Rennovated Fisherman's House was a Special Place!

  • 3 of 5

We were contacted by the landlord to switch from Whaleback since he needed to work on it. The house we stayed in was on the edge of a beautiful cove. Tom was very helpful with advice and fixing the door of the washer. A fierce storm hit on their Thanksgiving-we lost power but stayed warm and dry. Nice "atmospheric", historical house with open kitchen, many bathrooms, and comfortable beds.

Owner's Response: This response was for the Old Fisherman's House and not the Whaleback Cottage The guests were great people & I would love to have them back I did all I could to make their stay a great one I am sorry for the washer door not working properly however I had it working when they needed it We had a wild storm losing power in our whole area for about 12 hours ( that's life on the ocean ) not a fault of the Old Fisherman's House & for most people here the crashing waves were exciting to watch

Absolutely magical.

We embraced and enjoyed every sunrise, sunset, and dolphins playing out front of the cottage.

The locals were warm and inviting, and the atmosphere here is one of a kind.

A location to die for.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great three nights at this delightful property. Everything we needed was available, except a washing machine. The scenery is stunning. Do take time to visit drop down the many side roads to avoid the crowds of Peggy's Cove. Prospect is so silent. Ryer 's is a must for lobster.

awesome maritime experience

  • 5 of 5

What a great & unique spot. We had whales swimming around the house and deer coming by for a visit. You can see the Peggy's Cove lighthouse from the master and living room also. If you enjoy a truly maritime ocean experience you'll find it here. Make sure to stop by at the art gallery of Tom's sweet wife, there are some marvellous artworks to look at and friendly locals to meet.

Location, view, comfort!!

  • 5 of 5

This charmer has it all. Waking up to the view this place offers can not get any better on the south shore. It's like you have Nova Scotia all to yourself!! The owner is close and can offer any info you need. Peggy's Cove is right around the corner and the freshly cook lobster we got at Ryer's was incredible. We gathered around the Whaleback Cottages big. inviting. dinning room table, feasted, laughed and then feed the leftover shells to the seabirds on the rocks near the water. Amazing stay...loved every minute.
