Awesome house just steps from the lake. Our group of 16 fit with no problems and definitely could have fit a few more. We were big fans of the fire pit and large backyard. Lake was great and dock had plenty of room for all of us, only issue is that it is about 3-4 feet deep the entire way across the lake so we had to be cautious jumping off the dock... nothing to do with the house, of course. Another thing to be aware of is you have neighbors on both sides less than 20 feet from you, so if you are a big/noisy group it is something to be aware of. We didn't have any issues with anyone but felt we had to hold back a little to respect the neighbors. Other than that it was a great Memorial Day weekend and I would suggest this to anyone with a large group or family looking for a relaxing, quality home.
From the moment we booked and arrived, my family and I were pleasantly surprised. The other reviews were absolutely right....the online photos just don't do this house justice. It met an exceeded our expectations! Needless to say, the views were amazing and the layout of the house was perfect for three families of 7 adults and 5 children. There was fun had by all, both inside and outside of the home. We will definitely be back! Thank you so much for opening up your beautiful home to share with others! We truly appreciate it!
The house was perfect for our weekend gathering. As previous reviewers have said, the pictures don't really do it justice. It was too cold during our stay to really enjoy the lake, but the view was great and the dock was a lot of fun to hang out on. The firepit setup was awesome.
The house itself was big enough to accommodate a party of 18 comfortably, and could have slept far more than that if needed. The upstairs kitchen area was top notch and fully supplied, while the downstairs kitchen was perfect for what we needed to do.
In all, it was a great getaway and the guests were so impressed that they are already discussing returning when the weather is nicer.
The home was all we expected and more! It fit perfectly for our family get together. Open floor plan with enough bedrooms and baths to accommodate everyone. I liked having a yard that was clear of obstacles allowing an awesome view of the lake and easy walk to the boat dock. The home was very clean and had a closet full of games and toys for all ages. The boat house closet was well stocked as well! We had cool and rainy weather the first two days. Then the sun came out the third day and it was perfect weather the rest of our stay for boating, fishing, kayaking, and jet skiing... fun for everyone! More pics would better show off this lovely home. The manager was super nice and was attentive to our many questions. I would recommend this lake home to family and friends of any age.
Our family visits Lake Gaston 2-3 times every year. We have stayed in a different house every time, and this was, by far, the best house to date. The photos do not do it justice. It was a pleasure to work with Faith, who was very attentive to our many questions before the trip, and even while we were there. The yard is a gentle slope, which worked well for our family, that ranges in age from 3-72. During the day, when the sun was coming up, we sat on the lower deck area, in the shade, and after lunch, we moved to the upstairs deck, which was shaded by the house. When the sun started to go down and the mosquitos came out, we moved inside the screened in areas. The grandchildren loved the community beach area and playground. We especially loved the fact that the community boat ramp was right around the corner. The only issue we had while we were there was that there are stumps under the water, which caused much difficulty when docking, or taking the boat out for water activities. The water was 3-4 foot deep at the end of the dock, and for several yards out from there, but got much deeper toward the middle of the cove. Ours is a 24' with an outdrive. We kept bumping and getting caught on stumps. The neighbors were very helpful, giving us advice, but as much as we tried, we could not avoid those stumps. Once we made it to the middle of the cove, we had no problems. I noticed most of the boats in that cove were pontoon boats, and none of them had any problems. We also didn't have any problem with the jet skis. I'd guess, as long as you don't have an outdrive, you probably won't have any trouble. The stumps are not the fault of the homeowners, so I am still giving this listing 5 stars, just use caution when bringing a boat. Otherwise, it was a perfect week, with perfect weather.
This house was perfect for my girls weekend with old friends. Although it rained on Sat, there were still plenty things for us to do in the area and at the house. We had such a blast! Like many others have said, the pictures really don't do justice to the actual beauty of the house. We all agreed that it was comfortable and homey. Since there were 11 of us, we cooked all of our meals. Everything we needed to cook with was there and was perfect. A friend who was recently married thought it would be a great place also for her family to come and instantly set to look up available dates. The layout is perfect with two bedrooms on the first floor and 4 on the second floor. There is enough room for everyone to have their own space within the house, but small enough that it wasn't overwhelming. Even with the 11 girls, we never had much problems with sharing bathrooms or anything like that. We will most likely be coming here again for our next girls weekend.
