The listing was 100% accurate and we had fantastic experience staying with our host. Hughes was very helpful with transfers and planning of this trip.
We were a family of 6, three generations and the accommodations were 5 STAR. The views of the Grand Canal are just as seen in the pictures and location was perfect. Everyone must visit Venice and staying in the roomy apartment is a plus.
We really enjoyed this apartment! The kitchen is well appointed – lots of dishes – which was much appreciated by the would-be cooks among us. And the front room, with its view on the canal, was absolutely splendid. The rest was great too – the beds were very comfortable, the rooms were lovely, and the altana could not be topped for morning coffee or an afternoon aperitif. There were only 4 of us but the apartment easily accommodates 7 (2+2+3, with 3 bathrooms). Great location - near Santo Stefano, Accademia, we walked to Rialto, San Polo or Castello for dinner. I would definitely go back.
Everything about our stay was magical. Excellent communications with the owner throughout; a warm welcome; large, comfortable and spotless apartment and the best view and location you could possibly imagine. We welcomed in the new year drinking bubbly on the roof terrace while watching the fireworks in the sky above the Piazza San Marco, which we'll never forget.
Book this incredible place!! Seriously! The pictures don't do it justice. Ambience galore, a truly beautiful and spacious apartment with the most amazing views and character. Impeccably clean and in a charming location close to San Marco and the Rialto bridge with many restaurants close by. Fully equipped kitchen as well which was a joy to cook in. Hugues was wonderful and answered all questions and was full of great advice. We had a blast!!! Thank you for the wonderful memories!
We were three couples who were spending three days in Venice after cycling in Croatia and touring in Friuli. The apartment met all of our needs, spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Elegant and tasteful and well lived in so you could truly relax. And spotlessly clean. The internet was speedy and the washing machine was a welcome sight after our previous travels. We were warmly welcomed by our host Hugues and the cleaning lady Renata when we arrived and we were shown how everything worked and given suggestions for where to shop and to eat out. We even had a little history lesson of the house one evening from our host, at our invitation, and we appreciated his taking the time.
But the outstanding feature was the location. Right on the Grand Canal. The Accademia Bridge was very nearby and sites like St Marks Square and the Guggenheim were no more than 10 -15 minutes on foot. The view from the sitting room windows was enchanting and ever changing as the light and boat traffic altered as the day progressed. We had morning coffee and evening drinks and sometimes even lunch sitting in the windows and watching the water world go by. Heavenly.
We were a family of four adults staying at Hugo's apartment for three nights. We had a delightful experience staying at the apartment; its historical and traditional nature, spacious, clean, quiet and perfect views. We selected it on the basis of positive comments from others who had previously stayed at Hugo's apartment, and it was better in real life. In terms of amenities, everything was provided for and its location of course was ideal. Importantly, Hugo was very welcoming, personable and efficient to ensure everything needed was available in the apartment, including communicating in advance all relevant information and guidance. An exceptional apartment that is highly recommended.
