El Romeral - meaning the place where pilgrims came to rest. A most appropriate name for this beautiful south facing traditional Spanish villa. Extremely well located in the private exclusive urbanisation of Pla del Mar in the quiet cul de sac of Oceano Artico (click on our google earth link below).The villa is so close to all that Moraira has to offer that it seems hard to appreciate the quietness and tranquility of the location. Turn left out of the villa and just a 5 minute walk away is the village of Moraira with it's beaches, harbour and marina, turn right out of the villa and a 10 minute walk will take you to the glorious bay of El Portet with it's own cafes and restaurant. The first class local beaches are all EEC Blue flag approved. El Romeral is of traditional Spanish origins it has been tastefully refurbished throughout but still retains it's character and ambiance. Enjoy the large secure gardens with various terraces & patios enjoying both full sun & shade, far reaching views to Calpe Rock & the mountains to the hinterland. The villa is the ideal place for relaxation & fun with family& friends.

It is difficult to fully appreciate all that El Romeral has to offer from the photos alone, walking out from the lounge the pool is only a few steps away & on the same level which is ideal for everyone including families with young children & for people with mobility difficulties.

Romeral offers so many outdoor spaces offering full sun & shade, lots of different seating/relaxing areas such as the courtyard garden with bbq, seating & eating areas. The wicker sofa suite overlooking the pool, just imagine enjoying that gin & tonic there!! Large mosaic table offering the facility for those fine dining moments!! ....and leading up from the garden is a spiral staircase to the solarium and first floor balcony offering far reaching sea views to Calpe Rock and beyond.

All in all a great outdoor space offering lots of different seating & eating areas, bbq, carefully tended gardens by Alberto our Spanish gardener with fruit trees and a selection of Spanish plants and succulants

Venture into the Spanish bars in Moraira & enjoy the Spanish banter of the locals who frequent them and you will not be disappointed with their selections of Spanish tapas.....coffees wines and beers are very reasonable priced too. There is a wide selection of bars restaurants and cafes offering a varying choice of cuisines and prices to appeal to all.

About Djenane Tosbath

We live in Geneva, Switzerland, a small but very international city located on the shores of Lake Geneva. I have been working in various non-governmental organisations and public administrations. My husband Gabriel is hydrogeologist and is currently working at the Geological Survey of the Canton of Geneva.

We purchased El Romeral in February 2017. We were looking for a lovely villa where we would spend our old days and when we viewed El Romeral we both found it was the ideal setting for it. We will undertake some refurbishment and will be renting it for the years to come, while taking some holidays whenever possible.

My husband first came to Moraira in 1972 when his parents purchased an apartment in the exclusive Pla del Mar estate, same where El Romeral is located. Since then he has been returning almost every year and I joined him for the past 20 years. We could witness how Moraira has grown from a small fishing village to a charming and extremely well preserved resort location offering all the facilities of a small city. We are so fond of this lovely place that we could not think of any other to buy a property in Spain. When we viewed El Romeral we were immediately impressed by its unique location, its traditional Spanish style and its beautiful outdoor.

What makes this villa unique

El Romeral is situated in a unique position within easy walking distance of Moraira & El Portet, a car isn't necessary and we can vouch for that. You can experience a totally restful holiday and enjoy the villa and the surrounding area or venture further afield and explore all that the Costa Blanca has to offer.

Within the villa itself El Romeral offers all you can wish from a holiday. A large 10m x 4m private pool which can be heated on request. South facing secluded gardens with far reaching sea views offering great space in both full sun & shade, together with terraces & patios where you can find a quiet chill out area on your own or great get together family areas.

We really want you to feel this is a home from home & with this in mind you will find a lot of comfortable outdoor seating areas, to relax and unwind

We have provided outdoor games which will hopefully keep you all amused, this includes table tennis, darts, outdoor chess, Connect Four, noughts & crosses, Jenga, dominoes, pick up sticks, badminton and bat and ball.

Tennis is available to visitors of El Romeral which can be booked for a nominal charge on the Pla del Mar estate about a 5 min walk away. These courts are for the exclusive use of residents and their guests.

Moraira has been described as the jewel in the crown and is one of the most unspoilt resorts in the Costa Blanca. The tranquil town of Moraira remains the most unspoilt coastal town of the Marina Alta area. Moraira was, up until the 1970's just a tiny cluster of fishermen’s cottages, since then it has emerged as an exclusive holiday resort. This wonderful and peaceful small seaside town nestles in a sheltered spot on Spain's eastern coast known as the Costa Blanca, named after it's multitude of beaches with fine, clean and warm sand.

A 5min walk from the villa takes you into the town, marina, harbour - (Fish Auction: Monday to Friday at 10.00 in the Lonja building in the marina), numerous restaurants, designer shops, cafes & street & weekly markets.

There is so much to do within a short distance of the villa, scuba diving, sailing, kyaking, diving, quad biking, horse riding, jet skis you name it !!

Going further afield but still within easy access by car are various resorts including:

Benidorm offering theme and water parks such as Terra Mitica, Aqualandia, Mundomar, Terra Natura & Aqua Natura, all offering an amazing variety of entertainment.

Valencia Calpe & Denia are all within an easy drive from the villa.

