Sweet Little Cabin in the Trees....
Welcome to The Cabin on Creekside Commons. This secluded getaway offers the best of both worlds: a beautiful, rural setting with an easy 10 minute drive (or 30 minute scenic bike ride) to both downtown Eureka and downtown Arcata.
Creekside Commons is a beautiful jointly owned five acre retreat in the heart of the redwoods. Our goals include eliminating boundaries and pursuing common goals when possible. One goal we have in common, is to be able to provide a healing and restful retreat for our guests. Whether you choose to stay at the Cottage or the Cabin we hope your stay with us is rejuvenating and adventuresome.
Step outside and into an enchanted redwood grove,, enjoy fresh vegetables from our organic garden, luxuriate with an outdoor shower or hot tub, meditate in your own redwood sanctuary grove, spend an evening by the fire pit.
We are excited to be able to offer an on site massage therapist. Ryan Knotts has 9 years experience as a massage therapist and is trained in many massage/bodywork modalities including:
Swedish techniques for those who want a relaxing massage that increases circulation and decreases stress, deep tissue/ therapeutic body work for those who have specific ailments, clothed body work and energy massage for those who prefer a stretching style or Reiki style massage and acupressure for those who prefer pressure point and meridian therapy. His focus is on listening to the body and breath, and finding ways to work with the client to exact real change in the muscles and overall health.
There's plenty to see and do in the area. Enjoy events such as the Kinetic Sculpture Race, North Country Fair, Film Festivals and weekly farmer's markets. Humboldt county has multiple wine tasting rooms and craft beers. Live music and theatre are cornerstones of Humboldt county culture. For the outdoor adventurer, enjoy the majestic redwood forests, guided birdwatching tours, miles of coastal beaches and sunny days at inland rivers.

We loved staying here!! John’s wife and dog greeted us and showed us around when we first arrived, and the cabin was well stocked with everything we needed in the kitchen and bathroom. The wood burning stove provided plenty of heat in the cabin, and it was so cozy! Also loved the hot tub, we felt like we had privacy even though it was on the deck of the main house. Great location equidistant to Eureka and Arcata. We would definitely stay again if we were in th area!!
Little cabin in the trees
We had a great time using this cabin as a home-base for a trip to the redwoods. The Creekside property is verdant and totally covered in fun art. It was a lovely retreat; I wish we'd stayed longer.
Sweet Cabin in the woods
This is our 2nd time staying here and just love it. Peaceful and quiet, super for sleeping. John has provided great feeling sheets on the bed with no lack of covers to make you feel cozy. There is always kindling and wood provided daily. Internet can be a little slow for streaming movies, but there is too much to do there anyway. The hot tub is a Godsend in the winter, probably summer too but we haven’t stayed there in the summer yet. Lovely place.
peaceful, magical redwood retreat
This is our second time staying at this lovely redwood cabin, as my partner and I enjoyed our first stay so much! We appreciate the cozy cabin with it's woodstove and super comfortable bed, and the opportunity to soak in the hot tub under the moonlight. There are amazing hiking trails to explore that begin right behind the cabin. It's a magical feeling to be surrounded by the majestic quiet of the redwood groves; even over New Year's, our stay was extremely quiet and peaceful. We also appreciate John and his wife's hospitality, and will definitely be back!
Perfect for us! A hot tub, stars, and redwood trees. Warm & cozy cabin... Felt like home.
John, the host, was friendly and helpful... He stayed around until we arrived (after dark) to ensure we settled in and had everything. Some might call the cabin "rustic," but I say it is super comfy - very well heated (it was frosty out) and has homemade touches that were functional yet creative. Overall, I got the impression that the cabin is well loved and cared for. We look forward to returning.
exactly as advertised!
This is a very "sweet" cabin indeed! Very clean, cute, quiet space with everything you need! My only concern is the hotel size mini refrigerator, but if you are not planning a great deal of food and cooking big meals this place is Perfect!!! John was very welcoming and helpful
Minutes from beaches, the university, old-town Eureka, the Arcata Plaza and of course the Old growth Redwoods.
