My family of 8 stayed at TikiNuki August 9th through the 14th. This was the first time my family had rented someone's home, so we were a little apprehensive about this new experience. Our top concerns were the location, size of the house, the neighbors, proximity to the beach, house amenities, and most importantly...cleanliness! The location of the house was a fairly rural setting...exactly what we wanted! Most of the neighbors were hermits, we only saw a few and they were very friendly. The first day we only saw 6 people on the beach and 3 of those people we saw twice :) The most people we saw on the beach was 10 and that was on a Saturday and they were really far away!! The beach was so close to the house! I stepped off the distance from the house steps to the wet sand - only 46 steps!!! When I woke up each morning all I could see was ocean! It appeared as if I were waking up in the middle of the ocean every morning! The size of the house was not so large that you felt lost nor was it small and cramped feeling. All the appliances in the home are modern. The decor was gorgeous. The pictures of the house are accurate, but do not portray the cleanliness and hominess. The kitchen had more stuff than I have in my own kitchen. We used the charcoal grill everyday to cook fresh seafood (If you want the freshest seafood you'll ever eat, you've got to get it from Mineral Springs in Panacea). The area underneath the house is concreted with a handy area to clean fish or clean and sort your beach finds. Most of our days consisted of beachcombing, walks on the beach, and endless hours of running up and down the beach at night with flashlights, trying to catch ghost crabs. It's also very peaceful to just sit/lie on the beach and be mesmerized by the waves, day or night. This place is so remarkable that we only left the home for fresh seafood in Panacea and one excursion to Wakulla Springs State Park. I guess I need to point out a negative about this house/location so no one thinks I'm a paid advertizer for this home. Lol!! Hmmmm....the knives in the kitchen were a little dull (there was a knife sharpner in the drawer)! Thats the only complaint I can come up with:) The home owners, Jane and Byron were quick with responses (usually within minutes) and very accommodating. I had a few last-minute requests and Jane and Byron met them with a cheerful, helpful attitude. We made wonderful memories at this home. We hope to see TikiNuki again!!!
We loved this home and the quiet beach. This home is beautiful and pictures don't do it justice.
The sunrises are the most beautiful we have ever seen. Our kids loved the beach, kayaking, fishing and shell gathering. Look no further for a quiet and relaxing vacation in a beautiful home.
We absolutely loved this place! So peaceful and quiet…perfect when you have 3 little ones! Loved the privacy and that there were no "high-rise" condos around. The house decor was gorgeous and very spacious! We loved it so much that we want to make this an annual family event!
We had a wonderful week at tiki nuki with our family. Kids are 22, 20 and 17- the kayaks were a favorite daily activity. Beach is private, clean and secluded. The house was exactly as photos show, nicely decorated and well appointed.
Only issue we ran into was that local stores stop selling wood in the summer, so we couldn't have a fire at night. Overall an awesome week of beach time and family fun.
Stayed here for work and it ended up serving our needs nicely -- a quiet home to relax and unwind after a work-filled day. The house sits steps away from the water & really takes advantage of the views with 2 outdoor decks and large fire pit that my colleagues and I used quite often throughout the week. The inside was comfortable--the first floor has a kitchen, family room with satellite TV, plus a powder room. The upstairs has 2 guest bedrooms -- both with water views-- and 1 full bath. The 3rd bedroom upstairs, the master, also has water views & a 3/4 bath -- tub in the bedroom, sink in bedroom, then a toilet room. I found it strange that there wasn't a shower in the master. It was a slight inconvenience as 3 of us shared 1 shower, but we made it work. A stacked washer/dryer is also upstairs which is really a bonus. Rooms were clean, linens were fine. I was a bit cramped for storage space in my room (tiny closet, no dresser) as well as in the bathroom, but not a major problem. The kitchen is equipped with the basics.... I only wish it had some spice staples, which aren't cost effective to purchase if only staying a week. A couple things of note: the water is technically a brackish river, so not really the Gulf. I wouldn't swim in it. Also, nights & early mornings, the beach is covered with ghost crabs -- they aren't harmful, but I found it difficult to run barefoot in the mornings when they were coming out of their sand holes. Alternatively, the star gazing in incredible as there is no light pollution for miles. Nights were absolutely beautiful!
We spent the month of March 2016 and it was wonderful. What a wonderful beach and area of complete solitude ... the nearby neighbors were all very nice. This home has wonderful features and the owner was very responsive and always available to answer any questions we had. We certainly wouldn't hesitate to return here for another stay should the opportunity be available for us.
