Overview

About the property

Originally built in the 19th century, our beautiful three-story Georgetown row house is fully updated while still maintaining its historic federal charm.

The street level entrance brings you to a small foyer. To the left of the foyer is a den with a full-sized sleeper sofa, full bath and a small walk-in closet. The brand new washer and dryer are also on this floor.

A flight of stairs leads you to the main floor which features an open floor plan and original heart-of-pine floors throughout.

The well appointed chef's kitchen includes a cozy breakfast nook. From the kitchen, French doors open to a private garden patio perfect for morning coffee or evening cocktails.

The rest of the main level is divided between an elegant formal dining room and a cozy living room with a large feather-down sectional, entertainment system and double-sided gas fireplace. There is also a powder room located on this floor.

The top floor features two master suites each with a private full bath.

The larger master suite at the rear of the house features floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the rear patio and garden. The king size Tempurpedic bed affords a distant view of the Washington monument. The adjoining master bath includes a double-sink vanity, a marble walk-in shower, and a clawfoot tub.

The second master suite at the front of the house features a plush queen size bed, views of the street below, and an attached bathroom with a large marble shower.

The Neighborhood

A stroll through the historic neighborhood with its beautiful tree lined streets, stately row houses, and rich history transports you to another time.

Dine at Billy Martin's Tavern, where JFK proposed to Jackie. Take a walking tour of the houses that the Kennedy's lived in during their time in Washington, many of which are on our street. Enjoying shopping on famous M Street or take a walk along the 180-year-old Chesapeake & Ohio Canal. Head down to Washington Harbour, with close-up views of the Potomac river, Roosevelt Island and the Kennedy Center. Or visit Dumbarton Oaks, the former home of Mildred and Robert Woods Bliss. The exceptional garden features an antique Provençal fountain, a mini Roman amphitheater, and a 16th-century-style arbor.

When you're ready to see the rest of what D.C. has to offer, you'll find the White House, Capitol, monuments, and Smithsonian museums are all within three miles of our home.

Our house is very close to Georgetown University, George Washington University, the National Cathedral, and the Kennedy Center.

Getting Around

Conveniently located in the heart of Georgetown near the intersection of N St and Wisconsin Avenue, our house is literally steps from all the shopping, dinning and entertainment Georgetown has to offer.

If you are here to visit your son or daughter, it is only a six block walk to Georgetown University and ten blocks to George Washington University.

There are multiple bus routes that stop within a block or two our home, including the Circulator, a bus designed with tourists in mind that has routes throughout the city.

Dupont Circle Metro and Foggy Bottom Metro are both one mile from our house and reachable by bus transfer.

Of course taxis are ubiquitous, and Uber Car Service is also readily available. Both taxis and Uber accept major credit cards.

Other Things to Note

Like all big cities Washington can be noisy. Homes in Georgetown are right on the street, and the older homes you'll find here are generally not the most soundproof. If you are sensitive to noise you may want to consider alternative accommodations.

Lovely historic home in an ideal location

  • 5 of 5

Our 30 days of summer living in this lovely home in Georgetown left us all hoping we didn't have to leave so soon. This was our (with husband and our 17 year old teenager) 5th trip to Washington DC, one of our favorite cities of the world, and Georgetown's tree lined brick sidewalk historic neighborhood is always on our go-to list. So we were delighted to make our home in Georgetown for a month - and we found a wonderful house! Paul and Emily have created a very comfortable, well appointed, fashionable home that encourages you to relax and gain the best of city living. We cooked many a meal in the well stocked kitchen and the outdoor BBQ patio area, walked down the street and around the corner for great restaurant dining and shopping, and stolled to the Kennedy Center for evening performances. We rented bikes nearby and rode to the Mall and the Smithsonian Museums and Galleries. At the end of our daily exploration, our comfortable air conditioned quiet home was awaiting. The owners of this property really stand out on service and support. We look forward to coming back to soon!

I would highly recommend staying here. Owners were lovely and responsive to work with. Sound system worked well but couldn't figure out how to work the LR sound. Other than that everything was perfect! I would highly recommend this Location and rental.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 6 stayed in this beautiful home for a week of summer vacation, and it couldn't have been more perfect! The location was ideal for sightseeing in DC, but it also provided a great escape from the tourist bustle. We really enjoyed walking around the neighborhood, trying different restaurants and checking out all the cute shops. Our hosts, Paul and Emily, were extremely gracious, accommodating and helpful with all the details of our stay, from transportation suggestions to dining options. They were so easy to work with! Their home was fully stocked with toiletries and other necessities, so even if we found that we had forgotten to bring something...no worries, because chances were that we'd find that it was provided for us. It's a beautiful home with plenty of room to spread out, as well as great living areas for the group to be together, including outdoor seating if the weather cooperates. We loved our stay, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone making a trip to the DC area.

A flawless experience, beautiful home and gracious hosts

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed for almost three weeks in this beautifully appointed, comfortable, well equipped home and already have made plans to return. That's how much we love it! The quality of the home's stylish furnishings and its perfect location made our time in DC so much more enjoyable. The elegant, historic house has a very functional floor plan and a great flow with three full bedrooms and three full bathrooms. What is truly special about this property is its owners, Paul and Emily. They were attentive, accommodating, helpful and generous throughout the process. No question was too small and their care as hosts sets them apart. Special thanks for allowing us to extend our stay when our plans changed unexpectedly. We already are looking forward to our next stay at this exceptional Georgetown property.

We loved it!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week in May and loved everything about this gorgeous property. The house is beautiful, clean and very thoughtfully equipped. The location is perfect for anyone who wants to be close to the bustle of DC but yet be on a quiet street, and the owner Paul was so attentive in helping us with any questions we had. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and when we return to DC would love to stay again.
