About Cami Dailey

After graduating from Southern Utah University my husband and I relocated to Southern California for work. After starting our family we realized that Cedar City was the place we wanted them to grow up. We moved back to Cedar in 2004 and started a construction company focused on custom high-end homes here in Southern Utah. We were fortunate enough to acquire Higbee House in 2013 and have enjoyed sharing it with guests from all over the world.

Cami Dailey purchased this house in 2013

Why Cami Dailey chose Utah

My Grandma Taylor gave me two very special gifts, one was a love of anything with a history and two was that she taught me that I could fix, paint, clean, or repair anything! I think often of how much she would have loved Higbee House. My family and I have had so much fun taking this grand old lady of a house and bringing her into the 21st century. I have loved seeing the happy faces of our guests as they explore the house and the yard and make even more happy memories in this house that has been cherished by many families over the years.

What makes this house unique

As we renovated the house in the spring of 2013 I had some ideas of how I would like the rooms to look but was pleasantly surprised when they starting taking on their own personalities as if they already had their own plans! Each room has wonderful Nova foam mattresses and individual a/c units to keep you so comfy.

All of the architectural features in the house will remind you of a time when things were done with more attention to detail. From the transoms to the hand painted trim work Higbee House will remind you of another time.

One of my favorite things about the house are the porches. The large back porch on a summer evening is amazing! The house itself shades the porch in the evening making it the perfect temperature for outdoor dining/barbequing or just sitting with a cool drink watching the kids play in the back yard. The front porch is perfect for catching some morning sun with a mug in your hand.

If you get lucky and are able to come in the early fall to Higbee you can pick fresh plums or peaches off of the trees in the yard. We even have fresh herbs back against the fence to add to your meals that can be cooked in our full kitchen or out on the porch on the grill.

Our latest addition (thanks to an idea from my kiddos) are the beach cruisers! One of our favorite things to do on a summer evening is to ride bikes over to SUU campus and downtown Cedar City.

Last but not least of course we have great wifi with netflix on our smart tv's so you can cuddle up on the couch at the end of a long fun filled day and just relax.

Wonderful home with great location

  • 5 of 5

The Historic Higbee House is exactly as described: a charming home; beautifully decorated; well appointed; fabulous porches and yard. We have rented this property for 2 years while visiting the Utah Shakespeare Festival. It is within easy walking distance of SUU, the USF venue and downtown Cedar City. Our group includes 4 seniors and 3 teenagers. Each of us found something to love about this home and look forward to returning next year. Cami is a pleasure to work with. She is thoughtful, efficient, pleasant and readily accessible when questions arise. Thanks, Cami, for another great experience!

Our fav!

  • 5 of 5

We rent houses every where we travel, but Cami is one of the best! We had a few problems (as old houses do) and she was right on them and took care of them with a smile. Always look forward to renting from her!

Wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay, Cami was a wonderful and accommodating host! The house was great, well stocked and clean. Its a historic house so there are squeaky floors but outside of that everything was perfect. Netflix and internet were very good. The kids built a snowman in the huge backyard and the house was central to a lot of restaurants and stores.

Thanks Cami!

Owner's Response: Hi John! Thanks so much for the review! Your family was so fun to meet, I am really glad they enjoyed the house. The snowman the girls built in the back yard was so cute I had to add it to the pictures on the website! I would love to have you back in the summer time, the yard is amazing then! Best Wishes- Cami

Return visit

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 7 returned for another visit to the Shakespeare Festival and days hiking in the mountains. We once again found Cami a great host, very friendly and welcoming. When the gas tank on the BBQ emptied, she stopped by with a full tank within 15 minutes of our call.

Like last year, we ate our dinners and breakfasts out on the back deck. In the evenings, we walked to/from the plays at the festival, only two (Utah!) blocks from the house.

We love this house and hope to make it a regular part of our annual trip.

Owner's Response: Nothing is better then opening my email in the morning and finding a review from a guest who loves Higbee House as much as I do! Thank you so much for visiting again this summer. It is so fun to have guests return to make more memories in such a cherished house. Come again soon! Safe Travels! Cami

Lovely home close to town

  • 5 of 5

Our host, Cami, met us personally and gave us a tour of the house. We fell is love with both! We had lots of room for our group, a patio to meet and visit, and close to town for walking. Comfy beds and the bathroom for each room was a huge plus! Lots of chairs for big groups. So much fun, we worried the neighbors might complain :-) This is our new "home away from home" in Cedar City.
