Home Name: 'Be As You Are'. * Location, Location, Location! At the front of this home you are steps away from the St. George Island light house & park as seen in our pictures. 2nd home closest to the light house! This home is great for families who want to enjoy both the beach & outdoor life. You can easily watch your kids at the park or basketball court from the front steps. You are within walking distance to shopping, rental companies, restaurants, airbrush & henna tattoo stores, & ice cream hang outs. From the back of this home you are ocean front with your own little boardwalk that lands you directly onto the gulf beach. You will find a barbecue grill outside & an outdoor shower for your convenience. This home offers privacy with 3 stories so everyone has their own space. The decks are fully furnished & offer seating to enjoy the beach view. Check out the pictures to see the view for yourself! This home sleeps 8- 1 king bed, 2 twin beds, 1 queen, and a sleeper sofa. There is also a small pull out cot in the master closet. ** Please note, the outside beach access to the home is through the master bedroom or front door only. This home is pet friendly to all well behaved pets. Sorry, no smoking in this home. You can add a golf cart, paddle board, kayak, or other rental item for a fee. Great location, but in need of TLC

The condo is located in an ideal location. It is right next to the public park and to the lighthouse. You are within walking distance to the shops, ice cream, stores, etc. The view of the beach is also beautiful and exactly as pictured.

However, this is a very old condo, and has not been renovated in a long time. The dishwasher was not working properly. The soap dispenser would not pop open, but the dishwasher would complete it's cycle but the dishes were still dirty. All the dishes in the cabinet had been put away dirty from the previous tenants/housekeepers. The air conditioning vent about the master bedroom sink leaks on top of your head if you're standing at the sink. There were roaches every night in the house. These are immediate issues that need to be addressed and fixed.

I personally think this house lacked a lot of things that just make your stay more pleasurable. There are no bathroom rugs or mats. You have to put a towel on the floor, and you're only given two towels per bathroom, so there is a shortage of towels. You cannot access the beach from the main level, so if you want to grill, you have to go downstairs and exit though the master bedroom. There are no outside tables and not enough outside chairs. There are no large pots and pans. The linens for the fold out couch were waded up in the bottom of a cabinet and obviously dirty.

I do want to add the process of renting this unit was easy and the owners/management helpful and easy to work with. Since we stayed over the memorial day weekend, I did not feel reporting any of these issues were an immediate need, other than the air conditioning, which I reported. Overall, we enjoyed our vacation, but I would never choose to rent this unit again.

Great Location on the Beach

This rental had pretty much everything we needed being a family with young children. I wish there were more basic items such as a sponge or dish detergent to wash dishes. As a previous review stated, it is a shame that the only access through the house is through the master, but that is a design flaw and not a managing issue. The TV remote still does not work and the master bath still drains slowly. My one complaint is the smell left by the cleaning supplies that punches you in the face as soon as you open the door, a greener cleaner (vinegar and water) would be much preferred over the fabuloso or whatever the place is being drowned in. Also, the towels and sheets have too much fragrance from the laundry detergent, again, fragrance free would be preferred.

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying at Be As You Are. We are glad you enjoyed the great location. We appreciate your feedback & will spread the word to our cleaning team. We are sorry you had sensitivities to any cleaning product or laundry soap. Our cleaners do their best with cleaning, sanitizing, & deodorizing this pet friendly home in the time allotted to them, especially on back to back reservations. Our cleaners do use baking soda & vinegar, as well as name brand pre-packaged cleaners with ingredients to kill virus/mold/flu germs on toilets & other such surfaces. With laundry especially, spot treatments may be used prior to washing to remove stains, & we have not had luck with brands such as "All" Free & clear & other similar unscented detergents for stains such as kool-aid, black eyeliner, etc. We will surely pass along the word about unscented products & using chemicals in moderation to help prevent other guest from experiencing this. Batteries are changed quarterly, & many are taken & swapped for flash lights at our ocean front homes, as the cleaners find the flash lights left behind after departure. We are local and give 24 hr contact numbers for any issue that needs to be resolved. In the future, please give us a call so we can correct a problem on the spot. As stated in our confirmation email we DO provide liquid hand soap, as well as starter amounts of toilet paper, trash bags, & paper towels, and all linens. The only thing we do not provide is laundry detergent. These are normally stored under the kitchen sink. We are sorry you did not have any during your vacation, and immediate word will be sent to cleaners to make sure these items we provide are left for our guest. We would have brought you all supplies had we known this. We desire for all guest to have a pleasurable experience at Be As You Are, & Please know we will address the issues mentioned. Thanks again for staying at Be As You Are, remember to visit St. George soon. Repeat renter's discount will be given if staying at one of our properties!!!

Overall good experience.

Pros: perfect location, unit clean and well stocked. ocean front, great views from 2 balconies. 100yards to the beach.

Cons: only access to beach was through master bedroom. Master Bath slow drain. TV remotes did not work.
