I stayed here over July 4th weekend with a group of girlfriends (early/mid-20 yr olds) and we had a great time. The house is very spacious, with more than enough places to sleep for a big group. The kitchen looks brand new and has beautiful cabinets and countertops - we made lunch at home all three days. The living room is spacious with a big, comfy couch! The upstairs has plenty of space to sleep with comfortable beds. The two bathrooms are clean and large, and the downstairs bathroom even has light up shower heads! The basement is the perfect finishing touch, with a large couch and TV perfect to lounge and watch a movie, along with a ping pong table and pool table!
The location is great. About a 5 minute drive (only about a mile way) from the amtrak station. Westerly is a cute, small town, with a handful of local eateries, cafes and bars. It's also about a 10 minute drive from Granite St., which has a Stop & Shop, Michael's Crafts Store, CVS, and many restaurants etc.
One night we went to Mohegan Sun, which was about a 35 minute drive ($40 taxi). Lots of fun. We also went to Watch Hill beach, which is BEAUTIFUL. Get there early - parking fills up quick (the lot is $25 parking, street spots are free but hard to find)! The main entrance to the beach (by the merry go round) is $8 per person, but another entrance is free, so walk a little further from the main entrance, and you'll see the free entrance up the hill just a little. We went out for dinner and drinks at Andrea's Hotel, which is a beach-front bar/restaurant (with dancing!), so we ate dinner watching the sunset and walked along the beach and danced.
We didn't use the grill, but certainly enjoyed the hot tub. There are also activities in the garage - we brought a frisbee to the beach.
Great price for a great spot. Definitely a good value. I want to go back!
The homeowners were easy to contact and very helpful. I highly recommend.
