About the property

4 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, Sleeps 12

Welcome to The King’s Gathering, a private four bedroom, three bathroom log cabin on three levels 1.5 miles south of the Salmon River and the famous lower fly zone in Altmar, NY. Host up to 12 people in our well-appointed 2,300 sq. ft. vacation home offering antiques and modern day conveniences. After catching your salmon or steelhead, hiking or cross-country skiing through our 63 wooded acres surrounded by state and county land, riding an ATV or snowmobile on area trails minutes from the property, or perhaps kayaking or canoeing in nearby ponds or rivers, rest assured of a great night’s sleep.

Each room is named after a fish that can be caught in the Salmon River. The 'King Room' offers a king bed on the main level surrounded by logs adjacent to a full bath. Upstairs features three bedrooms and a full bathroom. On this floor, the 'Coho Room' sleeps two on a queen bed and is painted the deep greens you would find on this fish. The 'Brown Trout Room' is painted a rich gold similar to the coloration of this fish. The blue 'Rainbow Trout Room' offers two twin beds with accents of red found on this gorgeous fish. The basement features slate flooring and a full bathroom with walk-in shower constructed of marble and river rocks. The basement area is also a great place to gather for board/video games or a friendly game of foosball.

All rooms and bunk bed feature the uber-comfy, exclusive “Marriott Bed” (9” deep foam mattress on a 10 ½” box spring). There are also sleeper sofas (queen & twin), chaise lounge, and a twin over full bunk bed available for additional guests. All bed and bath linens provided; down-alternative duvets used.

Enjoy all your home-cooked meals or morning espresso at our custom built farm table that extends to 10 feet and seats up to 14. Grill and eat the day’s catch at the picnic table on the lower back patio. Make s’mores and share tales of the day around the fire pit or challenge one another to horseshoes.

The cabin is 6.4 miles from Exit 34 on I-81 at NY-104 E in the Happy Valley region. Pulaski is 10 miles northwest. Tug Hill region, renowned for incredible snow accumulations, is 20 minutes north/east. 35 minutes south is Syracuse (and Syracuse International Airport). Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

We did have a wonderful stay and wish we could have stayed the whole week. The house is clean, well kept and big! We had plenty of room! Having lots, pans, appliances, and linens there is extremely helpful too! The only downfall is that there was no direct access to the snowmobile trail from the 63 acres of property. We had to trailer to nearby parking spots and drop our sleds there. Overall we had an excellent time and would like to come back in summer!

The cabin and property are simply amazing!!

The pics do not do this place justice! It is sooooo much bigger then it looks, and has plenty of room... cannot wait to go back! Key feature for me was Sunday... most places want you out by a certain time which can sometimes be early and a hassle depending on your plans. Henry msgd me early Sunday am and told me there was no one else coming in and to take our time... that was the icing on the cake! We still had the cabin for most of the day Sunday and we got to hike the gorgeous property, and take our time packing, and cleaning up. Thanks for sharing your peace of heaven with us this weekend Henry, and thank you even MORE for not rushing us out Sunday!!!!!
