About Carolina Valenti

Dear Traveller, this is my grand father's apartment and, even if Trastevere has changed very much during the last century, I believe that this apartment kept his charm untouched. I am trying booking after booking, to improve it to make you all more comfortable while staying at my house. Also I am a proud mommy of 2 toddlers and so if you will come with your children, niece or nephews, grandchildren or friends, I will be happy to assist you with their needs, since I know what means travelling with the little ones!

Charming apartment in the heart of Trastevere. Doorman, A/C and wi-fi
average rating of 4.5 based on 48 reviews

Lovely apartment which certainly is efficient and the location is fabulous!

  • 4 of 5

We were a group of six women spending two days in Rome before traveling to our final destination. The size of the apartment is perfect for this size group. The living area was comfortable but could use new slipcovers on sofas and chairs. The location was perfect! Easy walking distance to the Vatican, shopping and piazzas. The restaurants close by are excellent The apartment is very quiet and the noise from the night life in the area was not disturbing. The only drawback for our group was that there was only one set of keys to the apartment. It took some coordination to have everyone returning at the same time. However, I would certainly recommend this apartment to anyone going in a group.

Good location, bad accommodations.

  • 2 of 5

The single beds and one of the double bed were very uncomfortable and ancient. The couches were very old and dirty, we had to cover them and the bigger couch was so old that the cushions were falling off the frame when one would try to seat on it. The location was very convenient for walking though.

The apartment was not well equipped. There was only one set of keys for the front door, which made it inconvenient for the six of us. Air conditioner was leaking in the bedroom across from the kitchen. Coffee machine does not work, if one is interested in making a morning cup of coffee. We do not recommend that you rent this place. It does have a convenient location, an elevator and there a taxi stand down the street, but found the accommodations lacking.

Perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of 6, and this property was our last stay on a 2 week trip to Amsterdam, Paris, Venice and Rome. The location is shockingly perfect! Beautiful view of the Tiber river out the window, next to a prime location in Trastevere, close to numerous small restaurants, bars, and gathering spots. Apartment was on the 3rd floor, but an elevator made it easy and convenient to reach. The apartment was very large, with high ceilings. We easily walked to the Vatican one morning (maybe a 25 minute walk), to the Coliseum the next day (about 25 minutes also), then walked to multiple other areas of Rome during our 4 day stay. The owner, Carolina assisted us in getting a private car from the Termini train station at the last minute (thank you!), as a family of 6 it can be difficult/expensive to get a taxi to carry all of us with luggage. We were met by her assistant who checked us in and showed us the apartment. During our stay we had a few issues - one of the bathrooms flooded when we used the shower or the sink, but we were able to use the other bathroom for the rest of the stay. Also, we were only provided with only one key, we were told the previous guests had lost the other key. This caused us some concerns since we were not able to go out and leave the kids alone in the apartment with the doors locked, if we locked them in they could not get out in an emergency. And some minor things like the electric coffee maker not working, and we were told that the previous guests broke the TV so it was not working. We were told that they also broke one of the windows in the living room so we could not open the shutters on that window. Also one other quirky thing - when we checked out, we had to unlock the door at the street level with the key, then one person had to hold that door open while another went back upstairs to leave the key in the apartment and come back down. If the person holding the door at street level slipped or let that door close for any reason, the other person would not have been able to get out of the building! Kind of strange. There was a restaurant/bar right outside the building, but we didn't really notice the noise even though it was very busy. Still giving the place 5 stars, primarily because of the amount of space and the location. If you stay here you will be very happy with the location and all the activity that is literally outside your doorstep. Thank you Carolina!

Great place and location

  • 5 of 5

We only stayed 2 nights but would have loved to stay longer. The apartment was great, very spacious, the beds were comfortable and it had everything we needed for 6 people. We absolutely loved the location - within walking distance of all the sights and close to lots of great restaurants and bars. Would not hesitate to stay there again. Thanks Carolina for arranging transportation for us from the airport. Even though our plane arrived an hour and a half early the driver was there waiting for us. Loved Italy!!

A beautiful and comfortable apartment loved by all our family!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was gorgeous. It has soaring high ceiling and beautifully decorated walls. It feels spacious for the five of us. Nearly each room has a/c, which is a big plus in the summer. Kitchen is well stocked for cooking simple meals. The showers in the bathrooms have consistent water pressure and temperature. When you travel a lot and with elderlies and a young kid, these things matter a lot. The location is great. We walked to lots of places and when we want to take a taxi, the taxi stand is right across street.

Before I booked the place, I was a bit concerned about the noise at night. I found, however, the noise level was bearable to us, my 70 year old parents and our 7 year old daughter. The key is you need to pull down the wooden shutters at night. They work well to block out the sun during the day and are really essential to block out a lot of noise at night if you pull them close. I suspect that the prior travelers who complained about the noises didn't do so and only closed the windows. With closed shutter and window, the noise is much lower and manageable unless you are a super sensitive or light sleeper. Let's face it. You want to be in the middle of actions, right? Then a little noise is part of the package.

Overall, we had a very comfortable stay and felt like it was a nice home base for us. It is not easy to please all of us, the old, the young and the middle. But Carolina's apartment did it!

Good flat in excellent location

  • 4 of 5

This flat is described fairly on the website and we agree with most of the reviews already posted. Carolina was away during our stay, so we did not meet her, but communication was excellent and we were able to arrange early access, having arrived in Rome from the country earlier than expected. On a Saturday lunchtime it was easy to park on the main road outside and our fears that driving in Rome traffic would be traumatic were unfounded. We came in from the East.

Facilities and comfort were generally good, although some minor details would benefit from some attention. (That shower head still needs fixing and there was no lock on one of the bathroom doors.) We were grateful for the coffee provided in the kitchen. Cleaners were there when we arrived and had done a good job.

Being new to Rome we appreciated the proximity to the city centre and to the restaurants and bars of Trastevere; the night-time bustle outside did not disturb us. Returning to the airport (we had handed back our hire cars on arrival) we found the route via the no 8 tram and Trastevere station easy and cheaper than the train from Termini.

We would go back.
