Peaceful anniversary stay

Great, quiet location on the river. Gracious host. Cozy and clean apartment. Equal distance to Abingdon and Damascus. Highly recommend dinner at Harvest Table. Bike ride on creeper trail starting at white top station was beautiful and amazing.

Historic Gem on the Creeper Trail

  • 5 of 5

Historians and bicyclists will love this best kept secret! Upon entering the stairway, my first thoughts were of how much it reminded me of my grandparents' home in a small farming community. Such a simple, clean, well-stocked apartment with a very comfortable queen bed is a joy indeed, complete with the sights and sounds of a by-gone era. Sit on the upper deck and listen to water rushing across the rocks; watch the river flow swiftly by; or walk across the street and sit directly beside the river in a swing while gentle breezes blow a meditatively low-toned wind chime reminiscent of Tibet. To top it off, the owners take customer service seriously. I highly recommend it for anyone that can negotiate stairs well.

Cozy, comfortable and convenient!

  • 5 of 5

This is an absolutely great find, nestled into the countryside and surrounded by beautiful nature. The apt. Was gorgeous inside, with attention to every detail you could imagine. The bed was extremely comfortable as well as the couch! My husband and I were very impressed that Mark, the owner actually stopped by to bring us an extra space heater as it was getting chilly that night. Other than the rain that hurricane Matthew brought, we had an absolutely love stay. Thank you to Donato and Mark.

Great weekend away to bike at Virginia Creeper bike trail

  • 5 of 5

This property has a beautiful view of the river and is right on the bottom of the Va Creeper trail in between Abingdon and Damascus. The apartment was clean and bright and the towels were very plush. There is an outside deck and it was fun to people watch the cyclists during the day and we had a gorgeous moon view over the river at night. Below the apartment is a breakfast and sandwich shop. We stayed here to celebrate our anniversary so thank you! Our only suggestion is that the door to the deck could use drapes because the early morning sun shines intensely right into the bed room.
