Christian purchased this apartment in 2009
It is a mansion that has a significant history.
Former masonic house with its temple.
Very nice. Centrally located.
Would visit again.
Beautiful apartment in a central location with good restaurants and bakery near by.
Our hosts were most helpful and made our stay in Nantes a delight.
When Christian introduced the Gite to us at arrival, we were fascinated by this wonderful place with new, modern Equipment, very comfortable. each room with separate Airconditioning, clean and tasteful Environment. And this in a medieval house with visible old Stone walls. The room upstairs is connected by a Bridge to the bathroom like on a ship. Excellent idea!. The living room can be opened to the court with bamboo, palmtrees, roses . We enjoyed every day to have the breakfast and dinner outside in the shadow of the bamboo. We had our own Castle with a heavy door in the middle of the City for two weeks. The gite was big enough for 2 couples with excellent comfort. Christian's and Ariane's friendly welcome and Service is to mention especially. Private parking space was very helpful and comfortable just 2 minutes from the gite. We enjoyed very much the historical City (especially in the year of St. Martins 1600th birth day), Restaurants, creperies (old post), street Music, Loire Banks.
We stayed in Christian's apartment for one week in July with our daughter who is going to spend her third year abroad in Tours and we can truly say it is a wonderful place to stay. Right in the centre of the medieval city, a 2 minute walk from Place Plumereau with its inviting bars and restaurants and just 5-10 minutes walk from the Loire. The covered market is also only a 2 minute walk away. The apartment is super clean, beautifully decorated and kitted out with everything you need for a relaxing break in this lovely city. With the added bonus of a beautiful courtyard and air conditioning! Christian and Ariane are very friendly, helpful and discrete owners and couldn't be more cordial or helpful. Parking was very nearby and Christian escorted us there and gave us helpful information about Tours as well.
We were lucky to be in Tours for 14th July and witness the French celebrate La Fête nationale (Bastille Day) and the fireworks were amazing! Tours is a very inviting and friendly city, the people are really helpful and welcoming. Food and drink was amazing!
I can honestly say we haven't had a better experience in any gite we have stayed in during 17 years visiting France, and would unreservedly recommend it!
We stayed here over Christmas with our 23 year old son. The owner, Christian, actually has four suites in this historic building. We stayed in "l'Horloge" which had a separate toilet, separate bath, a small room for our son and a kitchen. Christian was a charming gentleman who guided me through the narrow streets in our rented car to a reserved stall in an underground parkade nearby. Later, he showed up with a welcoming bottle of champagne. Although he spoke no English, we managed with my poor French. The great thing about this place is its location. It's just one narrow street from Place Plumereau in the heart of old Tours. Restaurants and cafes abound and it's only a short walk to Rue Nationale with all the shopping. We spent the week visiting the splendid chateau's of the region and enjoying the wonderful food and wines of the region. I heartily recommend this property.
