Winter in Wyoming Weekly Special: From December 1st through April 30 stay for a week for just $525.

This Victorian-era guest house is a clean modern 700 sf. home located in Laramie, Wyoming. Only three blocks from downtown Laramie and twelve blocks from the University of Wyoming, it is in the perfect location if you like to walk or bike around town. Off-street parking, a private deck with a gas grill and patio furnishings, and a fully-fenced landscaped yard provide private, secure outdoor spaces. Guest bikes, a Forest Service parking pass, and lots of maps and trail information will help you make good use of all that Laramie has to offer. Cable TV and internet services are the best available.

The kitchen is fully equipped for everything from cooking a great meal to just making a great cup of coffee. Appliances include a gas range and oven, full-sized fridge, and microwave plus butcher block counter tops, and all the cookware, dishes, and utensils you might need.

The guest house has a beautiful bathroom with a walk in shower, low-flow Toto toilet, and uniquely styled Japanese tile. Bath towels are provided.

The front, and most unique, room in the house has a Brazilian Koa wood floor with five windows surrounding a bright, cozy reading nook.

The bedroom floors are a mixture of Cherry and Hickory. There is a comfortable queen-sized bed. All bedding and linens are provided.

All of downtown is just a few blocks away. Walk to breakfast at Night Heron Bookstore (and peruse the fantastic selection of used books while you're at it) or Coal Creek Coffee. Numerous lunch, dinner, and drinking establishments are all within a few blocks of the guest house.

This is a green-renovated house that used as much of the original material as possible -- preserving the character and uniqueness of the house.

Flat screen TV with DVD and free WiFi make this guest house ideal for business travelers. Children are welcome.

Why Amy and Ranie chose Wyoming

When we bought this house it's Victorian-style trim and front porch gave us a vision it's potential. Renovating small, old, unmaintained houses into modern, livable spaces is our passion and this little shogun house was just calling out for a new lease on life.

What makes this house unique

When we purchased 807 S 2nd Street it was in rough shape. Originally built in the 1880s to house Union Pacific railroad workers, the house had fallen into disrepair. We renovated it ourselves--from the roof to the foundation--keeping the character of an old shotgun rail house while adding modern amenities and giving the house a second life as a comfortable space to enjoy Laramie's south side.

My husband and I & our 2 dogs spent a quick weekend at Amy & Ranie's house in downtown Laramie. Amy was great to deal with and made the rental process very easy. The home is adorable and in such a perfect location downtown. It was clean, cozy and well furnished with towels and linens, and a full kitchen! They went above and beyond and had items that were well thought out (postcards, stamps, local trail maps, etc.) that made our experience that much more enjoyable. It is in a great location with many restaurants, shops, etc..within walking distance and just a short drive to downtown and most other attractions. Pet friendly was a huge plus as well!

This was a great experience, we would definitely stay at this little Victorian home again when we are in the area! Thank you!

A fantastic introduction to Laramie! I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Amy & Ranie have set this gorgeous cottage up to be a home away from home. It is the perfect place to stay when in Laramie. It is in a really convenient part of town within walking & biking distance of most areas. Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. It is fantastically appointed - inside and out Thanks for all your help & the use of the bikes. I will definitely be back when I'm next over.

Wonderful house and hosts!!

We stayed at Shotgun Vicki for 4 weeks and had a wonderful experience! The home is as cute as can be and Ranie and Amy are wonderful hosts! The house was exceptionally clean, very nicely stocked with everything you need when you get there, from bathroom supplies (soap, shampoos, q tips, face wash, lotions, etc) to kitchen items (spices, flour, pastas, sauces and on and on). They supply you with a nice assortment of brochures of things to see and do around Laramie. The location is perfect for walking downtown Laramie which has a wonderful selection of restaurants, shops and fun things to do! We definitely would love to return to Laramie and staying at Shotgun Vicki would be first on our list!!

The house is 3 blocks from downtown, the hub of Laramie. Excellent places to eat (and drink) include Altitude's Chophouse and Brewery, Sweet Melissa's (vegetarian, and also has the original pre-1900 bar from Hartville, WY), the Crow Bar, Roxie's, Thai Spice, Anong's, Night Heron Books (and excellent breakfast/lunch!), Coal Creek Coffee, and the list goes on and on.
