the character and views, but does provide a greater degree of security and safety for families with young children, with its stone walls and pretty iron fencing with lockable gate. The pool is equipped with 10 aluminium sunbeds and benefits from a pergola providing permanent shade with an aluminium table and 4 chairs. The pool is cleaned regularly throughout your stay to ensure your maximum enjoyment. The villa has 2 patios, both with covered and open areas. The south facing patio is large with a stone table and seating for 10. The east facing patio has a large aluminum circular table with seating for 6. Large parking area with shade at the rear of the property. A large BBQ is available.

A wonderful villa for a perfect family holiday.

  • 5 of 5

We spend two weeks in the amazing villa , Trulli Sulla Colina, near Alberobello. We are a Dutch extended family of 3 generations, 12 people, 6 adults and 6 children, age 8, 6, 5 ,4, 3, and 1 year. We felt at home.

The house was clean, toys for all the kids, good beds and soft towels.

It was comfortable having two very complete kitchens to cook for a big family. We ate very often altogehter at "home".

The first week the weather was not that good, so the pool was cold. The second week the sun came and the solar heating did her work well. We could all relax. A top priority was to have a safe place for all the young children, - the fence off lockable swimming pool area, with its non slip pool surround.

Thanks Jenny for your good service. We would like to recommend Trulli Sulla Cortina to all our Dutch friends and relatives.

Owner's Response: So delighted you had such a good time. We so want for our guests to feel at home and do try and focus on all the details that make the difference around both comfort and safety. We always have found that the 2 wings with the 2 kitchens etc is a real bonus for large families as you have all the benefits of communal living but with the room to spread out and achieve some independence too. Glad you enjoyed the heated pool. Hope to see you with your friends and relatives for a return visit. Jenny

A lovely hideaway in the hills above Alberobello

  • 5 of 5

The gardens and setting of this villa are outstanding. The property is set on the top of a hill with fantastic views of olive groves in every directions. In the early evening light it looks like a painting. We spent a very lazy two weeks with grown up children and their friends lounging around the pool. All the outside space is excellent, particularly the covered terrace, and the sitting room worked well for Italian themed movie evenings, following cocktails on the roof, with the lovely views of the sunset.

The beds are very comfortable and the whole property is very well maintained. The games room is a really nice addition, especially as the wifi is not the strongest/fastest. Puglia Arrivals were fantastic, and very responsive. We loved the dog at the end of the drive and he hung out with us. Lido Sabbiadoro at Capitolo Monopoli is a really wonderful beach, 20 euros a day pp for sun loungers, umbrellas, showers and a very nice bar. Absolutely worth the money. Also we had two fantastic meals at Il Quercia in its new location in Alberobello. The only drawback at the house is the size of the kitchens when cooking for a big party, but both are well stocked.

Alberobello is a 5 minute drive, and perfect for drinks, shopping and poddling around. We were warned that it would be 'very touristy', but even in late July it's quiet compared with Tuscany or the Amalfi Coast. We also visited nearby towns of Martina Franca, Locorotondo and Cisternino - all perfect for a late afternoon stroll. All in all we loved our stay and would strongly recommend the villa for a mixed age group.

Owner's Response: Thankyou for your positive comments and so glad you appreciated the villa and the surrounding area. We appreciate your comment about the kitchen - they are typical Italian kitchens however we do agree that it would benefit the villa to enlarge the main kitchen which in fact we are looking to do in the near future. A really lovely location, so private and quiet.

  • 5 of 5

It was a beautiful spot and we loved the surrounding towns, each with their own character. The villa was well appointed and everything had been thought of. The outside space was great and the gardens were pretty and well kept. A relaxing, peaceful and comfortable stay. We hope to go back again and would recommend it very highly.

Perfect holidays with the whole family

  • 5 of 5

It was our second stay at Trulli Sulla Colina with our whole family and we enjoyed it again. The main attraction is the swimming pool, especially for our grandchildren - 5, 5 and 8 years old. After a long breakfast in the wonderful garden we spent much time with swimming, playing kicker and table tennis and eating cherries from the trees in the garden. In the afternoon we visited the nice little villages in the surrounding.

In Alberobello are nice restaurants. Our favorites were "Gli olivi" and "Fidelio" with its nice and friendly owner Francesco. This year his son Alessandro and our grandson became friends and played football together.

One day we had a problem in the bathroom and immediately somebody came and solved it.

Finaly we can say we had great holidays, everything was perfekt and we are sure, we will come back again.

Beautiful relaxing trullo

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a week as part of our honeymoon and it was stunning. The location is so beautiful and relaxing and the trullo itself is very rustic yet has everything and more that you would need. We were met beforehand and taken over to the trullo and Theresa was really helpful with restaurant recommendations and places to visit.

It is so peaceful at the trullo that sitting by the pool is really relaxing and you can watch the wildlife too.

Overall it was a turkey lovely stay and experience we will definitely be returning and would recommend this place to anyone.

The property is situated within 3 acres of olive and almond grove in a hill top position in rural countryside but within 5 minutes of Alberobello. The approach to the property is down very pretty, quiet stone walled lanes, ideal for walking and cycling. It's position offers some of the most fantastic views across the Val D'Itria and being in this position the property benefits from a cooling breeze during the hot summer months. The nearest town Alberobello which is a UNESCO heritage site and a unique and fascinating place to explore with its' thousands of trulli. Restaurants and coffee bars are plentiful, good quality and very friendly, being full of character, many being trulli buildings. There are many small shops to explore - ranging from good quality clothes shops through to traditional bakers, butchers etc There are large and well stocked supermarkets on the outskirts of the main historic centre and about 5 minutes from the property. These stock branded goods as well as having excellent delicatessen counters for wonderfully fresh Parma ham, olives, sun dried. Tomatoes, cheeses etc etc

The Thursday market in Alberobello is a must, the array of fresh fruit and vegetables is fantastic and the opportunity to soak up the atmosphere of how the locals live is a real cultural experience.

We also offer many activities and leisure past times to make your holiday even more enjoyable from pasta making evenings, to a Puglian Chef preparing a meal for you, to car and bike hire, please see link below. (we do have adult bikes and 2 teen bikes available for guest use)
