The ultimate vacation escape property with endless possibilities for recreation and relaxation. Bring family and friends - there is plenty of room and activities for everybody!
The property is the historic - original - Delihant farm home (circa 1900) that has been completely remodeled over the years. Spacious, sunny rooms with beautiful wood flooring in most common rooms.
The Main House and Guest House are located on a large hill-top with beautiful black walnut trees that create a shaded canopy over the four acre front yard. An additional eight acres (located behind the houses) have woods, ravines and plenty of nature watching and hiking for everyone.
The property is complete with a private pool, trampoline, zip-line, jungle gym, game room (ping pong, air hockey, foosball and tons of board games), recreation room - with a GIANT 75' TV screen ideal for movie night. Plenty available for never ending family fun.
You might never want to leave the property but if you do - nearby activities include, boating, water skiing, swimming and fishing on Long Lake, Clear Lake or Corey Lake. Public access to lakes and boat rentals are available. The area also has many rivers and is great for canoeing/kayaking (several locations offer rentals)
Horseback riding is available year round only a few miles away at Camp Eberhart (YMCA). There are several golf courses in the area and cycling is popular as well. Also, the extremely adventurous can try Powerchutes (powered parachute planes) at Rouch Outdoor.
The nearby town of Three Rivers has a charming Main Street with wonderful stores and restaurants. Also the town has several national chain grocery stores, restaurants, a movie theater, bowling alley, miniature golf and much more.
In the winter, Swiss Valley Ski and Snowboard area is only six miles away. The property has a large private hill for sledding and on the many surrounding frozen lakes ice skating and ice fishing are popular activities.
Regardless of the season there is always plenty of activities for family and friends to have a great time together. This magnificent property has been a retreat for families for over 100 years.
The house looked just like its pictures. We had plenty of room to gather with our family and to find our own spaces.Everything we could need was provided and we enjoyed cooking and playing in the pool. We had a wonderful vacation surrounded by lakes and rivers.
A little piece of Heaven! The house and grounds were amazing, everything we needed was right there. We have rented homes for the last 7 years and this was the best by far! Becky was awesome making sure everything was perfect! Absolutely the most relaxing week ever!
Large grounds, great heated pool with outdoor sitting area. Nice to sit under the covered porch area to get out of the sun/rain. We enjoyed the heated pool and wandering the grounds with our dogs. WiFi was good and worked well. Large TV was nice. When we wanted to BBQ the gas for the BBQ was empty, and no additional tank available. Had to call and it was taken care of. The BBQ catch tray was also overflowing with food and I had to empty it (Fire hazard). BBQ brush was filthy, so I bought a new one. Sure it's still there. Inside the microwave was dirty so we had to clean it out. Covered porch was infested with spiders, webs everywhere. Expect a few, but there were everywhere. Spent a couple days spraying. Fire pit area was invaded by a ground hog, another one was living under the carriage house. They were entertaining, but made us not want to have a fire. No chairs, only logs to sit on at the fire pit. Firewood was available, but get it at your own risk. Stairs in the home would be tough for older people. For the money, upstairs bath should be updated and stain in upstairs bedroom carpet and carriage house should have been cleaned. Walking the trash down and having to get it was a bummer. A TV in the main house would be nice, even if it only had a DVD player. A bathroom in the carriage house would work. Air hockey has seen it's better days. If you want to go into town to pick up anything, expect a little cruise. With the 'Estate', you're basically paying for the pool area and the grounds. House is nice and big, but nothing spectacular. Expected more for the money. Grounds and pool 5 stars, and house 3 stars.
My family used this property while we were in the area for my son's wedding. We found the property to perfectly fit our needs. We invited my son's fiance's family for an afternoon barbeque and added to the wonderful occassion. We had adults visiting in the pool area, teens playing air hockey or watching big screen TV, and the younger kids on the trampoline or in the pool (heated for October use). Highly recommended!
We rented this lovely house for a family gathering of 11 adults and one infant. It was clean and well maintained, and except for a bit of a challenge with shower times (more on that below), we never felt crowded.
It was hot and humid during our stay, so the pool was much used and appreciated. One day friends with preteen kids visited, and they enjoyed the zip line, pool, and playground area immensely.
The house is very convenient to Garezers, the Latvian Center where we had a family christening. It was convenient to shopping in Three Rivers and Corey Lake orchards where we bought organic fruits and vegetables. There were fun restaurants and pontoons on lakes nearby for bachelor and bachelorette parties for one of the couples. We enjoyed the Amish town in nearby Shipshewana, indiana.
There was plenty of room for all of us. The only reason I didn't give five stars was that the downstairs bath had a claw foot tub with hand-held shower, which was charming, but...as most of us were over 55, it was too hard for us to get in and out of, and even the younger ones preferred the shower. This meant that 10 of us were sharing one bathroom for showers. It became quite a challenge when we all had to get ready for the same events and outings.
Becky, the manager, was very helpful, and the kitchen was well stocked with what we needed to prepare meals for a large group. The dining room accommodated all of us at meals.
The living room was a cool, quiet sanctuary with comfortable leather chairs and recliners. It was too hot to spend any time in the sunroom, but it looked inviting.
Most of the time we spent in the large breezeway between the main house and carriage house. We enjoyed walking around the beautifully maintained grounds.
I don't think anyone had time to watch TV, but it is huge.
My sister-in-law, who is Latvian and had rented other homes in the area in the past, said it was the nicest house and property by far of any they had ever stayed in.
Beautiful property. Private, clean, well furnished, lots of things for the kids (and adults!) to do. Becky, the property manager, was very helpful and quick to respond to our questions. We hope to return next year.
Fishing/water skiing and pontoon boats are available for rent for cruising the local lakes. Kayaks and canoes can be rented for trips down the many rivers. Horseback riding is available at stables close by. If you like picking your own fruits (seasonal) you can pick your own strawberries, grapes, apples and peaches at nearby orchards. Swiss Valley Ski and Snowboard Area is only 7 miles away. Notre Dame is only 40 miles away if you want to watch a football game in the fall. Much to do any time of year!!
