This wonderful mountain house is centrally located in Lake Almanor Country Club. Both recreation area's are very close by, lake access is within 5 minutes walking distance.
The property features ample off road parking and also allows drive through access for trailers and boats.
The house is very tastefully decorated with original art, earthy colors and high end furnishings. Contemporary but with a definite cabin/mountain feel, open but cozy. Includes a wood burning stove.
The living area's are bright and airy with skylights to view the stars. Upstairs bedrooms each have their own balconies to view the lake.
A very large deck with patio furniture and grill is a wonderful place for entertaining family and friends.
The patio overlooks a large grass lawn area which is ideal for lawn games, children's play area, etc. Bring your badminton or lawn croquet set :)
A wonderful home to relax in.
Four and a half stars actually! :)
First time visiting Lake Almanor and what a BEAUTIFUL area! My family (two teenage boys, husband and myself) loved staying on the peninsula... a short walk down to the very tip (less than 3/4 mile) and even shorter walk to east side beach access (.25 miles). The peninsula tip was a favorite spot of ours to swim (water very smooth in the morning and more choppy in the afternoons... temp was so refreshing and not cold at all once we were in... bring goggles and you can even spot fish and minnows... on big fish let me touch it's tail!), kayak (saw a bald eagle one day), star gaze (great Milky Way photos and lots of shooting star sightings) and lots of dogs to visit there. Another favorite spot of ours was the rec one area in the country club. We spent hours playing horse shoes, shuffle board, and pickle ball. Very nice tennis courts too. The swim area there was more geared to younger kids so we swam mostly out at the point. I was so impressed with the huge variety of evergreens and how healthy they all looked. Lots of deer wandered through our yard daily. Even saw some babies and a couple bucks.
The house was perfect size/cozy for our family. I think accommodating 8 might be a bit crowded. It was clean upon arrival and easy to get into. East facing deck was nice in evening since the hot sun was on the other side. It was 93-94 degrees during our stay and the 3 giant skylights in the family room let in so much heat that the afternoons were quite toasty inside (might be nice to have some way to cover them on hot days) but I was told those were the hottest days they've had there so far this year. Whole house fan helped in the evening to pull the heat out. Beds were comfortable (although a few of the pillows could use replacing... sour smelling), wifi and cell coverage was good, kitchen was well stocked, fridge leaked water into the bottom drawer but I'm sure would be an easy fix.
Peninsula market was surprisingly well stocked with everything you could need, even fresh fruits and veggies. Nice not having to drive all the way to Chester to get anything we forgot. We only ate out one night of the four we stayed but we strongly recommend Tantardino's Pasta and Pizza. So good! Had we been able to say one more day we would have for sure taken the 50-60 min drive to Lassen. We could see it from the point but would have loved to explore it up close and personally!
We had an amazing vacation. The house was the perfect size. Had everything we needed. Great location with easy access. Everything was comfortable, outside deck area was perfect size. The lawn area was fun to play games. We could see the lake too. We will rent this property again.
Starry Nights was the perfect location for our mini family reunion. We all had comfy beds and plenty of room to have a meal together. The owners changed out the table to accommodate more in the dining room so that was a nice surprise. The closeness to the lake was perfect. The double entry to the property accommodated our vehicles and our guests. Many rentals require you to bring your own linens. This owner provides all and they are very luxurious. We will consider this property in the future for both the accommodations and the location on the peninsula and proximity to Mount Lassen Volcanic Park.. There was a side trip to Burney Falls which was beautiful even in the rain.
Thank you Jacque for quick responses to my many questions prior to booking as well as after arrival.
This home is adorable and was perfect for our Christmas family vacation. We even got an extra special white Christmas with light snow falling in Christmas Eve! Just perfect.
The house is cozy and warm and well laid out with two bathrooms and three bedrooms. While not large, everyone had enough space to have some privacy for reading or the kids playing with toys upstairs while the adults enjoyed conversation in the living room. Great artwork and comfortable furniture too.
The kitchen is small but perfect, has everything you could need and well laid out with a gas range and every reasonable appliance you could need (Drip Coffee maker, Keurig coffee maker, toaster, microwave, garbage disposal, waffle maker, coffee grinder, etc) I loved cooking there because there was a small window to the dining area so you could be part of the conversation while cooking. And really cute too, just sort of perfect.
House has high speed internet and also ATT cell coverage. New flatscreen TV with Netflix and Hulu as well.
It is also just a 5 minute walk to the point of the peninsula which became our nightly walk to watch the sunset.
The owner was very responsive to questions and super helpful. We loved this place and didn't want to leave!
Everything was nice and clean, location is awesome for those who want a quite time close to "the point". Cool open floor plan and great back deck. Nicely equipted kitchen, lots of spices and wonderful decorating.
