About Richard Johnson (Ritch)
Our family purchased the cabin in '94 and have fixed it up to the cute lil cabin on the river you see today. We love this spot! We think you will enjoy and love it as much as we do. We love our Gingerbread or Swiss Chalet as some have called it. The cabin is the best spot on the river, an amazing spot! We think you will think so too!

Why Richard Johnson (Ritch) chose Navajo Dam
Most beautiful spot on the river. Reason enough! So many wins! Great fishing just steps from the cabin, BBQ, picnic tables, fire pit, horseshoes and pits, grassed yards, huge trees, space to breathe, private and enclosed property, the hummingbirds, deer and other wildlife galore! Last renter guy spotted a Bobcat the other day!
What makes this Cabin unique
Fully set up and comfy Cabin; your own private property on the river. Need I say more? Views, sounds, fishing, wildlife, peace and quiet, etc... Short drive to the fun of the lake. Bring your boat and toys or rent them at the marina. Boating, float fishing, fly and standard fishing, tubing the river, jet skiing, dirt bikes, ATV's, four wheeling, exploring ancient sites, and more, more, more..... Fantastic! I'm sitting on the covered and screened in porch, writing this description. I'm listening to the river, some music and the camp fire in the fire pit crackling away.

LOVE this place!
This is a fantastic cabin, great location, with many things to do to keep you occupied. Right on the river with great views, and the fishing is the best, right in your backyard!! Ritch is so accommodating and it was a pleasure to stay at his place. Restaurants and the little store are nearby, as well as the lake. We stayed mostly at the cabin, it was so perfect! BBQed every night, campfires in the pit, fishing, sightseeing. Ritch's cabin has all you need and more. I can't say enough about this place - I highly recommend staying here, you won't regret it. Thank Ritch for all you do. We will be back :)
Awesome! I’m so glad you all had a great time! You are welcome back anytime!
The cottage was great and had all the amenities we needed. With the adjacent San Juan River makes me want to start to Fly Fish. We also want to come back during the colder months to experience winter in the cottage.
This was a very nice location, close to the river. Nice place to relax and grill. We enjoyed the river location.
Great place to get away from it all!
The cabin was very clean and came with everything you could need. I was extremely impressed by the details that Ritch has included to really make you feel at home. He has put thought into making this a great vacation home. The property is located right on the river where fishing can be done and also very close to a few other great fishing spots at Navajo State Park. The Marina is close by where you can rent different water crafts and have some fun. People at the nearby shops were very friendly and genuinely welcoming. This is definitely the place to come if you want to get away, disconnect and enjoy some great fishing.
Awesome fishing cabin
Stayed in this cute cabin for three nights including the 4th of July. Awesome location right by the san Juan river. Caught and released some big fish., browns and rainbows. Cabin had everything we needed, grill, pans, utensils. fire pit and even horseshoes. The owner Ritch. Was very helpful and e-mailed us the directions and instructions to check-in and check-out. Super easy and convenient. We would definitely stay there again!
Awesome! I am so glad you all had a good time! The property and cabin look great. Thanks for taking such good care of it!
See you next time!
Second stay = Just as lovely
Thanks Ritch for sharing your beautiful cottage by the river with us yet again. While the weather did not cooperate like it did the first visit (oh really New Mexico, rain, snow and sleet, lol), we stayed snuggled up with a fire, binged on Netflix and slept like hibernating bears. My husband did manage to fish one morning and we took a visit to the Aztec ruins, which were very interesting. In all a wonderful stay and we will be back!!!
Some of the best fishing spots in New Mexico, hunting areas, and the certainly the best campfire spot on the river!
The river will be in your front yard!
