The cottage at Stone Croft is a quick train ride to Manhattan, but looks out on woods and a stream. The cottage is like a two story suite with a full kitchen. There is a queen bed in the main bedroom and a queen sofa bed upstairs.
There is a dishwasher, washer/dryer, high speed internet and a TV with Apple TV in the cottage.
Lots of light!
Stone Croft is on Quaker Road, a main road of Chappaqua, a ten minute walk to train & town.
Guests have their own access and parking space. There is a outdoor garden area with chairs and a table available for your use above the cottage.
Interaction with Guests
The Beels family lives in the main house and we are happy to provide a country breakfast to guests for a small fee when we are at home. We can answer any questions as well.
If you prefer total privacy, we will stay out of your way :)
Downtown Chappaqua is a charming rural village, less than an hour by train from Grand Central Station in Manhattan.
Search youtube for Chappaqua for a short video about the town.
You can park your car in a private space out front or do the ten minute walk from the Metro North train station in town.
Westchester Taxi can get you to and from the NYC airports (about 60-90 minutes from JFK) or consider flying into nearby Westchester County airport for a much more relaxed trip.
The Cottage is owned by Chris and Lisa Beels. Chris grew up in California and moved to New York in 1994. Lisa is from Rochester, NY. We met at Sag Harbor, NY at a crowded Hamptons share house with 7 bedrooms and 20 people every weekend. Unlike everyone else there, we fell in love and got married :)
Our kids are Dane (9) and Annalise (3) and they love their Chappaqua schools.
Chris works in technology at a financial company in NYC and Lisa works part time at a local interior design firm. Previously Lisa worked as a personal chef after attending Le Cordon Bleu in London.
Chris Beels purchased this cottage in 2014
The cottage was recently renovated and is a great cozy retreat in an area with few hotels.
We were looking for a quiet place and found it in this cottage. It is exactly as advertised and great location for exploring the area. We would like to return again and experience this lovely home and area in the summer. The owners were gracious and accommodating, easy to work with.
My fiancé and I were looking for a quick weekend getaway and were surprised to find such a cozy cottage in such a great town!!! The owners are more than hospitable and made every effort to make our stay easy and private. The upstairs living area is great for cooking up something and enjoying a glass of wine and even though we did not take advantage of the breakfast they offered it seemed great!! We would love to return in the warmer weather since it is walking distance from a quaint town with great restaurants!! Thanks Lisa and Chris.
