Rabbit Run Retreat is nestled in a beautiful, tranquil country setting, located in Norris, TN. A large yard with a patio provides space for outdoor dining or just relaxing.
There are two large great rooms, 5 bedrooms, 2 family rooms, 2 kitchens and 3 baths. Extra sleeping areas on ground floor. Beds to sleep 26, but plenty of space for portable beds.
One great room overlooks a peaceful valley and pond where deer often wander. It is set up with large tables for crafts, meetings or dining with a view!
Jim and Judy operated a sign shop, Val-U-Signs, in Oak Ridge, TN from the mid 80's until 2006. When we retired, our son purchased, and now operates, the business.
I guess we couldn't stay retired because here we are starting another business. In 2005 we purchased a Crestline modular home and erected it on our property in Norris (8.6 acres). We lived in the home until early 2012. It's a lovely home, but more space than we need. We subdivided the property, moved another house next door and now live there.
Over the years we have done quite a bit of entertaining in the Rabbit Run house. Plus there was one wedding and one memorial service. It really is a perfect place to have a gathering.
We chose the name because we have had a rabbit rescue here for several years.
Our rabbit rescue pen has become a home for chickens, two rabbits, and a guinea pig. Our granddaughter, Charlie, is an animal lover; and chickens are her current favorite. We still have a house rabbit in our home. He is a white dwarf named Marshmallow. There are also four cats--they are all gentle, and they may come to visit the Rabbit Run house yard.
Judy Valentine purchased this chateau / country house in 2005
It's a lovely and peaceful place. When we purchased the property in 1997, we wanted to be in the country without being too far from civilization. It's just a few minutes to drive to walking trails, streams, Norris Dam and Norris State Park.
Only an hour away from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, the retreat is 16 miles north of Knoxville, TN--just minutes away from Norris Lake, Norris Dam, the Clinch River, Appalachian Museum, U.T. Stadium, hiking, biking, and horseback trails.
Shopping, restaurants, and easy interstate access are all close by.
Had a great time there at Rabbit Run Retreat with a great group of Veterans and the program for Veterans, Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing. Allowing us D.A. Veterans to come together and capture a little R & R, do a little fishing and be around a lot of great people. Thanks again and look forward to the next event. Sincerely, William (Charlie) PHWFF M'Boro, TN
It was out in the country but near shopping and points of interest. Love visiting all the old cabins nearby
to see how life was lived many years ago. Also liked visiting the Dam near this home.
The basement was a home on its own. sleep many more than we needed. We were greeted
with a basket of fresh flowers
We had a dozen guys stay in the house and we only used half of the beds it was spacious restful remote property that is just a deal.
We loved our stay and we loved all the space. Judy is awesome and super helpful. price is great for everything you get. Internet does need to be approved though.
Our group was there for a wedding and Judy took us right in and made us at home! She even spent time introducing us and the kids to the cats and her rabbit Marshmallow. Judy is a very kind and warm person.
The space is open and comfortable, very clean and bright with lots of windows. Well stocked kitchen and plenty of clean linens.
We had a large group of people over for a post wedding party and the space accommodated everyone very nicely with room to mingle, the patio was perfect for those who wanted to be outside and sit or play games. There was also plenty of room for all of the vehicles to get in and out.
We would highly recommend RRR to anyone!
Our group rented this house while visiting the area for my son's graduation from The Crown College of the Bible in Powell, TN. His girlfriend was also graduating and her family stayed there as well. Fifteen plus 2 babies from our family and eight plus 2 babies from the other family all stayed in the house for three nights. This number was a little challenging with the three bathrooms but we made it work with some coordination. The spacious sun room was a big hit! It was a lovely country setting with chickens roaming around. There is also a wonderful museum just minutes away!!
We are a varsity baseball team from Pennsylvania that was looking for a new part of the country to come to for our annual spring training week, and this part of Tennessee has become our new yearly home for a week. This place has become the base of our operations because it is so perfect for our needs, and the hostess is wonderful to us. The house has all the amenities we need, and the peace and quiet we get there allows us to recover from the work we put our players through. Rabbit Run is one of the main reasons we look forward to coming back for years to come... the comraderie that is built in the down times in this homelike setting is one of the best parts of our trip. All the amenities and comforts of home, plus the personal touch of the hostess make this a great place to stay for any large group!
Many of the above services are located within 15 minutes of Rabbit Run Retreat. Others are in Knoxville, Clinton, Oak Ridge or Pigeon Forge--all within 90 minutes of our home.
