Great Family Stay Beautiful Property

  • 5 of 5

I recently stayed here with my family (Parents, husband and two boys)for four nights. The house was perfect for us. It is very well-maintained and clean with all of the amenities of home. We loved having the Keurig machine for coffee in the morning. The washer/dryer was very useful in washing some clothes before our second leg of the trip. We didn’t have much time but there is much to do at the house. Lots of games outside and bicycles. The hosts, Diane and Jim, are super nice and made us feel very welcome. I can’t recommend this property enough. We loved it!

Perfect Setting for Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We began our three-generation family vacation with a three-night stay at this beautiful home. We loved the wood construction and all the Alaskan touches. Jim and Diane had thought of everything to enhance our stay. The kitchen is well stocked -- no need to purchase basic ingredients. There is every kitchen appliance one would need. The Hunts are marvelous hosts. Jim had a campfire already burning for us in the backyard fire pit every evening when we returned home. The sauna is an extra bonus. Jim and Diane were always available when we needed something but never intruded. We can't think of anything that would improve this ideal rental. Most highly recommended.

Excellent Stay!!

  • 5 of 5

Great Bear is amazing!! The house was a perfect size for three adult couples and very comfortable inside. The pellet fire stove added a nice feeling. Outside was heaven with the fire pit and yard games - we played nearly all night long in the midnight sun. First time we’ve stayed with owners living on the property and I was a little hesitant, but it wasn’t an issue at all. Jim and Diane were very friendly, responsive and helpful. Still felt like we were there by ourselves. We didn’t spend enough time in Seward and will definitely come back and stay here again!

The best place to stay in Seward.

  • 5 of 5

Our party of eight stayed with Jim and Diane, and had plenty of room. The house is very close to everything you need, and is extremely comfortable. Jim and Diane have thought of literally everything. The kitchen is amazingly well stocked with anything you might need to prepare a meal, but that's just the start. I casually mentioned to Jim that we were going to do s'mores on the fire pit, and he came back two minutes later with some ready-made sticks to roast the marshmallows! The sauna was great for relaxing, and the well-maintained bikes made for a great afternoon of riding around town. The ad mentions that they live quietly on site, and they are incredibly quiet. We didn't hear a peep from them. I will definitely be looking to stay here again next time I find myself heading to Seward.