A traditional an stunning Spanish villa

I visited the villa in September and couldn’t have asked for a more elegant villa. The villa has a traditional Spanish feel with plenty of space. Outside you will find a lovely swimming pool with big outdoor sofas to relax and enjoy a cocktail, not to mention the views. The villa is equipped with plenty of sun loungers, games, a BBQ, and several eating areas to enjoy the sun. Inside, you will find a very comfortable open plan lounge/dinning room with big sofas and a large dining table to enjoy a family meal. The kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances and the bedrooms were large and to a high standard. I would recommend the top bedroom which has stunning views. Location wise is perfect just a short walk from the shops, restaurants and beaches yet situated in a very peaceful and tranquil area. All the neighbours seemed very friendly and the area had a safe feel. All in All a thumbs up from me and I will be looking forward to my next visit.

Home from home feel

Superb 2 weeks in the sun. Booked the villa for my daughter’s 30th birthday. Arrived at the villa to find a bottle sparkling wine and birthday card that she really appreciated. The villa is in an excellent location, with a short walk to all the amenities and beaches. The outside space and pool provide ample space for bathers, BBQ and sitting in the shade. Seven adults were easily accommodated in the house, providing a home from home feel.

Perfect family holiday villa

Our family of 5 (kids aged 13,11 and 8) stayed here in early July and this was overall the best villa we have stayed in (of the 10 or so we have rented over recent years).

The location is hard to beat, 5 mins walk to Supercor (a small but well stocked in-town supermarket, like sainsbury's local but better, open 8am til 2am the following morning), bakery, shops, restaurants and ice cream parlour. A full scale Pepe la Sal supermarket (think reasonably priced spanish Waitrose) is about another 5 mins walk, and there are 4 or 5 other supermarkets within a 5 min drive, they stock a pretty decent selection of british products if thats what you are looking for.

Beautiful beach at El portet is 10 mins walk, and about 10 mins to the main Moraira each. There are watersports activities at both, we did kyaking, standup paddle board and the total wipeout style inflatable but there are also waterslide pedalos, parascending, banana boat etc. In the edge of town is AV Karting (pricey at 24euros for 8mins) which has carts for all ages and which our kids really enjoyed.

The villa is well equipped, we particularly appreciated the satellite TV (meant we were able to watch Andy Murray win his second Wimbledon and euro 2016 on BBC). The table tennis and good selection of outsize garden games (connect 4, Jenga, Chess, Dominos, pickup sticks, badminton) kept the kids entertained and they loved the pool (unheated but it was over 30deg for the entire holiday, we used the pool cover to keep the heat in at night). There was also a good selection of inflatables for the kids, the pool volleyball was played endlessly.

Alison (owner) was super responsive with our enquires during booking and Ray (based in Moraira and looks after el Romeral) was very helpful when we needed to reset the circuit breaker and replace a couple of lightbulbs. We also appreciated the welcome pack (milk, water, bread, butter and especially the cava) since we arrived at 10pm.

Moraira is a lovely town with a broad selection of bars, cafes and reasonably priced restaurants. Many of them offer takeway which was very easy given the close proximity of the villa. There is a refreshing absence of people trying to push you into their bar or restaurant and people selling knock off goods on the street. We ate out every other night and ate on the terrace at the villa in between, making good use of the bbq.

Overall a top place and we're planning to return soon :-)

The perfect place!

My family and I can't say enough wonderful things about this villa. It is beautiful, spacious, very well maintained and clean. The patio area is large and gorgeous as well - my family thoroughly enjoyed spending time outside, grilling and eating by the pool. The location is wonderful as well. There are so many places to eat and shop and the beaches are close by as well. The owners are absolutely wonderful to work with. I highly recommend staying here and we sincerely hope to be able to go back in a couple of years. One of the best and most memorable vacations we've had!!

Another wonderful holiday at El Romeral

We have just returned from a great family holiday at the very spacious and comfortable El Romeral. This was our second holiday at the villa, which for our family, ranging from 2 to 68 years young is ideally centrally located. To underline the point we have just booked for two weeks in the summer of 2016.

The outside space and amenities including the heated pool are excellent with far reaching views of the sea. My only negative comment is our two weeks at the villa went by too fast!!

Great May Break

Our family was looking for a villa to cater for 4 couple. El Romeral was that villa.

Everything about it met our expectations.

Location: 5 minutes’ walk from town and supermarket. 10 minutes’ walk to Moraira beach and the same for El Portet beach.

Bedrooms: All good size, well furnished. The upper room being the premier.

Bathrooms: Again good size, modern, with one containing a washing machine (if that's your thing). Two with walk in showeres.

Lounge/Diner: Again good size for 8 people, although we hardly used either accept for passing through or watching the football.

Kitchen: Well equipped, good size, american fridge freezer. Mainly used for food prep, not much cooking.

Outside Space: Superb. Three outside eating areas, two of which catered for 8. Plenty of shade, plenty of space for 8 sunbeds and table tennis table (plus many other outside games). Beautiful aspect and gardens. The pool was bigger than we expected and again easily accommodated 8 adults at once. Upstairs was a solar area, where you get the early and late sun. A favorite with our group. Outside cooking oven, where most of our meals were cooked.

In summation this is an excellent villa, to which we would happily return.

Add to this the lovely town of Moraira, this was an ideal place for a relaxing break.
