Cottage, 1 Bedroom + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6)
My longtime friend Steve graduated from the University of Washington College of Architecture and Urban Planning. He designed and we built the cottage in 2003/2004 and we have shared it with many people since. I have owned, operated and managed vacation rentals for over 15 years. My son & I look forward to providing our guests a comfortable and enjoyable experience at our vacation home. Thanks for considering our property, Rob
Rob purchased this Cottage in 2004
Why Rob chose Coupeville
The cottage is situated on a quiet lot that is speckled with big beautiful Fir trees and has a peek-a-boo view of Saratoga Passage. It is a wonderful setting.
What makes this Cottage unique
Absolute peace and quiet and watching the resident eagle soar from the deck while watching the occassional sailboat glide by. Watching all of the deer meander across the property and snack on the foliage. Walking and beachcombing, especially during low tide.
Absolutely NO SMOKING in the cabin.
100% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date. 50% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
A quiet getaway
So much to enjoy but our favorites were the View, Wood stove, comfy master bedroom and really well stocked kitchen.
Good location for what we wanted to do. Is about center island, close to ferry to Port Townsend. View was wonderful, had my morning coffee watching the sunrise!
This was a great place to stay while taking an art class at the Pacific Northwest Art School. It was very comfortable, and I enjoyed my stay.
Easy, affordable, great location
Not close to town and not CLEAN!
Not close to downtown Coupeville as suggested and can not sleep 6 unless you have 4 people under 4ft.
Not clean, smells of really bad of febrezze to cover up cigarette smells. Super outdated and not comfortable. Ended up leaving because we could not take it for The arm and a leg they were charging a night and not being anything they described. Found beautiful place in downtown Coupeville for so much less.
Owner laughed at a personal complaint that we did in private. Refused to relieve any money.
Do not go here unless you just want to be like camping for an outrageous amount a night.
Never spoke to this person so not sure what the laugh comment is about below but here was my response to them after the stay:
I was initially shocked by your email as I've been renting my place to guests since 2004 and have never heard anything like this. I take great pride in providing a great guest experience as most of my reviewed guests have felt the same. I absolutely do not false advertise as you mistakenly claim. That map provided on the VRBO site is absolutely correct for the location so not sure what your thinking with that. Also, as detailed very specifically on my listing, there's a queen bed in the master, a queen sofa sleeper in the living room and three single beds in the loft. Your booking stated 4 people (not 5 as you mentioned below) which you must have typed in.
My cleaner has been cleaning for me for years and has always done a great job and always great feedback from guests on the cleanliness. I find it very hard to believe that she suddenly did a poor job for your stay. Should I fire her based on your feedback? After I got your note, we checked the bathroom light above the mirror and found that all three bulbs were working including a separate working light above the shower. Again, I'm not sure how it suddenly started working after you left nor what the stink was.
I'm a reasonable person and I'm not sure why you did not contact me directly when you arrived to discuss. Heck, we could have arranged to let you guys stay in the lower unit for more space. I'm just baffled with your note and note sure what you realistically expect from me, claiming I'm a fraud and my place unkept. As the cleaner just had to tidy up, I will discount your cleaning fee and refund your deposit.
I am glad that your trip ultimately was good and I wish you the best.
Relaxing beach cabin!
Wonderful morning beach walks, great quiet community & so convenient to family wedding @ Crockett Farm . . . Perfect!
Awesome hikes, beaches, Fort Casey and several great small towns close by! Visit Coupeville it is a quaint and attractive historic town that is situated on the waterfront about 10 minutes north of our cottage. In Coupeville you will find a grocery store, liquor store, bowling alley, many shops and several restaurants; it is a must visit small town.
