About Leslie Kinsella

I grew up in the beautiful Annapolis Valley and spent much of my life at the Fundy Shore in the summer. Since moving to NJ I always wanted to share this special place with my children and husband. We spend a part of every summer here and hope you love it as much as we do.

Leslie Kinsella purchased this house in 2005

Why Leslie Kinsella chose Margaretsville

Take day trips to Annapolis Royal, Vineyards and Winerys in Gaspereau, Grand Pre, Clam digging at Blomidon, Habitation, Port Royal, Upper Clements Park, South Shore , Halifax. With Atlantic Standard time you can still be back to watch the sun set over the Lighthouse.

What makes this house unique

A wonderful place for small children as there is a large grassy yard in front and back with still views of the Bay of Fundy

Guestbook comments from the owner

What a wonderful week we've had here at the Kinsea House. Driving down the coast enjoying the beautiful views, Winery Tours, Celtic Music, Touring Halifax, "Keji" and Peggys Cove and a fantastic Whale Watch from Briar Island. We also enjoyed relaxing on the porch. We have met many wonderful people here who have been so friendly and helpful

Quiet small town, super comfortable and clean place, perfect for our trip, mid way through.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Kinsea House mid way through our week in Nova Scotia. We enjoyed the great front deck overlooking the bay, walked down by the beach and lighthouse in search of treasures with the kids, watched sunsets at the lighthouse and went for a day trip to Freeport whale watching. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet getaway.

Expensive for the location

  • 3 of 5

My husband, small child and I all stayed at Kinsea house for 3 nights on our recent vacation in Nova Scotia. Because we were travelling during peak season (and after the cleaning fee, service fee, and insurance) the property ended up being too much money for the location. The house itself is well equipped and spacious and the owner is responsive and helpful. But all the photos you see of the ocean/coast in the property profile have not been taken at the property... it is located across a highway and up a little road from the ocean. Those photos have been taken down at the public beach near where the By the Dock of the Bay cottages/restaurant are located. So while you are close, you are not right on the ocean. Margaretsville itself is very small and is about a 30/45 minute drive away from major sightseeing spots.

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying at Kinsea House and for your feedback. Our listing does not state waterfront however does describe views of the Bay of Fundy and a short walk across the road to get to the beach. I will certainly update and caption the photos as to resolve any confusion whether the property is oceanfront or not and to better illustrate the location. We appreciate your feedback

Peaceful place to relax and spend time by the sea

  • 5 of 5

It was lovely to have an ocean view from the deck and a short stroll to the water where our kids loved looking for crabs. We took a short drive to Port George and saw seals and had fun investigating the tidal pools for sea creatures. The cottage was very comfortable to hang out and cook your meals in but we also enjoyed The Dock of the Bay restaurant which was a few steps away and restaurants in Greenwood and Kingston. We really enjoyed our day trip to Digby area for a whale watching trip with Petit Passage Whale Watch. It was fantastic to see whales.

Right on the bay, honey and comfortable. Great summer get away.

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for two days on a honeymoon trip to Nova Scotia. The house is right on the bay and we enjoyed walking down and exploring at low tide. The accommodations were comfortable and very homey. We would recommend this as a relaxing weekend get away or a great family summer retreat.

Great Family Escape

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking for a comfortable house that has sweeping ocean views, a well equipped kitchen, laundry room and space for your family/kids/dogs to play, this is the place.

The owner was extremely responsive to any questions I had leading up to the trip or during the trip. The house was very clean and even better than what the pictures depicted. The bathroom seems to have been recently updated and has plenty of room - the double sink was very nice. The neighborhood is quiet and good for short walks in the morning or it's a 2 minute walk to the beach where you can watch the sunrise and the seals play. It was a great trip. Thanks so much Leslie!
