Beautiful custom built home tucked away in the Catskill Mountains with private lake view and access. Minutes away from the Trout Famous Beverkill River, this quite hidden home sleeps up to 10, has 2 full baths, 1 half bath, is pet friendly, has a jacuzzi bath & steam shower, large outside decks, beautiful gardens, gazebo on the lake, rowboat access, and endless hours of stargazing. 30 minutes to Bethel Woods Arts Center, 3 hours from NYC, minutes to the best trout fishing in America, available for big game hunting season and a great place for kids to just be kids.
We came as a group of 10 friends (3 couples, 4 singles) and had the perfect, relaxing fall getaway. The pictures don't do the house or property justice. The property is great- you basically have your own private pond/mini-lake on which you can kayak, rowboat, or do standup paddle (all provided, which was awesome) or sit in the screened-in gazebo or on the dock. There were 3 other houses alongside the lake but we never saw anyone else out there.
The house itself is bigger than I expected. The top deck adjacent to the Master loft area was perfect hangout to sip your coffee in the mornings while peeking through the trees down at the lake. We spent a lot of time as a group on the ground floor deck, eating lunch outside and playing card games at night. The Master loft area is beautiful, but note that this is completely open so be sure you have a person or two that is OK with limited privacy - the tradeoff is the gorgeous bathroom and jacuzzi tub. The bedrooms on the main level were great for couples - bigger than expected and the beds were very comfortable. The basement was much larger than expected and slept 4 single people, with room to double-up in two of the beds if necessary! The kitchen was great - large enough for a group of us to cook in and we were able to squeeze all 10 of us in at the kitchen table for group meals. The one (tiny) downfall of the house was the insulation: sound carries well throughout the house, so if you are downstairs or in the bedrooms on the first floor, you hear most walking around or talking that happens in the living room (unless people make a big effort to be really quiet). BUT, on the flipside, the doors to the back deck are really, really soundproof! People could be talking loudly and listening to music on the deck just outside of the living room, and you'd have no idea anything was happening outside :) So, if people want to stay up late and be loud, just get them to stay on the deck!
Another important detail is that the place was VERY clean and well-stocked. We had plenty of room in the refrigerator and freezer, every cooking utensil we could think of, and Mary even had spaces in the bathroom cabinets labeled "guest" and "private" - she is so well organized! Last but certainly not least, Mary was a perfect communicator and a very flexible host. She offered us an early check-in as well as a late checkout, and was extremely polite and timely with all communication. We will absolutely come back!
We had a wonderful time staying here for the weekend. The house was large, clean, and had everything we needed. The lake was perfect and we spent a lot of time in and around it.
Mary was super easy to communicate with and helpful with everything we needed. I would definitely come back in the future/
We had such an amazing weekend!! Mary was very easy to communicate with and always accessible. The house is tucked away from the main road up a slightly steep driveway, so you get a private atmosphere. The lake is located right across the street. Mary left a row boat, kayak, and stand up paddle board for us to use while we there. There was a private, screened in gazebo at the lake that was powered (ceiling fan and light), plus a bunch of outlets. So we were able to plug in a blue tooth speaker and play music while we hung out in the gazebo and in the lake. We had 8 men sleeping at the house, and we all slept very comfortably. Kitchen supplies were available, including some leftover supplies that were in the cabinets (garbage bags, sandwich bags, condiments, etc). Firewood was provided for us to make beautiful fires at night. We had such a great time that we're thinking about making it an annual destination! Highly recommended!
We absolutely loved your home. The grounds were beautiful and the house was everything we could've wanted.
We were there with 8 people and everyone had plenty of room. We ALL enjoyed in immensely!
I would recommend your tranquil retreat to everyone and look forward to coming back for many years to come.
Your home was everything the pictures and descriptions said it was.
Thank you Mary for your helpful knowledge of the house and surrounding area.

Went away for a 4 day weekend getaway with 4 couples and everyone had an amazing time. The pictures on the site are great but do not give the house or property justice. So much room in and around the house.
All the rooms were each uniquely decorated. Time and consideration went into every part of the house. Even the garden surrounding the house, if you pay attention you will see probably 20-30 different flower types. Close to a great little town and fishing a mile away at beaver kill. Overall a great relaxing retreat for friends, couples, or families. Mary the owner was very helpful and very easy to contact throughout the stay. Will definitely be coming back.
Bever kill river is with in walking distance for fishing swimming or tubing

The lake is spring fed and beautiful for swimming, water shoes are recommended. No motorized vehicles in the lake, no quads allowed on the property. You may fish in the lake, but it is a catch and release body of water.
