Beautiful resort and Molly was absolutely wonderful!
I would recommend this resort. I plan to return next year. The restaurant at the location was so good. They had a seafood soup that was so good we went back for a 2nd time
Kauai Beach Resort is a beautiful property with more amenities than we were able to use while we were there. Clean, comfortable and as described! Convenient to all the activities of the Island. We would definitely stay there again!
We enjoyed our stay at this property. The staff were very professional and quick to answer questions and make recommendations. Our room was clean but a little tired. I would stay there again.
What we didn't know was that there was a cleaning fee paid to the resort on departure and also if you had a car, parking was $16.95 per day. There were no other options.
The resort was convenient to the airport, beaches and restaurants. It is located on the busy side of the island so there was lots to see and do. The island isn'the very big so nothing was far away.
We booked this room through the VRBO website 5 months before our visit during the Christmas holidays. Two days before we flew to Lihue, we contacted the owner to make sure everything was OK and we explicitly asked whether there was anything we needed to know about the check-in procedure etc. The answer was that everything was fine and we should enjoy our stay. However, upon check-in we found out that this privately-owned room was overbooked and that we would need to move to a different room half-way through our stay. We thought it must have been a mistake, given how early we booked and that the owner never mentioned anything like this to us but unfortunately, after we contacted the owner, it turned out to be true. So after 4 nights, we wasted half a day of our vacation packing everything, checking out in the morning, moving all our stuff to the storage room, and unpacking it again later on in the new room. As if this was not enough, the room which the owner booked for us for the second part of our stay turned out to be a room with a king bed, while we had originally booked a room with two double beds, and we did this on purpose: we are a family of 4, so there was no way we could all sleep in the same bed. Given that this happened during Christmas time, the busiest time of the year, the people at the reception had the hardest time finding us another room. In the end we got a free upgrade to an oceanfront room (which was probably much more expensive than the room we had booked) but we still wasted valuable time stressing about switching rooms in the middle of our vacation. If it was not for this, we would have given this resort five stars because it really is a beautiful place in a great location.
- Beautiful resort
- Great location in Kaua'i
- Friendly, hospitable staff
- Free airport pick-up and drop-off (phones provided at airport near baggage claim)
- Good choices for dining
- Clean amenities in resort (public restrooms, laundry room)
- note: there were resort fees for servicing, check-in and hospitality (for DVD card, pool towel use) which we only found out at check-in (not when booking on vrbo)
- as there was a double-booking with our booking, we stayed in a resort room, then had to move to the private owned room half-way through our stay (which we found out at check-in)
Overall, a wonderful stay and we would stay at the resort again.
