Cabin was as described, quite old, great location, 20 feet to water, great sunsets, good walking area on streets, easy access to S.B. and other villages.
We had a wonderful stay at this cozy cabin. It was warm and clean. You can tell that some of the earlier issues have been resolved with clean, new carpet and a flat-screen television. The bed was comfortable and place was very clean. I was impressed with the fresh, cut wood waiting for us and the fireplace was a welcome place to cuddle on our cool evenings. I would not recommend this for tall or very large people. The shower is small and the bathroom overall, needs more lighting. The kitchen has a slanted roof and has a very low ceiling. You simply can't beat the view over the lake. The sunset is amazing! If you are looking for space and luxury, you would be disappointed, but if you want cozy, simple accommodations with a beautiful view, this is a great pick.
If you are looking for modern & perfect, look elsewhere. This cabin is tiny, quirky & old...so windows stick, but do open. But I LOVED my stay and wouldn't hesitate to book again. The FULL sized bed was comfortable, the shower had good enough pressure for long hair, the itty bitty kitchen accommodated daily cooking, and had basic supplies needed to cook every meal at home. I attended an art workshop on the Peninsula and couldn't wait to come back daily. It is literally feet from the water. I paddle boarded from the shore twice neighbors fished from the doc. There are three little cabins and it feels like a mini vacation community on the shore. We built a fire in the provided ring on our last night here and watched the sunset and night skies...incredible! A reviewer on another site was super critical. The carpet isn't new, but everything was clean, and I found the decor charming and appropriate for the age and locale of the cabin. Midship was a little oasis for me!
We really enjoyed our stay at this small cottage situated about 20 yds. from the lake. We were about 7 miles from Sturgeon Bay. It was our 1st time visiting this area we loved it. The cottage was an older one bedroom that was inviting for rest and relaxation. It was extremely clean and comfortably furnished. The kitchen was stocked with the necessary supplies and cooking utensils. The views were spectacular whether sitting on the cottage deck, at the kitchen table or around the fire pit. The fire pit made for cozy evenings. We were surprised how quiet it was given the close proximity to the road. Even the other two rented cottages next to ours those guests were quiet. One of guests sent us home with several pounds of freshly caught chinook!!!!!!. Because of our location we were able to easily drive up the coast and enjoy the sights of the other smaller communities in northern Door County. The employee that checked us in was courteous and helpful in pointing out sights to see. The owners really should update their photos for this cottage because we were initially expecting a dated fishermen's cabin so we were pleasantly surprised by updated furnishings and decor. For good music, eats, and cold beer make sure you check Waterfront Mary's bar right on the lake. We definitely will be back and would stay at this cabin again but we are also interested in their other cabins too. Last thing the people that we encountered in Sturgeon Bay and the other smaller communities were welcoming and friendly.
Extra adults ( 16 years or older) are an additional $10 plus tax per night and fee would be collected upon check in
