Description

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday home in Port Saint Joe - The Beach House

The Beach House is a newly built wooden cottage nestled within the palms of a large serene corner lot on the beautiful Forgotten Coast. Gorgeous Gulf of Mexico beach views and easy beach access are a dream come true. This coastal area is pet friendly and offers many enjoyable possibilities including peaceful strolls on the quiet white sandy beaches, swimming, sun bathing, picnicking, bird watching, boating, canoeing, kayaking, snorkeling, fishing, crabbing, scalloping and surfing. Bikes, golf carts, canoes, kayaks and horseback rides can be rented at nearby establishments if you are interested.

Breathtaking sunrises and sunsets are seen from most every room in the house and always from all four porches. Bottlenosed dolphins, bald eagles and ospreys are common sites here. Loggerhead sea turtles make their nests on our beaches from May through October. The lot across the street from the Beach House is a State Preserve where eagles are viewed almost daily.

The Beach House is a custom built two-story home with two bedrooms, two full baths, a large kitchen and family room, and a private breakfast room with spectacular views to enjoy your morning coffee. The house sleeps eight, with a queen size bed in each bedroom, a comfortable queen size futon, and a pull out queen size sofa bed in the living room. There are porches on both the front and back of the home. The back porch is screened and there are small open deck porches off of each bedroom which are excellent for greeting the morning sun, sun bathing, or watching the stars at night.

The Beach House contains a fully equipped kitchen, a utility room with washer and dryer, two big screen TVs with Dish network and movie channel, and a private breakfast room and family room with excellent beach views. The house has central heating and air conditioning and ceiling fans are installed in most rooms. Complementary wi-fi is available as well as a telephone for local calls. The large yard includes an outdoor grill and a cement breezeway under the house complete with chairs, wooden porch swing, and wooden picnic table for entertaining and enjoying the outdoors.

This coastal area offers one of the last beautiful private and peaceful beaches in Florida, where you can collect a variety of sea shells, appreciate wildlife, and enjoy the peace and beauty of The Uncommon Florida.

Indian Pass Raw Bar a unique eating establishment less than a mile down the road where you can enjoy delicious Apalachicola Bay and Indian Lagoon oysters as well as shrimp, crab and other local seafood. The Raw Bar often has live outdoor entertainment and dancing on weekend nights. You will love their laid back style.

Nine miles to the west is the city of Port St. Joe where you can enjoy fine dining, great shopping, dancing and other entertainment. St. Joseph Peninsula State Park located on Cape San Blas is known worldwide for its beautiful beaches and you can rent canoes and kayaks or launch your own boat into the pristine waters of St. Joe Bay. Another interesting and educational place to visit is the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve which is located approximately 30 miles to the east. The nature center at the Reserve offers educational exhibits and aquaria featuring local fish, turtles and other wildlife.

If you enjoy shopping in small eclectic shops, you will want to visit the historic town of Apalachicola to the east and enjoy some delicious fresh local seafood while you're there.

If you're looking for a perfect and simple place to relax and enjoy the wonders of Florida's Forgotten Coast, the Beach House is the place!

An amazing beach house for a retreat to paradise!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed in this beautiful home on the beach and had a wonderful time. Only steps away from the gorgeous gulf! This is the perfect place for a quiet retreat where you can catch up with reading, enjoy the sunrise and sunsets, stroll the beautiful beach, find amazing shells and more. It's crazy close to the famous Indian Pass Raw Bar and Oyster City Brewing Company - OCBC in Apalachicola. We picked up fresh seafood and unwound at the beach house cooking our hearts away. Thanks Curt and Linda! We loved our stay there and can't wait to return.

Love, Love, Love

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a week at this beach house.

We absolutely intend to do this again. It sleeps 8 but there were only 2 of us. We each had our own bathroom. The dining room is sweet, nice kitchen with anything you need, nice big screen tv and one in the bedroom as well.

We counted the steps to the beach, 90 steps.. it was great. There was a sweet lady next door too.

We cooked each morning for breakfast. Ate out all but one night and that was my birthday. The husband grilled nice steaks on the provided grill.

Indian Pass Raw Bar is very close (it's relaxed and wonderful) we also ate at Joe Mama's Pizza, Pepper's Mexican and Triple Tails Oyster Bar & Grill (which was my favorite)

This place is wonderful when you want to just get away from the hustle and bustle. Nobody within 100 yds in each direction on the beach! Anyone you did see was very nice and friendly.

This is a wonderful place and the Allen's were a delight to work with, no problems at all.

Relaxing and quiet!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed her for our first anniversary. We loved this house since it was perfect for our dogs! It is so close to the beach and it felt as if we were the only ones there. The house has amazing views of the water. Curt the owner was so accommodating to all our needs! We are so thankful. If you are looking for a quiet getaway to relax on the beach then this is the perfect place! We will definitely be coming back!

Wonderful. We plan to come back!

  • 5 of 5

Nothing beats waking up to the fabulous view of Gulf from the master bedroom and feeling the lovely breeze in the evening from the porch. The stars were also spectacular. Loved the beautiful dog friendly beach. Dogs said it was the best vacation they ever had. The house was incredibly comfortable and relaxing- easy to clean and cook all of our yummy scallops. Finding the scallops took some perseverance but was loads of fun. This is one of the prettiest areas in all of Florida.

Cute beach cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time and our dog had an even better experience. It was her first time at the beach and the more remote location meant she could get used to swimming and being off-leash without the fear of her getting distracted on a busy beach. We will be back! A perfect spot if you're looking for for a relaxing getaway without the crowds of other gulf beaches.
